My favorite handhelds of all time are the Rg556 from Anbernic and the Rgb30 from Powkiddy. This thing being the love child of the two is like a dream come true lol

The performance is the same as the RG556, the D-pad is pretty much the same glorious unit as in the Anbernic Arc, and the 1:1 screen has been found in enough other recent handhelds that you probably already have a strong opinion about it. If all of those aspects individually are desirable to you then something with all three should be ultra desirable. Hit that pre-order button. Do it! LoL. It's so much easier to spend other people's money than it is to spend my own. I'm in the same boat as you. I want this Cube so bad...
@@janX9 depends how they build the device. It doesn't have to be a 1 to 1 clone also they already made the gba sp. so I think they can make the ds next tbh or some clamshell dual screens type device. Cause they are already a ayaneo flip. so I think his company can make something like that too with ease.
Please make one of these with a 4 1/2" or 5" screen that has a 3 : 2 ratio to fill the gap between the RG Cube and the RG556. Basically an updated spec version of the RG405M but with a 3 : 2 ratio and plastic with stacked shoulder buttons. It would give us a better than 4" screen for 4: 3 games and still give a respectable 16 : 9 screen as well where neither has large black bars.
It’s such a shame they didn’t go for an OLED display. The aspect ratio leaves a ton of systems with borders and it’d be amazing if those could be invisible due to an OLED.

Lets get gamma os and proper video out with powered hubs and then this would be so great :) I always wonder why these manufacturer refuse to work with the community when its the community that purchases these and keeps them relevant with software updates etc. ? Like you guys do amazing hardware, but really need help on the software side, let us help you! If anbernic worked with US they could have the best devices !
They believe their software gives them a competitive advantage. Also, they may have used open source code without respecting the license terms (eg: publishing the resulting code). Some manufacturers even scrape the chip markings to prevent hardware cloning.
I don’t understand why they keep going back to loud micro switches for the shoulder buttons. It makes the devices unplayable at night or with others in the room. The RG353P and ARC both had perfect, responsive, and QUIET shoulders. Why not keep the superior design?
Hi, why does this advertisement show hdmi output as full screen on the tv? All the reviewers that have tested it say it only outputs a 1:1 mirror square which is terrible. Please tell me you are fixing it in an update to output full screen to the aspect of the tv like your other devices (the recent SP does this).
Looks great but still think I'd be happier with a lower spec linux based version. I just want to play arcade classics and gameboy/nes era stuff on this form factor. Would have been happy with Powkiddy RGB30 if it was not for the fact that Powkiddy have no quality control. Would have loved an Anbernic quality direct competitor for the RGB30 but this device is undoubtedly taking things to a much higher level..... that's all fine as long as the price can be kept reasonable.
On the white one, are the non-facepad buttons/d-pad the same shade of white as the body? Part of the video they're the same and parts they're different.

I suposse others said it, but... the power of the chip exceeds the target of the 1:1 screen format (GB, GBC, vertical S.E.U. and Pico-8, not Ps2). 4:3 is more adecuate to the possibilities of the chip. DS and 3DS, more less ok. But the two screens seem too small. RgArc needs a more powerfull chip, and RgCube needs a 4:3 screen 🙈
Like the screen ratio. Would be good for vertical shooters but those god awful sticks are a deal breaker. Anyone know if we could chop them off at the tops and replace them with thumb sticks like those from the Odin 2 and the like??
Pease help, I have searched for hours with no solution to what seems to be a simple problem, I have a San Disk SDXC 64GB card, formatted to FAT32, I have an Anbernic RG28XX, I copied the files from stock SD card exactly to the new SD card, however no matter what the anbernic will only turn on with the stock sd card, even though the replacement is correct size, correct format and has exact same data, can anyone help?

They already have the 556. The perfect device for 3: 2 would be to just stretch the 405M wider to a 3 : 2 ratio so that you keep at least the 4 : 3 content at 4" . Somewhere in the 4 1/2" to 5" for pocket ability

3:2 equals 15:10. In my opinion, if you're going to make a 3:2 handheld then make it just a hair wider so it'll be 16:10. Many Android tablets, computer monitors, and the Steam Deck are all 16:10. 3:2 screens slightly squishes 16:9 content horizontally while 16:9 screens slightly squishes 3:2 content vertically. 16:10 screens give you the best of both aspect ratios as they are capable of showing all 16:9 and 3:2 content un-squished.
For the RG35XX H I thought it MIGHT be on purpose to make D-Pad emulation on the stick more angular. Which I'd still disagree with but I could at least grasp that there might be logic there. But on a 3D-focused device with a full-size analog stick? Is this the preferred way for an analog stick to work in China? What's going on?

It does not touch the battery, it has an air gap. There is also a few YT videos now solving the noise "issue" of the buttons, just put tape and done.

I dont see the "noise" problem....I like the clicky buttons. It's not an issue, its just preference.
