Thanks for the help man! I used 2 other different tutorials for homebrewing but neither of them went into how to properly setup your usb to play wii/gamecube games off of it. Took some trial and error to get the games to load consistently without crashing (lol) but now I can finally play Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights with ease :D
@@pepper8671 Not really sure tbh (sorry I know that’s probably what you don’t want to hear lol) The first thing I tried when my games wouldn’t load from the usb drive is change which USB port (sometimes I’d put it in on the left instead of the right if your looking at the Wii console from behind), I then restarted the usbGX loader thing after I did that and then my games would show up. Even if I got my gamcube/Wii games to show up on the UsbGXLoader menu thingy when I tried to play them they wouldn’t boot and give me an error message (This happened mostly when I tried to play scooby doo & dr muto for whatever reason). To fix this I just tried loading other games first like smash bros and THEN load the scooby doo one and then for some reason THEN it works (still not sure how though I just found it works through trial and error). Hope this helps!

Okay I’m very confused because allot of people say to use certain SD cards and USB drives… everyone says something different so can you please tell me what’s a good working SD card and USB that I can buy because I don’t wanna waste my money if it won’t work. I want a decent size too so I can put mostly Wii and GameCube games on it. My dolphin emulator runs games slowly sometimes so I bought a Wii to play on instead… help please!
If you're planning on putting games on a USB, then there's no need for a super large SD Card. I use a Sandisk 8GB and it has lasted for a pretty long time now. As far as USBs go, a simple 64GB Flash Drive will do the trick for around 30 games or so.
If it's a Wii game, then Wii Backup Manager will do it for you. For GameCube games, put the second disc iso in the same folder as the first disc and name it disc2.iso So you should have two files in the same folder called game.iso and disc2.iso (and disc3.iso, disc4.iso etc if the game has more than two discs)
I don't know why the version of usb loader gx I had, but it would not look for a usb connected device and would now see games on the sd card. I replaced what I had with what was in the wii package in your link, and that worked just the way it was supposed to. I had the latest version too.
Great tutorial! I I recently dusted off the ol' wii to start playing my GC games again. My only issue was that I was using a different version of USB Loader GX than the one provided in your package. I couldn't get the loader to recognize games from my USB Drive... as soon as I deleted the old loader version and put the package one on the SD Card - Boom! Worked like a charm! Thanks!
Some of the loader settings are actually pretty worth it because they let you mod a game👍 example project m which is super smash Bros brawl with the mod added to it
Just wanted to mention that not all usb work just make sure its not above 32g and not usb 3.0 at the same time so if ur usb is above 32g and usb 2.0 ur good But there is a solution for this if u got the 3.0 above 32g usb and its to format it to wbfs format but sadly u won't be able to store gamecube games :(

I'm not sure if you meant to say this or not, but if you want to play Wii games online you will have to click the "Private server" option until "wimmfi.de" shows up. Of course, you will need Wiimmifi for the online to work correctly.

@@SFproductions1 I tried multiple. and all the .iso files gave me the invalid wii disk error. I tried a .7z file and it managed to download but not transfer. I dont think .7z files are even valid but for some reason they didnt give the invalid wii disk error

@@LANCEMICKAEL i sorted it actually. When you rename the file game.iso and save it you need to right click properties and click on show file extentions. Because i typed .iso at the end when it came to actually show the file extention it was showing game.iso.iso so i had to delete the iso bit that i wrote myself. Then it worked. Just right click on game iso and look for show file extentions it was under the third or fourth tab on the right in properties.
1) I followed a tutorial on how to install USB loader GX and get games working that way and it worked great. My friend wanted a wii homebrewed so I assumed I could do the same process. I bought a wii that had nothing on it, so I copied everything from my SD card onto a new one for their wii. But when I opened USB loader GX on their wii and put in my USB with my games, only one game showed up. However, it showed that the space on the USB had been taken up as if there were 20+ games on there. The USB works fine on my wii through USB loader GX so I don't know what I did wrong. I then tried a tutorial for WiiFlow on my friend's Wii and using the same USB from before, it showed all the games I had downloaded and they worked no problem. My question is what did I run into that made USB loader GX not work on this wii but it works fine on mine? 2) Back to my Wii, I wanted roughly 50 games to play so I downloaded the 50 games. I put the USB into USB loader GX and nothing showed up (even when I selected the box that checked off only Wii games). But the space from the USB on the bottom of the screen showed it had been taken up and that there were in fact games on the USB. I then took off games until there were only 24 left. I put the USB into the wii and booted up USB loader GX, and all the games showed up and they all work. My question is that I see people online with hardrives with thousands of wii games on there and no one else seems to be having my problem so I don't know what to do? 3) Can you just download GameCube games onto the same USB drive of your wii games and they'll both show up in USB loader GX? No one can really seem to help me out so I was hoping someone could tell me if I need to install another channel. I have Nintendon't but haven't tried it yet. I wanted to see if I could get everything on USB loader GX for less confusion. Thanks so much. Love the videos.
I found the fix. You need to transfer every wii games iso wbfs to usb stick using wii backup manager for games to work. Lol. Im stuck on this error for three days. (Iso wbfs --> wii backup manager --> usb stick)
@@SFproductions1 so why everyone says in every video tutorial to put it on SD card? If is not on SD card you can't install it as loader. You can run it from hdd but you must have it on SD card inside the console. When I'm trying to run games directly from Nintendont which is installed from an SD card I get red error which says this : "NO fat device found, or missing usb:/games dir!". The hdd is formated as fat32 with 32 cluster size and it has the games folder on it.
@@SFproductions1yes you can load it from hdd as long as the Nintendont exists on the SD card which is installed on the homebrew. As your own video shows you need an SD card you didn't show only with HDD how to play games and launch the emulator directly from hdd. Why you need SD card?

for game cube games you can just put it in a folder you don't need the game ID

For the top one on the d2x iOS installer, I don’t have the option for beta52 d2x-v10-beta52. Should I choose something else?

I have Wii Sports & Wii Sports Resort the combined game disc. It won't load, just goes back to the Homebrew Channel when I start it.

For multi-disk gamecube games, you need to name the first file game.iso, then the other discs as disc2.iso, disc3.iso and so on.

You may need to redownload iOS 58. Just Google iOS 58 installer for Wii and they should get you what you need 👍

issue was I was using Nkit haha. But now that I have that working for some reason the games do not show up in USB loader not sure why

are you using sd card or usb drive, im using a pny usb 128gb thumb drive that i cant get gamecube games to show up in usbloadergx after trying for hours
@@LANCEMICKAEL i sorted it actually. When you rename the file game.iso and save it you need to right click properties and click on show file extentions. Because i typed .iso at the end when it came to actually show the file extention it was showing game.iso.iso so i had to delete the iso bit that i wrote myself. Then it worked. Just right click on game iso and look for show file extentions it was under the third or fourth tab on the right in properties.

1) I followed a tutorial on how to install USB loader GX and get games working that way and it worked great. My friend wanted a wii homebrewed so I assumed I could do the same process. I bought a wii that had nothing on it, so I copied everything from my SD card onto a new one for their wii. But when I opened USB loader GX on their wii and put in my USB with my games, only one game showed up. However, it showed that the space on the USB had been taken up as if there were 20+ games on there. The USB works fine on my wii through USB loader GX so I don't know what I did wrong.
I then tried a tutorial for WiiFlow on my friend's Wii and using the same USB from before, it showed all the games I had downloaded and they worked no problem. My question is what did I run into that made USB loader GX not work on this wii but it works fine on mine?
2) Back to my Wii, I wanted roughly 50 games to play so I downloaded the 50 games. I put the USB into USB loader GX and nothing showed up (even when I selected the box that checked off only Wii games). But the space from the USB on the bottom of the screen showed it had been taken up and that there were in fact games on the USB. I then took off games until there were only 24 left. I put the USB into the wii and booted up USB loader GX, and all the games showed up and they all work. My question is that I see people online with hardrives with thousands of wii games on there and no one else seems to be having my problem so I don't know what to do?
3) Can you just download GameCube games onto the same USB drive of your wii games and they'll both show up in USB loader GX? No one can really seem to help me out so I was hoping someone could tell me if I need to install another channel. I have Nintendon't but haven't tried it yet. I wanted to see if I could get everything on USB loader GX for less confusion.

Yes but you need Nintendont on your sd card for them to even show up in USB loader. But yes they can be on the same drive as the Wii games

So once i open wii backup manager it asks me to format my usb to wbfs format? Not make a folder.. Then i can't read the drive until i format it

If you play your game using nintendont you can use your saves from a gamecube memory card
If you play using usb loader gx it will save to your usb

I found the fix. You need to transfer every wii games iso wbfs to usb stick using wii backup manager for games to work. Lol. Im stuck on this error for three days. (Iso wbfs --> wii backup manager --> usb stick)

You can install nintendont on usb and you can run gamecube games directly from nintendont yes
@@SFproductions1 so why everyone says in every video tutorial to put it on SD card? If is not on SD card you can't install it as loader. You can run it from hdd but you must have it on SD card inside the console. When I'm trying to run games directly from Nintendont which is installed from an SD card I get red error which says this : "NO fat device found, or missing usb:/games dir!". The hdd is formated as fat32 with 32 cluster size and it has the games folder on it.

@@SFproductions1yes you can load it from hdd as long as the Nintendont exists on the SD card which is installed on the homebrew. As your own video shows you need an SD card you didn't show only with HDD how to play games and launch the emulator directly from hdd. Why you need SD card?

This can be very useful if your Wii/Wii U disc drive isn't working with reading discs
you still have to insert the disc to load the game onto the usb

It's just better to load the apps from an SD card. You don't necessarily need it
