    Wow, what a beautiful city. You did a wonderful job of capturing the essence of Bruges. Side note, love the Star Trek reference, lol.

      Ah your too kind Mr Sage :) Yes it really is a beautiful city. One to consider if your ever doing a European touring holiday. The wife and I love doing these city breaks and I always try to get out on a run while we are doing them. Hope your keeping fit and well my man and many thanks for dropping by and taking a look. 🖖 live long and prosper! 😏

    Stunningly beautiful place! I live in a place that knocks everything down every 30 years or so - so it's nice to get a sense of real history! Thank you for sharing!

      Ah thanks Paul :) yes could feel the history of the place for sure. Buildings there from the late 15th century!

    Love the old architecture on the continent, thanks for the video. The beer is great as well. I once ordered a drink in Ghent from the medieval times and it came in a glass held by a wooden frame which is what they did before modern glass technology could add the handle.

      Thats crazy you mention Ghent Tadeusz! I was just talking about that place! I also had a beer in Bruges in a wooden frame. The glass was in a shape of a horn!!! Really appreciate you watching 👀

    What a beautiful getaway! Love that you went for a run around town, it's interesting seeing the different cities far away. The buildings in the center city are beautiful and with so much character. That was a scenic view from the bridge Phil, lovely! I bet your BD weekend was wonderful!

      Hey Gill 👋 Yeah we had a lovely time 😊 I love Belgium craft beer so I was my element. I did 3 five mile runs while I was there and this was the only one I filmed. I just wanted to focus on enjoying my running and not thinking what next to say to camera!! One of my runs took me through the train station and right across the main square! Hope your keeping well 🙏

    Loved it Phil, thanks. Bruges is a beautiful city and that brought back some memories. My wife and I went for a weekend break some time ago. That central square area is beautiful, we had a boat ride down the canals- wonderful. You showed the very bridge from which I accidentally dropped my camera SD card and saw slowly sink. We never got to see the surrounding areas so you filled that missing part in nicely. Take care, happy 50th birthday.

    What a beautiful city. I think you’ve picked the ideal way to explore it too - on foot. That’s my favourite method to get my bearings in some place new. I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay. And yes, the outfit is a little Star Trek TNG, but it looks modern! As long as it’s doing it’s insulation and sweat wicking duties that’s all that counts 😅

    Oh my God Phil, I am not sure how my notifications didn't show me this. Happy belated 50th. This city is gorgeous, those little historic houses were like in a fair tale. What a cool way to explore the city/town by running around it. By the way, you know when you said, "It's cold", trying to make a friendly conversation, and the person replied, "It's winter". It's because in Britain you guys tend to start a polite friendly conversation by stating the obvious facts about the weather. I am used to it by now, and don't notice it anymore. In fact, I do it myself now. But when I just came to England I found it strange that people I didn't know just stated the obvious facts to me like, "It's raining" or "It's cold". I didn't understand that it was just a conversation starter, or even like a "hello". I was so confused as to what to reply to it. Have you read Douglas Adam's Life Universe and Everything? He mentioned it in there. I wish I had read it before I came to England. Anyway, it's just a cultural differences which I don't notice anymore, but I can understand how people might interpret it differently.

      @trailrunningphil  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes very good point about the weather. Us British do seem fixated on it! I loved Bruges. A wonderful place and so easy to get too from here too! Only a few hours on the train. Thanks for taking a look :)

    Happy birthday Phil. Loved this, reminded me of a trip I took to Bruges about ten years ago, involved a lot of drinking rather than running but good times! I'm backing the Star Trek look for future runs, looks legit 👌
