I was just about to ask on R2R about these then I found the thread talking about them. I personally welcome this. the price of MP10.40s are out of this world. I do have 2 mp40s...but hopefully these kick ass. I have about the same success rate as you.. so I am excited.

It may be a small detail, but, i feel as if the rubber boot that covers both the wet/dry side units is a required piece to compensate for the small nodule in the center of both pieces.
I'm really excited for this product. I can get the mp10 equivalent for £90 shipped here in the UK. If I wanted that means I can replace all 4 of my old, noisy mp10s for just over the cost of a single mp10. There's no justification for the cost of the ecotech product, and I feel like jecod have done the hobby a great service by offering a cheaper alternative. It's not just budget reefers either - I'm lucky I can afford ecotech but I struggle to justify it because I know I'm getting ripped off, and that the product isn't worth the price tag.
@@adamratz8689 In the video, I mention the version and equivalence. This is the DMP-20, shown in the video. The closest equivalent would be the DMP-10. Its top flow rate is 1,400 GPH, while the MP10’s top flow rate is 1,500 GPH.
@@adamratz8689 No worries. I haven’t tested them in the tank, but they do feel solidly built. The DMP-10 will get you close to MP-10 in flow terms. And man, ReeFis really are such damn good lights.
The suction cups on each part... that's gonna help this a lot... especially on the wet side spinning. I'll get like 4 for the price of one. Yes I'll be buying these. It's ridiculous how much Ecotech for these wavemaker.

Ecotech had innovation on double top secret tap when they were going to release a distributed controller, but the Aperture acquisition negatively impacted that. Their innovation is stale, and products like ReeFi, Quanta, EcoFlow, Orlushy, and Jebao continue to whittle away at Aperture’s access-reducing price elasticity profit model, and our perception of Ecotech’s “bests.” That, and their marketed, but not actual, superiority. This is an exciting time to be a budget reefer. Huzzah!

My prediction is just a slight hum from the dry side that can only be heard the closer you get to the unit, also hoping the 3D printing boys fabricate a new pump guard for wider flow sooner than later.
My first thought. Yes it is the jecod versions of the MPs. But the more I think about it. How much different can anyone make these to avoid being called copy cats? Unless I have a very uncreative mind. I don't see how much different they can be so make a pump that is like it but maybe improve upon it? I guess maybe the dry side can have a slightly different design. I just applaud they coming up with their own version and not try to milk a consumer for their hard earn money. I am with you across the board on this thought process, brother. The insane over-the-top greed just has to stop. Those same greedy people are always trying to push “growing the hobby.” I know how they could actually help grow it: stop throttling reefkeepers for every last cent they’ve got.
China factories and build quality has upped thier game in the last 10 plus years. The aquarium hobby in china for saltwater tanks has exploded in popularity. And the products coming out for it will just get better .
best part is since there Chinese company they don't have any lawsuit or patent worries, there products are great have seen lots of people using the wave-maker and the light and had lots of great reviews. Also what ecotech pays to make there products is so tiny compared to what they charge the consumers the public would be in arms if they actually knew.
That spark is because you've plugged it in and turned it on without joining the cable. Never do this. Always plug it all together before turning it on.
No, that’s not it. The spark occurs when I plug the power supply cord into the control box. It only happens a fraction of the time on a Jebao product, but this is a common flaw with their kit, and a known thing.

No, friend. I’m saying if you’ve got the power cord plugged into the wall, and then you plug the other end of that cord into the control box, there is sometimes a spark that occurs with a Jebao product.

If I plug a Jebao product into the wall FIRST and then plug the other end into the product, there is a spark that happens all the time with EVERY product I have named JEBAO. I just remind myself to plug it into the wall LAST instead of first.
Ecotech is highly extremely over-rated....been through 4 wavemakers and 2 return pumps. Meanwhile have an almost 10 year old jebao products still running strong...

I think this is great for the hobby, bc I think a lot of people want something like ecotech but can't afford their outrageous prices.

Jecod could have also sold them at 50-70% the cost of the ecotech and it would have felt like a bargain, but 30% of the cost is incredible.
