I run an older Denis CIMAF and love it but since they sold out support kind not the same I have to be honest. The guys building the shearex used to work for Denis CIMAF and are Great group of people and still help me with the CIMAF mulcher.

I went and looked at Shearex before I purchased my FAE head. Way too many quality control issues on the one I saw on the lot for me to take the plunge on that one instead of sticking with a well known brand. FAE all the way. Hope it works out for ya my friend!

Love it, just a tip i run 13 ton 313 cat, 323 cat, and a 336 cat with FAE mulcher heads, bigger you go the more weight but not necessarily more speed compared to a 300 CMI mulcher dozer, a 336 vs a mulcher dozer will lose, depending on the ground, obviously rocky ground the excavator can mulch everything standing up.
But just a tip, im sure your dealer will tell you but I suggest a Soild case drain, not quick coupler.. we actually run direct on our 323 and 330-336.. the 313 has quick couplers but they create so much heat and burn out and leak. In your area you probably dont need carbides, its mostly clay and not much rock.. inless your ground engaging alot but you can do lots of tricks, i find centre of the drum is the best speed.. or if its a big stump you can chew away at it with the front or swinging left into stuff.

@@cotontop3 if you ever look at other skidsteers the new 299XE D3 Land Management ones are some bad mother truckers.. my cousin/boss has 15 of them, make sure they are the Super High flows.. but I ran excavators mostly and was very dumb hard headed to not run a skidsteer or the mulcher dozers.. but I got into a 299 with the FAE hesd with Carbides and it eats, once you understand how to use the mulcher on the excavator, you learn abunch of tricks by staring at it for thousands of hours lol
Id love to try a ShearX, my cousin is a diehard Open Drum Carbide guy, been running them heads for the last 17 years.
We got 2 bite limiter FAE heads with knives and he never ran them, someone told him he would bend the rings and I said fck no, you cant bend those. But he sold them, never tryed it. But we are all over Ontario Canada so there is lots of rock.. Southern Ontario has the pipeline running thru farm fields and those heads would have been a beast.. but the Open Drums are reliable and not worried if you hit a rock.

Quick couplers usually see a lot more flow than what they can actually handle. I don’t know how many times I’ve swapped out QCs on brand new pieces of equipment because the owners actually used full flow more than a few minutes at a time. Sometimes just bigger QCs, or I’d put in some short lines and two high pressure ball valves per line. Some of those ball valves hit twelve hundred apiece! It really helped though, especially on the power pack machines.
That thing is a beast! Can't wait to see it in action.

The washers appear to be Nord-Lock washers, which is the cats meow of lock washers.

Those are good mulchers for sure, never ran a shearx before but I've ran a fecon, they are no joke, you can definitely mulch in some tight places, thanks for sharing Tim🇺🇲💪👍🤙✊🌲, was wondering when you was gonna get one, had a feeling it was a matter of time before you did, get that thing hooked up lol
