I’ve had a few attempts at making flour tortillas but I think I’ve missed out leaving the dough to rest. I actually find food preparation a really great way to connect with someone. The only thing you have to watch with ham or bacon, or even sausage is their seasonings, or the smoke flavor in the meat which can affect the taste of the tortilla

If you cook up any kind of pork like bacon or ham in a frying pan the fat left over is lard.

Which store did you find the lard? Have not seen it in the stores in Chicago but going to San Antonio Texas in a few weeks might get lucky.
Found it at my local Weiss. - but ask the butcher where it is - they like to hide it. Happy baking
