Cammus C12 Force Feedback is actually very good 👌

- Cammus comes with new design direct drive wheel bases and in that slim formfactor they managed to fit 12nm torque which is the sweet spot in my opinion for most of the sim drivers and all that in the most competitive price we have seen on the market. Just check the settings i share in the video and feel it for yourself.

Cammus certainly seem to have come a long way, and the offerings they have now are really tempting for anyone starting out down the rabbit hole of direct drive. I got tired of waiting for anything affordable around the 12-15nm mark and built my own DD wheelbase, but if this and moza's bases had been out then I would have gone for them.

@@disast1ckup it's not that hard considering most DD wheelbases are servo motorbased. For a cheaper option there's ffbeast that uses old hoverboard motors and can get up to I think realistically about 12nm of peak torque. I think that one's a really cheap option as most if comes to just under £200 if you hunt around for the parts.

In the settings i use that unit was getting just slightly warm without using the fan !
But those days in Germany is like almost winter 🤣
I guess will be fine in the Sommer too and the fan if is needed must do the job !
@@chepilevski that's good to hear man. Where I live East coast Australia it's pretty much 26° all year round. I always use aircon anyways as my media room is like a sauna 😎 once all my toys are fired up!
Loving WRC in VR lately 👌 Monte Carlo is obscenely difficult but that just makes it all the better! I'm currently trying to get used to a mid engine wrc build. Hardly even need the h/b 😚 Throttle control and biting that late brake is addictive albeit damn frustrating at times.

I’m actually looking to start a sim racing bar in my town and have been looking into what equipment would be most appropriate and suitable for my use case. Is the “longevity” worry a real issue at all?
Hey man, those are all new products and really hard to talk about longevity particularly in harsh environment you want to set them!
Because those will be used a lot and mostly from people who probably have no idea what are they doing it will be better to invest on something powerful and tune it down to take the longest life of it!
Also, you will need some silicon based wheels which will keep also for little longer!
Just remember that in your use will be like a real test for equipment being smashed from people who have no idea what are doing!
Sometimes I put people on my rig who don’t know anything about Simracing and is ridiculous situation which hurts me just watching 🙈

I personally have a SC2 Pro and I love it. I was maybe thinking getting the sc2 sport models. Or Would simagic/moza/asetek suffice in terms of durability? Something between 9-15 nm would probably be enough for a sim bar.
@@Stemura Simucube have prove to be hard like a rock and my SC2 pro had zero degradation for 3 years use when i tested versus SC2 sport and ultimate!
Maybe you can think also about VRS which are old systems but rock solid too!
Moza r12 will be good one too as you can tune it down to 6-7 nm and will be enough for most people!
Simagic Mini is better choice probably then R12 as have stand the test of time already and the Camus 15 nm model is very solid and powerful and good price with extra buttons!
I think I personally would look for those options in terms of value for that work

Per multiple reports in other videos and written user experiences: Adding a washer to each of the six bolts will allow wheels that don’t have the center cut out to fit this base without the issues he encountered here.

Hi, when you did the software installation and you came to the driver installation portion. Did you leave the three boxes for the drivers checked and did you answer yes or no when it asked to remove associated components before the install. I'm only asking because i had trouble with my first wheel after software installation, and communicating this to Cammus is difficult due to the language barrier.

I’m thinking about getting the Moza R12. Would you recommend the Moza or the Cammus?
If you want to save cash and you are happy with one wheel, the C12 is amazing for sure!
If you plan to change wheels in the future, R12 will be better choice!

Really glad this wheel doesn't look like it was made by fisher price like their 5nm or 15nm. Was my biggest gripe with their products.

Ah no buddy, it doesn’t need to be hidden as it is super compact, almost like a normal wheel with button box and 5cm extension

to all ney sayers with such a motor solution, many hybrids use such motors especially lorries/semi trucks. ie big diameter motors that are very thin construction/design just like cammus here.
Cammus produces electric go karts and probably takes it from there 🤔

It is not the prettiest for sure but it is great for the price for sure 😃

I've been looking for something like that .
It is called Sport Line 300 but it is not ideal for that button case as touch the button guards and interfere with the joystick and the 7 way switch.
I hope Cammus will produce something for the C12

The c12 ffb is absolutely insane. They are matching some of the better makers somehow lol
I think the design to the base is very special and they may be Abel to surpass the beat makers at a much less price due to how direct it is. It's attatched like no space you are gonns get a good experience.
Idk how they can sell it at this price but they just changed the market at 10 to 15nm. 12nm is perfection for most.

Also the many said doesn’t have detailed FFB but I guess was down to proper settings! It is really good and can be also super smooth or super harsh and anything in between! It is definitely matching the rest I’ve tested
@chepilevski that's really the issue even with other bases from brands is people don't truely understand settings. Like people who turn all dampening off, all spring force, all everything and only turn on the ffb power. It's like you do realize you are draining all effects right? Or weight, or return speed like the counter speed and reaction etc. People don't get it man.

Im a peasant using a g920 i'd love to have this wheel and its the only thing close to my price range but I'd still need to starve my 4 kids to buy it so its a dream to have one day..
Kids are resilient, and inquisitive. They'll figure out how to eat, go buy that wheel 😂
@jordankelly4684 You're right, there's plenty of rocks and dirt in the yard. That's what we ate as kids..
1 major downfall of this c12 is you can swap rims easily and no qr. besides that it’s decent for the price!
That build have also zero flex which I forgot to mention 😁

That wheel doesn’t fit perfectly in that button box and I had to make some modifications 😁
Because of the shape in the center it touches the buttons guards and I was afraid to tighten too much to not damage the trades.
That’s why I say Cammus need to develop there own cut wheel 🤛
