- After playing Sky for almost a year now, I continue to see a lot of people make the same mistakes as I did as a newbie, including friends whom I play with x'D thus, I thought to make this video, in hopes that it can provide some fresh information for whoever watches. Using friend emotes such as the high five or hug also instantly restore light for both players. Nice video, definitely recommending this for some of my moth friends
Thanks for the tip! I think I only ever used friend emotes while friends and I were both fully charged, so it's really cool to know something new!

"Step hopping" is crucial for sticking landings and saving falls without wasting flaps, and I learned it from this very video a while back. Thank you

A recharge method i love to use is with my friends. if you have unlocked the hug friendship level, you can hug a friend to help recharge them or yourself. this only works when you're both lit, but the speed is amazing! its almost as fast as an instant recharge and can be used anywhere with no cost! i hope this helps!

Its even better if you have level 2 hug! the little heart just makes it so much cuter!
You guys don't need to have the hug unlocked! Any friend emote works! Extending your hand to someone will instantly charge your cape! Letting them attach themselves to you doesn't work tho!

new players, it's good to practice flying in the 4/4 area valley of triumph (flying race area) cuz it has a lot of still air that recharges u up as well as keeps u afloat, also it has tricky round metal shapes hanging around, practice flying through those, at first you'll bonk and hit way too much but by practicing you'll become more efficient. starlight desert is also a good place to practice, fly with the clouds in daylight prairie to get more control
Really useful. Im always skipping to save my wings and i see everyone else just flying with a battery/friend 😂

(I know every comment is a variation of this but I had to do it) also yay I’m not alone in using bonfires. I have the ultimate gift one so I will just plop it anywhere. It’s the only ultimate gift I’ve ever gotten 😂
Pahaha I'm glad you think it's interesting at least! 😄 Bonfires are so good! I joined during the season of rhythm, so I missed the bonfire ultimate gift 🥲 it's definitely the most useful ultimate gift though!
One thing I would add for something you can do in gliding mode is banking to get to higher places, like the last level of vault or even the wind walls of home space. If you angle your trajectory so you're always flying a bit to the side, you can get a little more lift and even beat the mantas to the top floor with 9 flaps if you start flying right away.
I'll give it a try! Gliding was pretty much intuitive for me so I never paid attention to how I actually glided lol, so this is a good point. I'll take notice of it next time, thanks!

Same. I got a bit better after I used chibi mask then stopped using it thou. Chibi is more slippery so even when I'm bad controlling it, I got better when control my Sky kid in their default height.
But I'm still soooo bad at controlling camera movements 😭

embarrassing story:i'm a moth and i was trying to fly through this narrow hole but i get gliding down and bonking my head on the walk after a few tries a chibi had to help me

One tip i have that not many know is, you know when you’re on a ledge and you’re trying to get down but you sky kid is scared and won’t go down, make sure to be sliding before reaching the edge, in other words hop a little before reaching that way you start sliding and when you slide of the edge your sky kid will not be affected by any gliding assists and gravity will pull you down, allowing you to maneuver up and down without the useful but yet annoying gravity assist. You’re welcome

I've been playing for a long while but I didn't know you could flick towards a ledge if you're a bit too low. That'll save me a lot of frustration.

this video is lovely! your voice is calming, everything was explained very well- i’ve been playing for 4+ months and didn’t even know some of these! however, you seem to have neglected to mention that you can roll upwards and downwards as well (with the former being very useful for retaining height in glide mode)

thank you so much! im a moth, and my flying is the clumsiest. i had to ask some of my veteran friends to help with me with some of the sunny forest winged lights and the bird call emote because im a beginner when it comes to flying - but this video is very helpful and well-made!

really interesting, never knew about flicking on the directional pad! I've always wondered why people are able to hop on those tiny footholds so well when im always missing them with the jump tap and struggling to face the direction i want to hop to!
