Beautiful, i also had the idea to get the moza quick release for the C12. Thanks to that I'm using the truck wheel TSW . Regarding the paddles I'm going to design and print some paddle extensions that slide on over the stock paddles.
Great review. Great job in less than 10 minutes. Btw: after a week or so of WRC23, Im obviously (just a bit) frustrated with its physics. Im Ok with the visuals and performance right now - thank God I waited 4 months to buy it. But the physics are everything I thought they were just by watching the Gameplay videos pre release. They are fun, no doubt, and they do make you feel like a pro, but its too easy to find that Grip after you Lost it. The front of the car rotation is weird. But I do have to say I thought I was going to be way more disappointed with the physics tbh. They are not that bad on the wheel, even tho a Lil bit more arcady than previous WRC games. Having fun tho... How I wouldn't...
Yes, definitely fun bit not convincing unfortunately. As you feel and as I've talked about, the game allows the player to drive recklessly and be rewarded instead of punished.
Thank you man! Feels so good to be able to release and talk openly about this device! I'm interested to see how people react to the way I mount wheels to it. It's the only way I can still do all my dumb wheels with it. Lol
Thank you much! I was thinking I'd do a voice-over video but I like free-balling it for stuff like this so whatever comes out, comes out of my mouth. Lol
This feels as powerful as the 15 nm DDWB to me...maybe more in some ways...I think it's the new motor design. I'm wondering if this is a 12nm holding, 15nm peak wheelbase...
@@DouglasThompson Hmmm. Yea, I think I would agree , It would make it better because of the coiling . The motor design is genius. From what I understand, its taken from some kind of robotics motor engineering.
I just got my c12 today, I can't really speak on the quality of the force feedback compared to similar wheels since I upgraded straight from a g920, but I can say it is a huge upgrade and overall feels pretty damn good. A few of the reviews I watched before purchasing mentioned they "couldn't tell" if it was fake or real leather, and I can confirm it is extremely obvious it's fake, the feel is OK but the smell upon opening the box was pretty intense. A few people have also mentioned how high quality the buttons and rotary encoders are, and from the perspective of someone who hasn't used any other wheels, I'd just say they're OK, not really mind blowing or anything.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing the paddle shifters are definitely nice, the force feedback does feel good, I just don't have anything to compare against, so I can't speak for how good it is against the competition.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing After using it to play American Truck Simulator yesterday, the motor in my C12 seems to be shorting out and it no longer works. We'll see how quickly support gets this settled I suppose. Right now it'll just crackle and pop while rotating while smelling like burning electronics.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing The support team did get back to me pretty quickly through discord, and after just a couple questions they are sending me a new wheel. A lot of people seem to say Cammus support sucks, but if you take into account they're in a completely different time zone it isn't that bad. Some people also mentioned that they make you go through unnecessary steps to try and fix the problem before sending a replacement, but I didn't experience any of that, I did post a video with my original message showing how the wheel was crackling and popping as it rotates though.
Only thing I would have to change besides the actual wheel like you did is the blue thumb encoders. Not my color I would buy red ones but that is just me being picky 😂
Yes, I agree, I think red would have been a better choice as well but I think they might be doing a slight rebranding as you notice they went with a white cammus logo instead of green. I think they are going with a more mature looking white and blue theme...I could be wrong and this is pure speculation but I have noticed a couple things by them recently shifting towards more blue hues.
Im not a fan of the yellow stripe, id prefer a white stripe or red. I think that might be luck of the draw though because i personally have a white, yellow and red stripe c5. @@SIMRIG412
Though I do think this is an incredibly interesting product, and I do like the idea of a one stop shop wheel/wheelbase combo, ultimately I would probably prefer if the button plate part was also removable so I can attach my DIY wheels. Regardless, Cammus becomes more and more of an interesting prospect as time goes on, I think I'll be pulling the trigger on their new LC100 pedals soon.
Also, I have suggested they release a wheelbase only version of the c12 so people could add thier own button box but keep in mind, you could actually use your own button box, it would look strange but it would work. Just put a quick release on the hub and add whatever usb button box you'd like. ;)
@Hakeem597 it's a clone so I belive I just looked for the cheapest quick release, you can use any 70mm qr. The cheapest ones change all the time because the stores buy a bunch and then sell out after a while. I just searched "70mm quick release" the one I bought isn't in stock anymore.
I have tried a simucube, it felt good but didn't wow me. Could very well have been whoever set it up wasn't in line with what I look for in ffb. I would love to try the Aztec forte!
you just had to show off your wheels didn't you ...C12 actually looks like a quality product. Well done Cammus. Brilliant idea.
It really is! There are more cool products coming down the line! I'm anxious to show off a new revised product soon. Maybe this weekend.

C5R (round) ????
The C12 looks great. I don’t need 12Nm, but all the combined changes will likely result in me choosing it over the C5.
That "and this is a wheel" 🤣
Lol glad you liked that part!
Lol, is this the wheel we saw on stream that one time and you said you couldn't tell us what it was yet? Looks amazing!!
Yes indeed, I might do a Q&A livestream focused on answering questions about it in a little bit.

can you showcase it with a formula style wheel?
I could probably show that off.

@@SleepyPantsSimRacing I would buy one if I needed a second rig! Or buy this for my gf to use instead of my simagic gear 🤣
Its the best travel wheelbase ever! Although the C5 is better suited for that because its more expendable. @SIMRIG412
These would probably sell like crazy if they had console support. A lot of people just don’t have the room for a huge rig setup.
The c5 has console support, I'm not sure if this one is a priority on console for now but I agree.

I would assume they will go stronger, but the C5 is already 7nm. I do think they might revise the C5 and allow users to do easier wheel changes.

what shifter did you use for cammus?
Also, do you also use USB adapter for shifter?
I'm not sure of your question? I use all my gear standalone most of the time.
hey, would you be able to see if a formula or a gt style rim fits the c12?
I have one but it doesn't have the hole in the middle. If I can find one for cheap I will consider it.
What quick release did you use for this wheel? And how did you get a bunch of adapters for the other wheels?
You can find these on ebay for around 20 dollars or so. I don't have the links anymore but you will find them on ebay if you search a bit I think. :)
I would drill a centerhole on the cammus plate and use that as a distance plate underneath an aftermarket wheel as the cammus plate is ugly anyway
You can use any plate just as long as the wheel rim itself has the hole in the middle.
Team Circle or Team Alien?
what kind of pedals would you recommend to go with that wheel? i only have a g29 and dont really know what to look for in pedals
You can use the pedals you have right now with a usb adapter. You can use anything as long as it's a separate usb. :)
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing what is such adapter called?
@philcrash7176 I think a few manufacturers make them but it's something like logitech usb pedal adaptor.
I wanna see a saw blade as a wheel. Pretty pleaseeee….
Already done. I'll send you the link.
