So I was curious to see how Conan had reacted to the previous election (of Trump), as he is no longer on TV in 2024. Not surprised to find out he was super classy and non-partisan. I have the greatest respect for this man.
The one thing I always admired about Conan is on full display here. He didn't go for the cheap shots. The easiest thing in the world to do that night was bash Trump. If you're a liberal in Texas or a conservative in New York, you get no influence on the election. I don't really understand it all that well and I was thinking it should be a popular vote too. But my mom was telling me, she's much older and wiser (supposedly) that without the electoral college all the big cities would basically control the election. Like Texas is supposed to be a red state but the main cities like Austin and Houston are mostly blue but the rest of the state is red. So to get a fair vote from all members of each state the electoral college runs a mini election in a way between the massive cities and the small towns. And LA and NYC are definitely mostly democrats and they're the largest populations of all. Montana and other small population state's votes would be lost in the crowd. I think that's the logic.

Like Texas is supposed to be a red state but the main cities like Austin and Houston are mostly blue but the rest of the state is red. So to get a fair vote from all members of each state the electoral college runs a mini election in a way between the massive cities and the small towns. And LA and NYC are definitely mostly democrats and they're the largest populations of all. Montana and other small population state's votes would be lost in the crowd. I think that's the logic.
ramonypony but that's stupid. just count every individual vote. apparently that's what popular vote is and that's what is used in several other countries like mine (Portugal). and it seems a hell if a lot fairer if you ask me. every vote counts and every vote is the same because what you'd want is majority. one has more votes than the other. because even being a sympathizer with Trump's policies, after I saw Hilary would win with popular vote but lost anyways, I honestly thought it was rather unfair

Conan is soo right about the other countries.. i live in the middle east and ive always dreamed of an opportunity to be able to vote and know that my opinion matters. Conan never went FULL woke, i never really saw anything bad coming from him, hes the best late night host my generation saw in my opinion. Didnt like him at first, then watched him more, and i love him.
This is why Conan is awesome. He can give a great, thoughtful analysis of the election without crapping on half the people in America. Unlike the rest of the late night hosts who are calling half the country racist. I mean, Seth Myers was literally crying on TV while calling people sexist over not voting for Hilary for the pure fact that she's a woman.
