Stella was actually a nurse and this game was about all her patients and the memories are first you reliving your own and then your final moments with them as well some stella knew personally while others she just cared for at her work then one day she went as well. Everybody died in their own way like Deer lady died of lung cancer, She never saw her uncle die so she wasnt there to see him cross thats why you dont send him through, old mouse lady died of old age, giovanni (i remember his name cuz i loved him) died of a heart attack, little mushroom boy died sadly as a child (i dont remember how) and the others im not so sure about but everybody was related to stella in their own way like the snake lady was actually stella's aunt's wife and deer lady was not her sister but her actual best friend (i think so anyway probably not) but basicaly stella was the spiritfarer because her job during her life involved helping those who needed it to pass on and then she passed on herself.
Atul hit me hard when I played Spiritfarer! I put off his tasks because I didn't want to see him go and but I never expect to not even get a goodbye, or still last hug. But I guess that is some deaths where you don't get to say goodbye.
I think with Atul he wanted the final Goodbye to be the dinner. As happy as Atul was he showed hints that he couldn't take seeing his loved ones cry for him. So my assumption is after everyone goes to bed Atul swam for the Everdoor himself so he wouldn't cry when he left. I can understand why he did it but part of me is still upset he went off alone.
I am just playing this game, and I agree, goddamn uncle up and left, no hug! 💔
I’m not sure why, but I cried hardest when Giovanni left. Something in his dialogue sent me 😢 .... This game is so special, even though I completed the game weeks ago I still think about these characters and actually miss them a little. Just what we needed this year I think ❤️

i literally just teared up as i am watching his dialogue.
Atul is my all out favorite character next to Mickey/Bruce and Stanley. Such a fun Uncle figure who takes anything without complaining. But after I heard he just up and dips after you finish his quests marks it as the most bitter of the bittersweet goodbyes. But I completely understand why he did it..he probably didn't want to see his niece (the player) so upset when he DID go, so it was probably the greatest option to leave himself to stop that. After all, he couldn't stay forever...
I'm just glad his last night with everyone was a happy "family" meal with the passengers on the boat. He always loved family get togethers.. ❤

After I played this I binge read the wiki - and Giovanni & Astrid are like surrogate grandparents to Stella, who she met while traveling before becoming an end of life care nurse :)

When I first played this game Giovanni’s words cut me most and also was most comforting considering I played the game just a month after I lost my dad this year. It was definitely something I’ve needed to hear. Especially bawled my eyes out at the “I will still be with you by your side.” And the “I just wish I could’ve watch you grow up some more.”
It's such a heartbreaking game in so many places and different characters hit people different, a masterpiece
I too played soon after losing my dad and Giovanni hurt so bad. Especially when his story centered around his cheating and how he described Astrid...it sounded like my own life. I didn't get to say goodbye-- he passed very suddenly, so getting to hear all these words from Giovanni was such a comfort. No matter how many times I play this game, saying goodbye to him always brings me to tears 💔 I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you've been healing well ❤
I like how i know none of the characters and haven't played the game but i still cried my eyes out

Alice hurt my heart…she was so sweet
I didn't think I would cry at giovanni but I bawled. Alice actually gave me closure about my nana Peggy. She had dementia and I never got to say goodbye to her as she lived in Ireland and I live in England. I feel like I finally had the chance to say goodbye to her.
Aww I don’t wanna cry 😭😭 Alice’s failing memory hits too close to home, it reminds me of my mom and auntie, both have early signs of dementia 😭😭😭 such a beautiful game, you giving them voices made it feel all the more real. Well done Morph 😊
Also I dunno if this was ever mentioned during the streams but some native Americans believe that when you die, you appear in the night sky as a star to look over your loved ones and to guide them on their way in the world after you’ve left. And the constellations bit reminded me of this 💫

@@MadMorph it’s okay I’m use to it now, it’s a great way for me to reminisce with them about stuff from their pasts. My main concern atm is what are they gonna call me next 😂 the last time I saw my auntie I got “oh hello you” how are you, you?” 😂

Stella's goodbye was the saddest for me and got me bawling. My dad (and other close relatives) died when I was young, so though sad, I understand that death comes to everyone, there was nary a tear when the other characters died. When Stella was about to go, I stayed in the boat alone for several days/weeks, getting achivements, unlocking recipes, exploring the world, doing one more thing to do before I die...delaying the inevitable. Then, came the moment when I realize that there's nothing I can do in the game anymore, and that I must go. There's the sinking deep pit feeling in the stomach when I realize I must die. It felt scary, but I know that it is something I must go through. When the ending credits rolled, tears were freely streaming. I just felt very sad to let go of life.

Having lost my dad a couple of years ago, Giovanni's words just break. me. up. About always being there and believing in you? That was always my dad tho. Gwen's speech is pretty rough too. So, thanks for the good cry, I'm a mess now! 😭 But it's cathartic, right? Start the week fresh!😄 Liked seeing it all put together, thanks 💕 🐻

Bruce and Mickey. Everything about them is just so well made, like the choice of spirit animals for them. I always wondered why mickey was so mean and it was so heartbreaking finding out he just didnt wanna accept his brothers death. Him carrying the weight of his brother because he didnt wanna give up on him...
There is also Jackie, seeing the notes he written was too much for me :(
I'm sorry, but the part of Stella's Good-Bye when the piano crescendos, and Stella and Daffodil exchange one final hug- ... When I tell you that part completely OBLITERATED me... I just have no words; eyes did all the talking :_/
Summer, Stanley and Astrid broke my heart... hated Atul just leaving too. No goodbye :(

I felt that. Typically only need handholding in scary games, but I appreciate it during this game, too. Appreciate you! Now I'm going to go finish sobbing now.😭😭😭❤️
Stanly was like my son and I was so shocked seeing him while playing and cried so hard when he left.
Yeah same!!! like. The moment I realised the implication that Stanley was a child I was already mourning. I was literally talking to my family about how "there's a child now. I'm going to have to guide a child to the afterlife. This is going to be worse than Alice. Oh god"
I hope that when Stella goes through the Everdoor, shes reunited with everyone again in her true Afterlife. After all she was there for them, so how appropriate that they send her off as shes saying goodbye to the boat and Buck when she accepts that it's her time.

Up there on the list of best games ever. I've watched your original playthrough a few times. Thanks for this compilation. I find it hits harder than the full playthrough - I guess because the story is played out more rapidly - so I find I have to pause from time to time and take a breath.
The ending got me. The way it’s so silent,so peaceful. Just finished this game last night. Really shows how hard things can be. And the end,the silent hug with daffodil. That…was hard. How she just picked daffodil up,and they went away. Man,this game broke me hard.💔❤️
My friend bought me this game after my dad died and boy. It was cathartic to cry and relate.

I want to give you my premium view, but I am 100% sure I am going to cry. Tried to listen to OST on youtube before and immediately started weeping. Spiritfarer is such an amazing, magical and special game, I've been thinking about it for weeks after completing it and couldn't fill the void it left in me with any other game since. I loved everyone, balled my eyes out sending everyone away (Elena, surprisingly, hit me especially hard in the very end) and when I hugged everyone's ghosts on the ship before my own last trip to the Everdoor. The story, the animation, the MUSIC - everything was perfect. I am so happy you are featuring this game on your channel so more people will know about it and hopefully will fall in love with it too!♥️

Azul hit me the hardest, by far. I dont cry often and most other spirits leaving did nmot make me cry. But i was sobbing for Azul.

I know this is an old one now. But during Gwens when he reads "Crap, I feel so selfish now." Actually made me laugh out loud. I really enjoyed this game a lot though.

As a sentimental little bitch, this game really hit me where it hurts lol. Oddly enough, Gwen, Summer, Gustav, and Astrid’s deaths got to me more than the others and I have no idea why because there really doesn’t seem to be a correlation between them all
