I am checking out the entire course. I am learning to mix Gospel. The reason this course is so popular on your channel is simple. First, you are good at what you do. Second, there is not a lot of mixing of Goepel on TH-cam. Finally, you have separated the course into sections. That allows folk to watch was pertinent to their situation and not have to wade through a video trying to find what's needed.
Honestly, I don’t look at the meters too much. I leave them in Pre-Fader so I’m alerted if the tracks I import are clipping or not recorded well, but other than that I’m only really concerned about the master bus level 😉
@@MixChecks thanks for the reply one last question if you don’t mind..let’s say I got my drums or vocals all in a bus and I eq and compress them on the bus.I don’t seem to get it if I have to go back to the individual channel and tweak it some more.should I just work on the individual channels?
@@hdocguy4883 There's nothing wrong with tweaking the individual channels after you've set up bus processing. Just make sure anything you do to the channels doesn't majorly affect your bus procession. For example, if you add a bunch of low end to a kick drum going to your drum bus, it might make your drum bus compressor react differently.
@@hdocguy4883 thanks so much for checking them out and asking questions. Your questions definitely help anyone else that sees the video and might have the same question.

Quick question...I notice you static mix/rough mix in pre fader and your plug in when would you not use pre fader metering?
