- Grant Moon describes the steps to a correct horse evaluation, to establish if the horse is sound, to look for medial to lateral balance and find the center of articulation, ensuring perfect horsehoe fit and total comfort for the horse.
heute mit grant in dortmund war einfach super intressant vielen dank
The horse was a horse supplied for a demo and was grossly overgrown. I was holding the distal end of cannon bone , yes the heels are very under run on the one foot and on the other are upright, , so was a high low horse. The hair line is important for dynamic evaluation and indicates much in medial lateral balance, the most obvious sheared heels and medial or lateral flares 90 % of shoeing is the trim but can be totally destroyed without proficiency in shoe shaping and modification.
so your looking for 50/50 balance from COA? also great way to find it compared to mapping with lines underneath
What kind of shoe would you recommend for a straight hocked horse

Always (1:15) hold the cannon bone...holding the fetlock joints skews the view. (1:34) and (2:07) heels are very underrun, has this been a horse that's under your care for awhile? You should never set medial/lateral balance from the hairline of the coronet, instead use live sole plane. (3:05) you give yourself too much credit...shoe modifications LOL
