- West Visayas State University offers its BS Biology Program with 3 different tracks; Microbiology, Biotechnology and Medical Biology, but there are other tracks to so here are my take on it... I based this on a Facebook post I saw ... CTTO

Kudos! Thanks for the info! On our school, napaka liit lang ng population ng mga gaya satin na BSBIO course. Its like they think na di siya trendy and boring hehe but then I am very proud of the course Biology, I highly recommend this course for those people who want to pursue life sciences fields someday! SAME!!! In our province sa Aklan (WVSU is in Iloilo), there was a time daw na 20 plus lang kumuha and kalahati lang ang grumaduate and hindi nagshift... I really look forward to continue inspiring more students to take up BS Bio cause... Why not? hehehehe God Bless satin ❤️❤️

Hello po!actually po bago lang po akong subscriber niyo and I really thank you po na nakita ko tong channel nyo giving me a motivation and tips for Entrance Exam and Biology classes churva hahah. Im might be taking up an entrance exam at WVSU next year kasi grade 12 palang ako sa pasukan and Bs Biology po ang kukunin ko as pre-med if ganoon po pero query, lang po if magastos ba yung bs bio or same as nursing din po?
Really have no idea sa gastos ng Nursing, but since free tution naman po kami both nursing and bio only need to worry about school stuff.. sa Bio most of the books are meron namang pdf and we rent books from our seniors too tsaka konti lang po books namin... tapos specimens glass slides school materials and events lang po usually ginagastusan po namin... 😁 Anyways Ill really try to ask some of my nursing friends on this and come back to you 😁😁

Hey going back to the nursing part, I asked a friend and sabi nya po same lang in terms of books pero medyo madami books and medj pricey pa siya. and may 3 types of uniform pa nga kelangan patahi... tapos every rotation sa duty, may mara gid na requirements na needed like for example sa delivery room ka, you need syringes, bandage scissors, surgical scissors, forceps...

Hi, I'm not as sure because tatlo lang specialization sa school namin.... baka more on research field, specially sa denr like monitoring endemic species... SIGURO hihihi not really sure uwu

If systematic biology ang specializtion mo, you could either be A museum curator or taxonomist (researcher) pde ring both. Kasi systematics is all about classifying organims based on their phylogenetic history.
Hi, marami po ba applicants for bs bio major in medical biology sa wvsu? Its my 2nd priority course kasi and I won't be able to take my first priority course due to some circumstances. I'll get accommodated for my 2nd priority course if may slot pa sila na available. That's why I want to know if marami applicants for bs bio-med
Actually maraming nagaapply for BS Bio, regardless of track kasi yung majoring is 3rd year pa naman so you're basically competing with those na hindi med bio yung nilagay... same same lang kayo... Anyways my suggestion is just have as many back up plans as you can, muntik rin akong di makapasok sa west despite topping local college entrance tests... God, or whoever you believe in will put you in the course and school where you belong 😁 God Bless 😁

Im really sorry, Im not so sure, but usually if you take another course after bio, ibabawas lang nila yung units/subjects na nakuha mo na so depende parin talaga sa units mo nung nagbio ka 😁

Hi, better take zoology or animal bio for undergrad and pursue MS Wildlife Studies (UPLB has a good program related to this) if you want to proceed to grad school in the future.

Hello! Gusto ko po sanang mga BS bio (pre-med) pero yung inoffer lang po nong univ e BS bio (plant biology) possible parin po bang makaproceed ng med nyan o di po?
Hi! Yes po, wala naman pong required na course when you want to proceed to med... kahit anong course pede kahit hindi pa nga aligned to med like ab english, pol sci, tourism... pede parin magproceed 😁
paano po kapag gusto ko ng microbiology, ang itatake ko po ba bs biology? or derestso bs microbiology na?
kasi nag check ako sa ibang college wala silang mga ganyan bs biology lang naklagay
There are schools with direct unit for microbiology meaning you can take the exam for microbiologists after graduating. A lot of schools do not offer microbiology as a track, but still you can take microbiology units after graduating or take masters in biology para makakuha ng exam 😁
Paano nman yung marine bio?
if you chose microbiology or biotechnology po ba anong career? possible po ba magcontinue ng med school kung hindi medical biology ang nakuha? thanks po!

Every degree program can pursue med school . Even electrical engrng undervrad pwedeng magmex

Actually dont have idea cause Ive only been exposed to Microbio, MedBio, Ecology and Biotech na curric the others na included in the video I only found out on the net from other schools that offer the specialization.... 😁
hello po, what's the difference between bs bio, bs bio-med, and bs bio-micro course in west?
BS Bio Med is somehow a preparation for when youre in med, so there are units for like anatomy, hito pathology and the likes... while Microbiology in west covers required units for when you plan to take the exam for registered microbiologist so there are units for food microbiology, virology, and the likes...

Hello po! Nag-stop muna ako for this school year since hindi ko na po talaga kaya ang architecture. Ang balak ko po is mag-enroll as a freshman in different school as BSBiology student. I wonder po if matatanggap ako or allowed pa rin akong mag-enroll sa bsbio?😭
I think yes mostly in private schools... some SUCs kasi hindi tumatanggap 🤞🏼

Hi, we are actually covered by the free higher education so we dont pay anything (other than PTA fee), pero if ypu opt not to grant the privilege then the tuition is around 8k per semester 😁

Kulang pa. We also have Wildlife Biology in UPLB. BS Bio in UPLB offers 8 majors/specializations.

I am honestly unsure because our school also does not have a program in Genetics, but I'd personally go for any specialization rather having no specialization 😁

I think it depends po sa school na papasukan mo... sa WVSU po kasi is 3rd year pa po kami nagspecialize 😁

Gusto ko po talaga BsBio, kaso nag iisip po ako kasi sabi ng iba maganda lang daw siya for Pre med?😔 But yun nga sabi niyo po may mga specializations siya like Microbio which is pede maging Microbiologist.
yup, I think the reason na maganda daw syang pre med is due to the subject load... We have physics and chemistry as major subs which prepares us for nmat... pero marami rin namang field na pede ipursue (mostly research) if you take bio 😁

Hi po, yes po as long as you take up a units for teaching or get a program po like "Diploma in Teaching"... In SHS and College I think you can teach even without this, but you will eventually have to take Masters...

not necessarily... there are diploma courses if you want to take another specialization, but for our school for example, we are already taking our specialization starting our 3rd year 😁

Books are also available in pdf pero nung face to face di naman masyadong mahal yung books... Lab materials like apparatus mahal... pero bumibili lang naman kami pag nakakabasag kami 😁

Mahirap naman lahat ng course specially if hindi mo sya gusto or hindi mo pa sya gusto... Biology is basically more of memorization or familiarization, but there are also a lot of math skills needed for Physics and Chemistry 😁
