That is a MIDI-controller in the shape of a guitar, with keys and a set of strings that have a MIDI pickup (though I've never seen him play the strings.) It's hooked up to the monster computer rig that Pendulum has (you can see them behind him and plays different synth-y noises or triggers samples.

I remember being disappointed with their "evolution" as a band at the time, having been a fan since I was in high school in like 2001.Then this song comes out and I got so hyped because I figured maybe In Flames was going back to their heavier and more metal roots, even though this is a collab with pendelum I still had hope for that. Turns out I was wrong and they've been getting more and more mainstream with every passing album. Their latest album is almost unrecognizable to me. Sad. But at least I've still got their old albums and this song to enjoy. This song very much reminded me of something I would've heard on "Come Clarity" which was their last enjoyable album in like 2006.

The scream from 0:44 to 0:50 gives me chills, Anders is so fucking awesome! In Flames is my favorite band (Started to lissen to them when I was like 5) cus of my best brother that played them on our old WINDOWS 95!!!
@lennythecow123 I dont know what it is for sure, but from what I could tell when filming it's some sort of modified synth box, so it's shaped like a guitar, but has buttons on it instead (not too unlike a Guitar Hero Guitar) which I imagine are programmable. I uploaded a few other videos of Pendulum from this festival, you'll probably see it better in one of those!

@meermans According to some wiki'ing I did to find out (curious myself) it is indeed a sort of handheld synth that looks like a guitar.
