Sailing - June 27, 2024

I hadn't sailed since I was much younger, but recently found a 1977 MFG Sidewinder (hull number: 1969) at an estate sale. The boat had been sitting for over 25 years and needed some love and some work. Renamed the "Lycka Till!" (Swedish for "Good Luck!") this was the first real day out on the sailboat. Loads of fun, I'm glad I found her. Still some work to do and things to learn.

This boat was designed by the world-famous designers Rod MacAlpine Downie and Dick Gibbs. It was built in 1977 in Lasalle, Michigan. This boat was first moored in Kellogg, Iowa, then Engelwood, Colorado, before coming to River Heights, Utah in 1997. She now hails from South Jordan, Utah, and goes pretty much wherever she is towed.
