I'm serious about you guys sending that dude from the jared dines video a signed shirt. I would have never known about you without him, and look at how many other people he brought here \/ \/
Dude why would you ask them to send a signed shirt to someone who they won't even know where to send the shirt and on a song that is from 2008 this is a big bruh momentum
This album was incredible. I couldn't believe these guys where only teenagers when Kezia came out. Being a prog metal fan and musician, i can say these guys have worked there asses off too be that talented, so young.
I feel like that part starting at 1:25 is just such a great summary of his vocals. How quick he switched from high cleans to high dirty vocals then repeated that pattern and then went into this sick deeper growl. Favorite part of this song. I think. It's all just awesome.
Rody is awesome mostly because of his vocal range. That changing from fry scream to falsete/head voice is actualy the easiest thing he does on this music
I don't. We already have songs like this. New stuff is great. Just in another way. I've been a fan of many bands, some have released 5 albums that sounded the same. Some have released 2 good and 3 bad albums. Not PTH. I love (or at least like) all their work. Sometimes older, sometimes more recent, but really I can't find anything that is really "weak" - which I can't say about many bands really.
It is incredibly well composed music, far above what their contemporaries generally produce as far as melody and harmony. Rody and Luke in particular are extremely talented at melodic invention and very underrated in my opinion globally. You just cannot fuck with these guys, heads will roll.
They were way ahead of their time but also perfectly timed foe the Era. Its hard to describe because when these guys came out it was unlike anything my friends and I heard before.
His voice is amazing, I've never heard anyone say they hate it and if they do they clearly are not a vocalist. You may not love his style, but any vocalist can appreciate how well he stays in key and changes octaves. Bravo
The moment I fell in love with this band is when I heard and saw this video for the first time on Headbangers ball when they were still running it at midnight. Haven't looked back since. Fucking love these guys. Sidenote "Mist" gave me a new reason to live haha.
Yeah it was like in 2008 They still had an hour block of metal music around the same time infomercials played cause they were deep into not giving a shit. I would dvr and watch after school.
Chris Matos yeah I go back to the 80's with EMPtv when they actually only played music. Good times back then. I can't believe they played metal up until 2008, amazing. Now its al shitty "reality" shows right?
I honestly don't know since I don't watch it, but I wikied how HBB was doing, and apparently it ran on tv until 2011. Now its exclusively on their website, but who ever the producer was on that show was I commend them for trying.
These guys were one of the first bands i saw live with Silverstein in Guelph Ontario back in like 2004 or 05 or some shit and this stuff still gives me goosebumps. Who is here with me in 2024?!?
I've listened to all their albums i could find. I couldn't get into Keiza and fortress. I like the style of Scurrilous and volition much better then this. Eh i guess i'm alone in that but oh well.
I can honestly say in 3 years I have never gotten bored with this song! Quite frankly the best song I've ever heard, ever. Stays so fresh, it's actually unbelievable.
Been listening to these legends for 15 years, but I'm glad Jared gave them some more exposure. There's just not enough appreciation in the world for this band.
3:30 That drop. It beats every dubstep drop I've ever heard. So much tension, and then BOOM. Speakers or headphones with good bass response are a must.
Being a fan of Melodic Death Metal (must capitalize), I sometimes have a feeling of exploring the softer genres and from time to time i am hooked on by some of them....some.
Alejandro Aburto Well, I didn't say the "core" part. I listen to pure melodic death, no core. But if you want some core bands, here are some- Asking Alexandria As I lay dying All shall perish Suicide Silence Bring me the horizon But if you want melo-death with no core- Amon Amarth Whispered In flames Dark Tranquility Arch Enemy Katakylsm Callenish Circle Ensiferum (?) Eluveitie (?) The last two are a little bit more folk.
Okay, this band is perfect in my opinion, I've always said that I love metal guitar and drums just not the screaming vocals, this band has the perfect balance And yes, Jared Dines interviews led me here😁
4 years ago, I had a friend beg me for a ride to a show. Long story short it was PTH. I thought pretty much the same thing you did. But after seeing this band get down live. It changed my life. They put on one of the best show's I've ever seen on a tiny stage, Just mad spirit They love what they do and they're truly masters of their craft both inside and outside the studio. I look forward to enjoying as many records as this band will make. And I hope to see them many more times.
I know exactly what you mean that the world wasn’t ready for them but they came out exactly at the right time too. Absolute game changers that inspired a great deal of the big hammerhead acts that dominate today. They’re like the best kept secret in tech metal
This man is a god. If you don't like his vocals, you're too used to the same shit every single band churns out year after year. Protest The Hero are perfect.
Hands down maybe the best range vocalist ever and I listen to everything and I mean everything. Opra singers can't compete with this guy on range. Love this band
I went to my older brother's high school talent show 8 or 9 years ago, and some sophomore did an onstage guitar cover of this. Probably the very first time I heard metal, and it's stuck with me since.
My mind was blown ten years ago when this was first released... it continues to be blown to this day. I love your music, guys. Keep crushing it (like vermin)!
Here after the Jared Dines video with that one guy naming a bunch of PTH songs
Lol me too
Same
Yee nigga uwu
Yeah same here. These guys are pretty great musicians. Although I'm not digging the vocals, they have some killer talent.
Sameee
I'm serious about you guys sending that dude from the jared dines video a signed shirt.
I would have never known about you without him, and look at how many other people he brought here \/ \/
Dick Steel me neither, I just came to see how bad they suck and I’m not disappointed
@@h3llokimmi3 wtf u mean how bad they suck?????????? they are actually good

Fact!!!
Yep
144p for real Power!
aaaaay beautiful
that guy from the Jared Dines video was so into pth that i had to check them out. thanks guy.
Comments:
10% anything about the song
90% Jared Dines
More like 1% to 99%
Song sounds great. Hope to hear it on Liquid Metal tomorrow.
Who's Jared dines?
Here 16 years later, begging for a HD version of this absolute classic. 🙏
Came here because of their #1 fan, featured in Jared Dine's video. And how I come I have been missing them for these years?
Me too, sick band
That guy should get free tickets for their concert
Me 3
can someone link me the jared dines vid?
idk which one everyone is talking about here
I know what you mean but this is just an average pth fan
I'm 31 and I remember being 14 and my friend Randy and I chilling in his jeep to PTH. Good memories, better times.
also 31, i was 14 when i found these guys, have loved them ever since!
Jared dines brought me here. Not mad about it.
Ryan B. Jared Dines brought me here...Big mad about it
That guy with the PTH t-shirt showed us grace under pressire.
Ahh, 144p, got to love both of those pixels
Has it always looked this bad? I don't believe it. I remember this looking pretty good 15 years ago. Why does it look so absolutely crushed today?!
New phones with much higher resolution cause the 114p to basically expand on hd and 4k screens to a point of extreme blurring@@Reapertips
@@billaubin14 this makes so much sense!! Of course screens have evolved. Even 1080p stuff on my 4k screen looks aged.
Thank you Jarred Dines pth dude 😂
That’s why I’m here too. The guy is a legend
The same here :)
well hello gentlemen
Same hehehhe
Totally hhaha, came here after that video
if someone had that amount of dedication to a band, they must be kinda good
Really? Do you like music? They are more than kinda good 👍
Dude brought so many people here lmao
Thats what I was thinking
I was here since i was a teen i am 30 years old now. Got the first cd signed, kezia also my daughters name and signed by rody and luke.
kezia is a rad name for your kid. most folks won’t know where it’s from so it isn’t too corny that u got it from pth. i dig it.
1:40 DADADADADADAADADADA OOOoouuhhhhrrrrr
This guy gets it
Best part of the song for me loll
amazing touch to an already incredible song!
So predictable yet so satisfying
This album was incredible. I couldn't believe these guys where only teenagers when Kezia came out. Being a prog metal fan and musician, i can say these guys have worked there asses off too be that talented, so young.
Can't wait for this kind of music to get popular again

I agree, dude. It's pretty sick.
Rody is awesome mostly because of his vocal range. That changing from fry scream to falsete/head voice is actualy the easiest thing he does on this music
First time listening to this song but i thought the same, he has some great vocals
Jaime Hernandez Why cant i find people like you eho actually like them in real life lol :(
check out - black peaks, vocalist does that all the time, its dope!
240p should be illegal
its a video from 2008.
3m7c I didn't even know 144p was a thing. What in the..
watching at 144 p😝
jared dines's protest the hero superfan is giving this band newfound popularity lol
Their Fandom has never died. If you were ever lucky enough to see them live you would understand.
Obligatory, here from jared dines dude
2:22 till the end is probably one of the most beautiful compositions ever honestly.
I have been searching the name of this band for year. This song is in my head all the time. I will never forget again.
Still jamming with my clam out in 23’
Yeah we’re still here
@@javierflores7rts we still in 2024
You know what brought me here.
all hail pth guy from dines's video
Jared dines I guess 😂
My undying love for this band brought me here😁
Holy shit, Jared Dines... That that guy is a huge fan, respect!
I miss when PtH wrote songs like this
Scurrilous and Volition are good and solid albums, but Kezia and Fortress were really pieces of art..
*****
strange it's the only one that made me go ''meh'' after all these pants-jizzers they did before. So much 4/4.

They were way ahead of their time but also perfectly timed foe the Era. Its hard to describe because when these guys came out it was unlike anything my friends and I heard before.
1:00 - 1:14 will always be the best bit of music I've ever heard, the backing vocals are just too perfect
It's like Dillinger escape plan every time I die between the buried and me all rolled into one
To me they are like a more technical periphery
@@theraildynasty_ sorry I guess I was thinking old school seeing as periphery weren't a thing or at least what they are when this song was released
Thank you to the Protest The Hero Shirt guy form Jared Dines' video.
Been following this band ever since this track was released. One of my all time favorite tracks. Never gets old.
This band got slept on.
...to this day i'm still blown away by how much musicality they smash into not just this song, but any song they write.
who here after watching jared dines Interview

Still my favorite band of all time. Fuck everything else.
for fucking real!! there is no other music
first thing i spotted in this clip
Same I always turn everything else off, everything is generic and mainstream
I miss my homie moe and arif that’s why I I’m watching
Genuinely don't know how you like this, something I would've wrote on guitar when I was 15
Fortress was their best, hands down. Heavy wise and talent wise.
Tho the lyrics in Volition are pretty fucking awesome
I've listened to all their albums i could find. I couldn't get into Keiza and fortress. I like the style of Scurrilous and volition much better then this. Eh i guess i'm alone in that but oh well.
Demoncry54 i like them all. each one was unique in its own right.
Demoncry54 No you're Not Man !
Kezia all day
I can honestly say in 3 years I have never gotten bored with this song!
Quite frankly the best song I've ever heard, ever.
Stays so fresh, it's actually unbelievable.
My favourite band ever. Been listening since Kezia days. Just hope to watch you guys live one day :)
Love the frantic sound they make. Thanks pth fan guy.
1:45 still gives me shivers after almost 6 years
How about now after 10 more years? 😂
The last minute of this song is comparable to something really good. like kittens.
I think its great this band is getting recognition they deserve. Been a fan since 2008.
The bassist and lead guitar are insane, as well as drummer , they timed this song so perfectly holy crap
I will never grow tired of this song.
This was probably the peak of their career as songwriters. Since this is so good, I aint even mad
I disagree, this is more technical, but the actual song structure and formation only got better.
But Volition is soooooo good
I used to play the bass of this song every day. Every. Damn. Day.
That's how good and ahead of its time PTH are
Came here to check the band after Jeremy's video
Good job guy with the T-shirt
Holy shit am I glad I checked these dudes out
Uff... woke up this morning with this earworm.
Revisit the song - see its 16 years old - feeling old again 🤣
Still a killer record...
I caught my girlfriend sing this along with me WTF, I think I'm gonna marry her.
You are a very lucky man
Indeed, thank you!
You're welcome (:
Did u marry her? How are yalll? Burning curiosity.
Aaron Walker Well I finally grabbed my balls by the taint for some courage and now we are engaged and doing very well. Thank you for asking. :)
Idk know any of there other stuff but this song is an absolute monster definitely a classic
Been listening to these legends for 15 years, but I'm glad Jared gave them some more exposure. There's just not enough appreciation in the world for this band.
2015 , still getting goosebumps everytime i listen to it..
Eder Horta 2018 and same
it's the fact that my geometry teacher showed me this band. cx

Rody was channeling Voldo from Soul Calibur in this video.
I was thinking the same thing
I can’t believe it’s been 12 years already. The late 2000’s were a great time for music.
Over a decade old.
Makes me feel old
The outro 2:59-3:35 always hits me like a cargo train
This band still holds up. Saw them in 2011 with Scale the Summit and it was so killer.
Pth fan on jared dines video was so hyped.... had to check it out for myself . Im impressed. 👍
Could they please upload this in at least 480p, seriously....

Who came here after Jared video ?
Everyone.
Yeasssss
I did 😂
I haven’t seen Jared dines video, I just like this song bc it came up on Spotify randomly
sure
FFS. Is this genuinely the best metal track ever put to tape? I can't stop listening to it 10 years after I discovered it!
Being a fan of Melodic Death Metal (must capitalize), I sometimes have a feeling of exploring the softer genres and from time to time i am hooked on by some of them....some.
Hit me up with melodic death core bands, I also love that shit
Alejandro Aburto Well, I didn't say the "core" part. I listen to pure melodic death, no core. But if you want some core bands, here are some-
Asking Alexandria
As I lay dying
All shall perish
Suicide Silence
Bring me the horizon
But if you want melo-death with no core-
Amon Amarth
Whispered
In flames
Dark Tranquility
Arch Enemy
Katakylsm
Callenish Circle
Ensiferum (?)
Eluveitie (?)
The last two are a little bit more folk.
Morgoth amon amarth and in flames are great. Core music gets a tad irritating after a while. I like more substance to my music.
I was thinking something more like erra, delusions of grandeur, volumes etc. Ill check those bands out anyways thanks
Alejandro Aburto No problem
Okay, this band is perfect in my opinion, I've always said that I love metal guitar and drums just not the screaming vocals, this band has the perfect balance
