Ax41's are great. Ran them on the Africa twin and my crf3oo. Theyre not great in mud or slop but no tires really are. Went to d606/mt21 on the crf now and make like this even better.
@@FIREBIRDMAN6285 I have used them before on a DR650, amazing tire, one of my fav! They will be going on my 300L soon. I want to put them on the twin, but they are softer, and wear out faster than many.
I have an 21 ATAS DCT. Didn't like the stock Karoo Strrets. I loved the Mitas E-07+ on the rear. The front wasn't too bad. Needed a new rear during the MA-BDR to a TKC70. I'm heading out to the West Coast from the Midwest, and these are definitely on my radar. Great video, duder 🤘
This was a fun ride. Thanks to your other AT AS ES and DCT and, even TransAlp, videos, I made my decision and just purchased my '24 AT AS ES DCT!! It's now being outfitted with some farkle before I ride it home.... It will be my first AT or DCT ride. So, I'm studying up on that - a lot. I noticed the new machine is spring Bridgestone AT41 Adventure tires. They look pretty street-biased to me. However, that's OK, because I'll be learning to ride AT, as well as DCT, on the pavement before venturing off pavement. Nice and easy, as you have suggested. Thanks for all your really fun and informative videos!!
Well, one of the few who actually said how noisy they are! This is one of the hardest things to get answered. I see you don’t have the bike or tires anymore, what are you using now? Is there a tire with the same abilities but not so noisy? I was thinking about the Dunlop Mutant tires but they don’t have the same off-road ability…
One of the nicest reviews on a product I’ve ever seen. Also, your riding in that particular terrain and being able to talk in a relaxed manner about what’s going on at the same time was very impressive. I was curious if you have done any kind of significant hill climbing off-road with those tires or if you have a review of that coming or already posted?
I got these tires on my KTM 1290 SAS. Can't say about offroad performance because I haven't yet done any offroading except for a small stint on a gravel road, but the onroad performance is great. I'm currently on a trip coming back from Norway and there were a ton of twisty mountain roads and some rainy rides as well, and I completely forgot I even had installed these tires at the end of last riding season. That should tell you how well they work onroad 😅
I ride a ‘21 ATAS DCT. I got out of the stock tires at about 1500 miles and I went with the Michelin Wildpeaks and LOVE them. I do ride more technical trails and also lots of canyon carving and they are amazing. I won’t get the mileage the Dunlops will but when I was shopping I was worried the harder durometer would slide in the canyons and I thought they were very heavy. I am a more aggressive rider and so far really like the performance I’m getting from the Michelins but I’m also encouraged to see the Dunlops hooked up for you without side slip. I might try these out next time. Thanks. I also have a CRF 450RL and run the Tusk adventure and they are amazing tires. Great on road for a knobby and hook up confidently in the difficult single tracks.
I ran this on the rear on a 4 day 4500km quick blast across the country. Terrifying in rain. It would free spin while passing cars, the bike would kick sideways when you hit black pavement patches as if they were ice, I had to dodge these patches like my life depended on it (It did). Wouldn't buy one again, rock hard rubber, it doesn't even flex when I put my entire body weight on it sitting off the rim in my shop. Probably last 30,000km though hahah. Not for aggressive riding and crushing 1200 km days on a loaded bike.
I have them on my R1200GS, ran them on my 790 adv for a while, great tire, got a little over 10000 miles out of them. have a set of Motoz tractionator adv on the 790 now, they're better in the loose stuff, not as good on the road
If you are ever in east Texas I would love to throw a leg over your bike. I am really considering an ATAS as my first ADV bike. Currently have a CRF300L Rally that has just about every mod you can throw at it and want something bigger my wife can ride with me on for longer trips. Just not sure if I am going to like DCT and that seems to be the only model available everywhere I have looked.
I also have a 300L. Video coming up comparing the two, ask weird as that sounds, lol! Also put the 500X on your list of bikes, no Africa Twin but a great option.
@@adventureundone I plan on keeping my 300L Rally and wanted the AT AS for rides to Colorado or Big Bend State Park with lots of highway miles. I ride the 300L pretty hard and have already done cams, tune, intake mods, and full Rally Raid suspension and I will hit the 26 mile Enduro single track loop at Barnwell Mountain with it with no issues. Just want something with more power for a pillion and luggage. I am 6'3" 260lbs and when you add Pillion and luggage the CBX is too small. My main concern with DCT would be wheelies over obstacles if I am riding solo in rough terrain.
I can tell you categorically that I’ll never run Trailmax missions ever again. Great street tires but terrible off-road. Ran a set on the IDBDR in 2022 and still have nightmares. Motoz all the way!
What tires do you use on you Africa Twin or ADV bike?

same tires, but on a 24' AT. video on them coming soon

Meant to say anakee wild. Boy morning pre coffee is bad.
Where do you ride? Near the coast?

I run one on my rear, and for a 50/50, they are very good. BEST though? It really depends on your use case.

@@marcochavanne you can wheelie an DCT perfectly. Dont worry about that 😅

I would not call this riding you did "off road."
