I too have both and just feel the clinique moisture surge feels a bit more soothing and I prefer the lack of fragrance but the Neutrogena Hydro most does smell so fresh.....more a summery choice. The clinique is more likely to be better in winter. I'm oily combo too!
I actually just went to Nordstrom and purchased 2 perfumes and one cologne for my husband. The salesman told me that he had a gift for me and it was a 3 piece gift of the Clinique moisture surge. It came with the face wash, the moisture gel and a moisture eye cream. Let me tell you, it’s been only 5 days and my face is glowing. Today was the first day that I did not wear make up to work. I love how my face is glowing. I don’t find it sticky at all. I only use a dime size amount for the face and for my eyes, I use half a pea size for the eye cream. I love it ! I will definitely go back and purchase when I run out. My face looks amazing! I never knew how dry my face was. Sorry I never use moisturizers. But I love this!
Just today, I was watching a sad show of a woman around her 30's reviewing something like a 14 year old child, is nice to see that you do not need over do gesticulations or any sort of things to get right to the point and be clear! Thank so much!!
I hate moisturizers/lotions because I have oily, acne prone, and sensitive skin and I felt like they always broke me out. I never wore them, and just left my skin dry which is terrible but I bought the hydro boost last summer and I love it. It doesn't leave my skin greasy and break me out and the smell is so good. If water ever had a smell, I think it smell like this hydro boost moisturizer lol. But I recommend it. I'm gonna stick with it forever. Or at least until I find one that I love more, which will probably never happen. I never thought I'd love a moisturizer but here I am rooting for one 😩❤️️
She so doesn't look like she's in her 30s...you ppl quit lying....be honest! She looks like a mature 53 to 57 year old woman who's aging gracefully.....not no 40 or 30s!!
I would add on to this review that those with sensitive skin should lean toward Clinique. I agree that these are very comparable and I was hoping I could save a few bucks with Nuetrogena, unfortunately I have VERY sensitive skin and I found the Clinique is bit more calming on my skin as well as moisturizing (I tend not to do well with perfumed products). I hate to diss Nuetrogena though, there sensitive skin products are the thing out of a drug store that my skin can tolerate.
Those two are not far apart in prices at all. I have been using Clinique skin care for 20 years. That moisture Serge is 29 at Macy's for 2 oz and the Neutrogena is 19.99 at my local store so it's deff pretty close. Might as well get the Clinique for about 10 bucks more.
I have somewhat oily skin, but some areas of my face, like my nose, are prone to flaking. I actually use both these products. I have recently started using the Neutrogena as my night cream, and I'm very happy with it. I actually only use the Moisture Surge on my nose and other areas that are prone to flaking. I use a different moisturizer as my general daily moisturizer, and then use the Clinique only in dry areas, because I haven't found anything better to prep my skin for makeup and keep my foundation from looking flaky in those areas. Because I only use a very small amount, it lasts a really long time, so the price is not too bad considering how much use I get from it. Also keep an eye out for Clinique's gift sets at different stores, especially around the holidays. I recently got a set with a full size jar plus several other Clinique products for a bit less than the full size usually costs on its own.
Hey Stacy . I'll definitely will keep an eye out for the sets!! It's so funny, I like using the same cream at night too!! It works so well☺. I honestly thing that they are very similar but the clinique one is more hydrating
I have oily skin and find the neutrogena one can make me a little oily after a while so I prefer to put it on a night and use sometnkng else during the day but for the price I highly recommended! I do like the Clinique dramatically different gel moisturiser
Girl Shadow HI...I feel that happens when I use some moisturisers. The Clinique here makes me a bit oilier in the warmer months. I use seems underneath and both work great😊
My skin produces absolutely zero oil and well I haven’t used the Clinique moisturiser but ive used the neutrogena gel cream and it’s sooo good I can’t imagine a moisturiser being better
You are so pretty! Thanks for this comparison. I am turning 40 in a few weeks and want more moisture. I use to have oily skin but now I'm normal but dry in the winter.
I am so glad you compared these products. I used Clinique for years and bought the neutrgena since I retired. I needed to find something more affordable. I felt that neutrogena was comparable.
Ahh! I’ve seen so many mixed reviews on this subject! Will have to test it out myself to find the answer. I haven’t tried the Clinique, but the neotrogena hydro boost I have used for a while, it definitely moisturizes my skin but I have pretty dry skin so if I don’t continuously use it, my skin gets a bit dry.
Renee Lofland it's way smaller tho, it's only 0.5 oz it's pretty much just like a trial size. It's good to try to see if u wanna buy the bigger one tho.
Ima guy i use this cuz my skin is dry and sometimes lotion will make me oily and brake out. The hydro boost makes my skin feel great. Keeps a glow to my skin
Elijah Florence. I just bought the hydro boost too after seeing all the good reviews. I have combination skin because I use a face wash to prevent breakouts so I have some really dry patches but like you can’t use lotion because I just get spots then. I’ve just used hydro boost for the first time and it absorbs nicely into my skin, makes my skin feel soft and because it’s oil free it shouldn’t cause any pimples to breakout. It’s fragrance free and doesn’t make my skin super shiny either which is good.
I've got both of them. They're humectants which should be used over wet or moisturised skin to seal it all in. They're not moisturisers in their own right. I prefer the Neutrogena by a mile. Thanks for reviewing. X
Fiona Midgley thanks so much for your views and experience. I definitely learned something. I wonder if I apply over another moisturiser if I would get super oily Xxx
Vilma Martins I watch a dermatologist called Dr Dray who I thoroughly recommend. She suggests applying these products straight out the shower when the face and neck is still wet then apply anything else over the top. Whatever you are doing is clearly working. You have BEAUTIFUL skin and your make up always looks lovely. I bet you won't look any different in ten years too! 😘
I had both of these but found the Clinique one quite sticky when applied, even if it was a little amount, I was wondering if anyone else experienced that? After using it a few times I had to throw the jar away. Guess it'll be Neutrogena for me, 👍, as found they both did the same thing, just that Neutrogena didn't feel sticky on my face when I applied it.
I am a big fan of the Clinique moisture surge, however, clinique products are rly pricy for me, so when I saw people on multiple sources comparing Neutrogena to it I had to give it a try. I actually bought the whole line: cleanser, exfoliant, serum, eye cream, the gel cream from your video and the night cream as well. My skin type is super dry. If anyoneone is interested on how they performed I would say it was not as good as the clinique. The main reason is the scent. They got a very strong parfume that I felt was kinda irritating my skin. The cleanser and eye cream were OK. I disliked the serum a lot, it left my face with a werid feeling. For moisturisers I actually found the night version to be way more effective, at least for my skin type. Now of course there is a huge price difference, so with that in mind, I would say if they would give up the strong scent it could be a really good cream for the dry skin types.
I've been using Neutrogena Hydro boost for a long time..I found it too soothing to my skin type..💜💖 it doesn't give my skin any breakouts 💜💖 I highly recommend it to those who have normal and dry skin combination ..it's so effective 💜💖
I use to fight with dry skin (especialy winter) and break outs also combinated skin, fine lines and big pores. I tried sooo many products and Neutrogena water gel with city boost moisturiser is my holy grail. They sink in so fast and skin feels plumped, no oily, little healthy glow. Also city boost have spf and I had a struggle to get tanned summer time 🙈
Buy the Fragrance-Free Version pf Hydro Boost, Dilemma solved! I only bought Clinique because it’s fragrance free and couldn’t get my hands on the Extra Dry Version of the Neutrogena one.
Love the review. I've been a fan of the Neutrogena one for a long time and finally bought the Clinique one because it would be comparable. Good to know I was on the right idea
great review! Neutrogena has a new gel version of the one you reviewed, designed for "extra dry skin", but it's still light, and I find it's even more hydrating than the Clinique. (I'm not sure if that's the same cream you mention, or if you mean the SPF cream!)
Hi and thanks so much for watching!! At the moment is use a natural brand called Soaper Duper. I absolutely love the range. And for the first time I actually love a body butter because it actually works
I think it feels greasey. Iv just used it first time tonight.. Im not keen so far. I was looking for a cheaper moisturiser than my estee lauder..however i think id rather pay more and go back to using Estee Lauder daywear mattee oil control.
I would also describe you as looking "younger than in her 40s, close to 30s", but it's possible that, as a 26 year old, I have limited understanding of how mature skin works, so I'll just say you're beautiful! Thanks for the review, this popped up exactly at the moment when I'm trying to make a choice between these two products. xD
Hi!!! I've been using moisture surge for ages and I want to try the Hydro Boost but I'm afraid that it doesn't fit my skin (many years ago I tried a L'Oreal moisturizing cream and it damaged my skin). Anyway I live in Spain and there are some drugstores where you can find the Moisture Surge with a similar price than the Hydro Boost (about 20€). I'm 35 years old and have combination and sensitive skin. Sorry if my English is not very good!!! And thanks for the video!!!
Raquel Medina I hate Loreal skincare as well but all drugstore skincare aren’t loreal. Neutrogena has a nice skincare line you should try hydro boost at least.
yo uso el hidratante matificante de Loreal, y lo odio :( no me hidrata lo suficiente, y a los minutos ya estoy sacando sebo otra vez :( Voy a comprar este a ver cómo me va, porque estoy desesperada. saludos desde Perú :)
same here, tried the neutrogena one but it broke me out and it catually dried my skin, the perfume in it is very strong. this never happens with the clinique one
U just got urself a new subscriber love! 😘😘 absolutely loved the presentation, how u give out every details without going overboard. I'm so glad I found you. Love ur content hunn. Keep it up!!! ❤❤
I have tried both and they make my skin drier and flaky. Nutrogena has a soapy smell while the Clinique one is sort of fragrance free. I don't think I will buy either one of them again. They both make my skin tight and dry.
hello ma'am after i watched your video.. i have a combination skin, and oily skin also a sensitive.. what moisturizer can i use..? and also a cream.. i hope you notice me.. 😊 thank you..
Hey u look so pretty 🌹I m ur new subscriber please suggest me which one I should go for neutrogena one or Clinique my skintype is oily acneprone and sensitive skin
I got combination to oily skin n in cold weather the clinique dont give me much moisture, my skin is very dry. I jus bought the neutrogena so I will see how it works
I never subscribe any channel before but after sending this message i am going to subscribe yours. I like you and the video is super helpfull. I am glady that I have got the answer of my questions.
Hi. Are there 2 formulas of the Clinique Moisture Surge? Isn’t one Regular formula & one is “extended”? I have dry skin & I love the Moisture surge. But I don’t think mine says “extended” formula on it. It is wonderful for us “mature” ladies with dry skin. 😃
Hi Karen! It's not that there are two formulations, it's that Clinique has two very similar products. The first one they came out with is the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. Then, they came out with the Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator. The two are very similar, but from my research (I'm hardcore researching a bunch of different moisturizers for my winter skin), the first (Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief) is better for combo, normal, and oily skin. The newer one (Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator) is better for dry skin. This is because the new one has a creamier, thicker texture compared to the original, which was more watery and gel like. The original also absorbed faster while the newer one supposedly could leave the skin feeling tacky because its hydration was more intense, hence the name. Hope that helps!
Hetal Baman thanks so much. I'll put the link of the video where I created this look th-cam.com/video/sGXZ6LOzfic/w-d-xo.html List of products used should be in the info bar below xx
I have combination skin oily in T zone and my cheeks are dry. I get bumps when I use moisturizer I have tried so many but none of them work😔 Can you please suggest me which one is best for my skin??
You can try to apply products considering each part of your face. I mean on your T zone you can apply a gel which reduce sebum buy it doesn't dry out your face and on your cheeks you can apply another product, a gel moisturizer. The best thing to do would be to see a dermatologist to give you the best advice. I have oily skin and I use Tinero on my whole face. It's a gel thay reduce sebum. I don't know if it's available international but you can look it up. Also you can try a gel moisturizer from Avene, it's called Hydrance Aqua Gel. Hope it will help you!
Me and hubby is using neutrogena. Were on 4th tub now. I want to try a new moisturizer bec i dont like it when its in a jar container and also we used them up so quickly. But aside from that, its the best moisturizer weve tried. Btw, were living in a tropical country
Jen Malonzo I really like this line. It does the job and it's affordable. I currently use Bobbi Brown products. They work great but they are a lot more expensive. You could try it but if both of you are using you'll need 2 of each as you'll go through them quick😘 I've done of video on what I'm using very recently
I appreciate how she got straight to the point 👍

Clinique moisture surge in 75 ml is a promotional size, was in a gift package with cleanser and makeup remover for $59.
Was a great deal.
I have both, I like using clinique as day moisturizer, Neutrogena hydraboost at night.
I did that too
I tried both and in all honesty. ...Clinique moisture surge hydrates better and much much longer.

I am so glad you compared these products. I used Clinique for years and bought the neutrgena since I retired. I needed to find something more affordable. I felt that neutrogena was comparable.

Thank you .
Beny I'm glad I was able to help. I love both😊
Finally someone gave an honest comparison 👍
Clinique's website sells a smaller version for $12 which would be comparable to the amount of product in the Neutrogena bottle. And of higher quality.
Renee Lofland really? I never knew they had a small version...
You can buy it directly from Clinique online. Ulta also sells the smaller size.

Elijah Florence that’s just a hydrator you need a moisturizer preferably one thats non comedogenic and is for your face
@@sassygirl1151 so u mean i should use a moisturizer and the hydro boost combined?
Never ever use body lotion on your face! The ingredients are different than that of facial moisturizers

Hi. Are there 2 formulas of the Clinique Moisture Surge? Isn’t one Regular formula & one is “extended”? I have dry skin & I love the Moisture surge. But I don’t think mine says “extended” formula on it. It is wonderful for us “mature” ladies with dry skin. 😃
Karen Allen yes, as far as I'm aware one is just moisture surge and the other is extended thirst relief... I love love love this😊
Loving your mono makeup look

Super useful....very helpful review
I have combination skin oily in T zone and my cheeks are dry. I get bumps when I use moisturizer I have tried so many but none of them work😔
Can you please suggest me which one is best for my skin??
You can try to apply products considering each part of your face. I mean on your T zone you can apply a gel which reduce sebum buy it doesn't dry out your face and on your cheeks you can apply another product, a gel moisturizer. The best thing to do would be to see a dermatologist to give you the best advice. I have oily skin and I use Tinero on my whole face. It's a gel thay reduce sebum. I don't know if it's available international but you can look it up. Also you can try a gel moisturizer from Avene, it's called Hydrance Aqua Gel. Hope it will help you!
Thankyou so much 😊😊
I'll try it now♥️♥️
What lipstick r u wearing?
What about the serum??
Me and hubby is using neutrogena. Were on 4th tub now. I want to try a new moisturizer bec i dont like it when its in a jar container and also we used them up so quickly. But aside from that, its the best moisturizer weve tried. Btw, were living in a tropical country
Jen Malonzo I really like this line. It does the job and it's affordable. I currently use Bobbi Brown products. They work great but they are a lot more expensive. You could try it but if both of you are using you'll need 2 of each as you'll go through them quick😘
I've done of video on what I'm using very recently
Vilma Martins kamusta? From the philippines 😊 thanks for the recomendations. I love your videos. Just subscribed on your chanel
Jen Malonzo thank you so much for the love and support 😉
