    great video. but in my opinion the roosting pole is much to narrow in diameter. this will cause too much pressure in the claws and can lead to infections (we had that before). now our roosting-poles are at least 2.5 inch (6 cm) in diameter. in nature they usually pick even thicker branches, as they are more comfy

      mites can also migrate into the coop and nest there. either you move your chickens to new sleep-locations once in a while or you help them get rid of mites. best option i found was fine ground basalt stone powder to dust around the roosting-pole. when the mites leave the chickens in the morning the crawl away to find shelter and eventually crawl through the stone dust that rips open their soft bellies (provided the pole itself is smooth and without cracks where they could hide).
