I visited Bruges in early April 2009 when I was eighteen (but turned nineteen in the same month). I went there with my father by the way. Bruges is a picturesque city in my opinion and it has lots of historic buildings and architectures. I thought it looked like we went back to the medieval times! We didn't visit any museums unfortunately but we only wandered around the city, that's all and we also visited the clock tower known as Belfry of Bruges (Dutch: Belfort van Brugge). This famous medieval tower has an incredible view of the city. I just loved it there. I'd say Bruges is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, not just in Belgium 🇧🇪 or Europe. I'd love to visit there again sometime in the future. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
Watched this video last year when we were planning to go to Belgium. And we finally visited Bruges this year. It is probably the most beautiful and peaceful town in Belgium. We tried to compare it with Ghent in our travel vlog, because we found Bruges lot more captivating than Ghent.
Great coverage with excellent explanations . Glad to watch this video. Long time ago, I had been to this city. Kind regards....from.. Castle-Mahansar, Rajasthan, INDIA.
Bruges isn't as expensive as one might think, considering it's so often jammed with visitors. Prices in general are typical of this part of Europe, and things become more affordable if you go at least a few blocks away from the main squares in the city center, especially with hotels and hostels.
Isn't as expensive ? Go for a ice cream and a coffee for three in one of the shops around the square and then call back to me 🙄🙄🤦♂🤦♂ (By the way : i'm from Bruges)
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
It was great. I wish we would have stayed in Bruges instead of Brussels. Or in Amsterdam which we are in now . We are close to finishing up our trip, then back to Germany Sunday and Tuesday back to the US.
We went here yesterday and we saw the relic that contained a cloth with the actual blood of Jesus. I dug into it at home and it was the real cloth. I didn't know it was hidden there and it caught me by surprise when I walked inside of the Cathedral. The priest was guarding the relic and praying. She invited me over to take a look. My wife, I and my friends were almost the only ones in the church, so really amazing.
Hey guys, im thinking about visiting Belgium but i have not to many days. The thing is, im gonna be sleeping in Brussels, i thought: 1 day for Brussels, 1 for Ghent and 1 for Antwerp. Do u think I should change to doing morning in Bruges and evening in Ghent? I dont wanna go around in a rush. What do u think I should do? Missing Bruges?
Personally, we think the highlights in Belgium are Brussels, Ghent and Bruges. We’d skip Antwerp instead… Bruges has lots of medieval architecture that you can’t find anywhere else. Brussels has the country’s icons like Manneken Pis and the Atomium, and Ghent all together is an amazing city with a vibrant center, beautiful castle and true Belgian culture
We will be there is September! Local friends will give us a tour. Have you heard of a candy called noses? My daughter wants me to bring her some…. Okay, watching your video now! Thanks!
Welcome to Brugge... I hope you enjoyed your visit. But you don't get the Van Eyck museum. He was one of the Flemish Primitive painters. He was tasked by the Vatican to paint a portraid of the Pope. 'That' was the money he used to start a hospital here
Hello, I’m planning a trip to Belgium, knowing that my partner isn’t at all into visiting museums, how much time do you think we should spend in Bruges and Gent?
You could spend a day in each if you want! There’s other things than museums, like the boat tours and castle in Ghent! But the cities aren’t that big and you can definitely walk around the city center in a day. Enjoy the delicious food and try some Belgian beers ☺️🍻
Not sure you can fly it there. We actually used stock drone footage in this video... you should check the local rules before going. It's a beautiful city though and can easily be combined with Ghent as it's so close as well.
That's because during the World War, the Americans who were located in the French speaking part of Belgium thought they were in France. They were getting fries from these small fries places and started calling them "French fries".

Hello I am a writer working for a Korean SBS broadcasting station. Our program is planning a broadcast with the theme of "Belgium" Can I use your youtube video as a broadcast material? We promise to use it after we indicate the source.
Good video! Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!
Thanks for your comment! In Belgium most people do speak English so you can easily get around without learning Dutch. But it’s always a bonus to know the language! We love learning different languages… have been learning some Spanish over the years and it’s very helpful when traveling around South America!
@@worldwildhearts I was born in Bruges. Vol au vent is popular but I think French Fries and steak or stew is number 1. Good video's, travelling is the best time of the year! :-)

2:13 "frietmuseum", dat klonk Nederlandstalig hoor :-)
😮😮😮wow amazing❤i love Belgium❤
Why are they called french fries if they derive from Belgium? I always wondered about that (I'm half Belgian)!
That's because during the World War, the Americans who were located in the French speaking part of Belgium thought they were in France. They were getting fries from these small fries places and started calling them "French fries".
One of my list to visit this october :)

How much a ride in the canals
You can find a link in the description to see boat tours. Prices have been going up in the last year so hard to say exactly!
Back during the Chromofix days, Bruges saw some strange occurrences because of that Dicker Addison fella.
Changed that city.
Never heard about him!
Do most places take credit card?
Yes absolutely!
Thanks

No judgement!! We’ve never watched it but maybe we should 😌
Mc Donalds has potato fries too.Melaka in Malaysia has boat tours too
