Hi thank you for the Video, I am from Napoli, but I have to say that you really didn't taste any of the best pizzas in Naples: Michele, Gino Sorbillo, Di Matteo, Capasso, Pellone, 50 Kalo, Gaetano Genovesi and more and more, you should come back and try the best pizzas. And in Napoli pizza is not only Margerita that was invented not by Brandi that is a very touristic place, Margherita was invented before the history of the queen by neapolitans, that's marketing :), you should try also other flavours of pizzas like the Fried one(at "le figliole" or "la masardona"), the salsicce and friarielli pizza, marinara, ripieno, filetto di pomodoro and more (traditional tastes)

@@nikolaparini7664 la crosta è come dici tu, il resto comunque non è fino, deve comunque reggere tutto il pomodoro e la mozzarella, che insomma, non è che pesano poco~ però certo non è alta come una focaccina ecc.
Poi conta dipende tantissimo dal tipo di pizza: ad esempio anche qui a Roma (dove abito) la pizza al taglio non è fina, regge bene ecc. solo quella rotonda fa un po' pietà ahaha

I am glad you guys enjoyed our neapolitan Pizza. Note to tourists: when you come to Napoli try also our seafood and typical pastries such as babà and sfogliatella. And also visit the 3 castles of dell'Ovo, Maschio Angioino and San Martino, the underground Roman and Greek city (Napoli Sotteranea), the San Carlo Theather, the Royal Palaces of Caserta and Capodimonte and the Archeological Museum, as well as the nearby towns of Sorrento and Positano and the islands of Ischia, Procida and Capri. There's much more to Napoli than just pizza =P
Italian pizzas are the best. The bread base is fantastic and that's the key. You should be able to make it the same anywhere else but no. Whenever I'm in Italy I have a pizza or two. I'm sitting on my desk at work getting hungry looking at this.

no, its not for free stronzo, it was 4 euros, which in napoli is regular normal price for pizza.
I was stationed in Napoli for 3 years in a NATO unit and Naples does have the best pizza in the world the tomatos are not bitter like the ones in the USA and the mozzarella de buffalo or buffalo mozzarella is so much better than any cheese we get in the USA you have to taste them both to understand what I mean. Then the dough is so light I could almost eat an entire pizza in Italy by myself and it is not possible for me to come close to that here at home in the USA. We in the USA do have A lot of things better here like not having to wait so long to get stuff done i.e. domani or dopo domani, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow but pizza is not one of them.

I hated thin crust until I went to Italy. I went to Naples and Rome to try the food there. The people in the restaurants forced me to try the pizza. Pretty much made it and left it on the table until I ate it. I have to admit both places were very good. How I would describe the pizza's? Very, very fresh. Nothing seemed to be processed and frozen. It ain't no Shakey's pizza. I plan to go back and spend more time there and Barcelona.

how many places in naples claim to be the birthplace of pizza? l' antica da michele pizzeria makes that claim too, and have lines out the door waiting to get in. and they use oregano on their pizza. the ones you tried had basil but no mention of oregano.
Actually Brandi claims only to have invented Margherita Pizza, not pizza in general.
None can claim he invented pizza, as the pizza as we know it, it has been standardized in its actual ingredients, shape, cooking style, around 1500.
Thus none of actual pizzaioli can claim any paternity or any descent from father to son during a period long 5 centuries of uninterrupted pizza-making tradition.
It is the whole city of Naples the birthplace of pizza.
Michele makes only two kind of Pizza: Marinara and Margherita.
Marinara pizza is made with olive oil, tomato sauce, garlic and oregano, but no any kind of cheese.
Marinara pizza it is one of the most ancient recipes in Pizza-making history, still made today, along with fried Calzone Pizza, and Calzone Pizza in oven.
Raffaele Irlanda pizza in general is a freelance food it was invented in Greece haha they probably don't teach that history lol

I know this is an older vid, but you had some good pizzas to choose from. Can't believe you went to Trianon and not Da Michele, its just across the street, lol! Anyhow, I have done something similar trying out the top places. It is hard to go wrong anywhere in the city center. They are all so very good. To be honest, any pizza I've had in Naples has been awesome, some are just nuanced better than others. I'm lucky that there is a VPN certified pizzeria near where my uncle lives in Indiana. I've gone there with my cousin and it is just like the Neapolitan pizza (minus the location). Soooooo goooooood! :-D

I thought I had replied to this, I was referring to Venturi in Goshen. I know the Pangea website claims they are VPN certified but they don't show up as members on the AVPN website. Venturi does.

I know that they used to show up on the AVPN website. I think the last time I looked was January of last year, and they were on there then. I am not sure if those certifications ever expire or what.
The other thing it could be is they opened a NY style pizzeria a while back, sort of a second location, but more of a slicery. I believe the chef that was AVPN certified is GM of that new location. Perhaps he is no longer involved with the original location. I'll have to find out next time I go.
I think they have to re-certify after some period of time. I live in MD now and there is a place in DC called Two Amy's, that at one time was AVPN certified but no longer is. I don't know the reason and there could be many - expensive, health codes, hassle, getting the ingredients, etc, but they aren't certified any more. I'm really stoked for next year. Pupatella, which is certified and has locations in DC & Northern VA, is going to open their first MD location sometime then.
Oh how I miss Napoli... And I am so glad I did'nt have to unsubscribe. I would have, If you had asked for a Pineapple pizza..:-)

buffalo mozzarella tends to make pizza watery, not everyone are a fan of that, me neither :D I rather the fiordilatte mozzarella or provola cheese because they're drier

I'am living in UK, hard to find real Italian style pizza, it is very rare and incredibly expensive. Actually every cheap takeaway here calling their product as pizza, which is basically the same american style nightmare! Hard to understand, why they are not able to follow the original recipe!

At the birthplace location, The sauce is just San marzano tomato and nothing. That's how you make a true Napoli pizza. You should have done research before starting. The pepper is from fresh olive oil.
