Hi. Did you also use the insulation and underfelt collars? It seems there three different things you can get to go around them and I'm not sure if they're all necessary?
They aren't all necessary, but when combined they do create a very secure/draft proof system. I didn't get them because our Architect had specified to over-board the entire loft with 20mm PIR anyway, so an additional Velux branded collar was overkill...

As far as I'm aware you can't buy them direct, you have to go through a retailer/stockist who has bought them. But I think that because they are such a common/popular choice, the price is relatively stable across different sellers - I doubt there's much difference. Unless someone is an online only retailer and has lower overheads, perhaps?
Bit of a cowboy job how the felt was cut back and not dressed right up around. Bet your client gets a leak in the future with torrential rain. Also never seen them fitted with glass in - almost like you didn’t know how to take it out! Notice no insulation collar either!
It's funny because growing up, all I ever saw were unsplayed ones, so that was the norm. Now I've seen them with angled edges, it looks odd, but a part of me prefers them because of the extra light
@@OfficeBoyBuilder horses for courses as they say. I think unsplayed is the more modern approach nowadays. They look more contemporary boxed in square and the extra light is negligible when you have three plus windows on the other side like me 👍. Splaying them in also requires every angle to absolutely bang on as they look a mess when plastered up if even one edge is out slightly. Good luck with the build, mine gets plastered up on Friday and is going to take 2 plasterers 7 days!
FYI - you can remove the window for insulation to reduce the weight.

Why have you not double up on the side rafter joists from top to bottom, I thought this was required for building control??

4 years on and not a single leak...easy to sit and be a keyboard warrior though, much harder to start a channel and post content to show how it's done
You don't need a Stanley knife to open the Box
Internal openings not splayed to encourage air flow and maximise light.
I haven't put the plasterboard round yet, that's when the internal wall will be splayed out...
They look loads better unsplayed in my opinion.
