This place is amazing--the admission price for free play on all these classic machines is so low it's slightly alarming to me; I'd happily pay several times what they're charging. And it's so clearly a labor of love--the proprietors have such joy in showing you around just for showing up. Before this place opened, there was no public venue in New England that had a lot of playable machines from the electromechanical era (pre-late-70s). Funspot and Canobie had a few. But ElectroMagnetic Pinball has got 'em, and a surprising number are in working order.
Next time you're in the Chicago area you should go to galloping ghost arcade in Brookfield. It's the biggest arcade in the world as far as number of games go and the building seriously takes up a whole block. They kept getting more and more games that they had to move the pinball machines into a building across the street.
A couple of malls in the Lehigh Valley have gotten retro arcades. There's Back to the Arcade at the South Mall, and coming soon to Palmer Park Mall is Back to the Arcade II.
The Seattle one is great, has a nice and well-curated collection of historic machines, but Electromagnetic Pinball actually dwarfs it. The Vegas one looks huge--I haven't been there.
I have been to the massive Museum of Pinball (now closed) in Banning CA, the Pinball Hall of Fame, and Pinballz in Austin! This place looks pretty awesome and is now on my bucket list! I plan to go to Past Times Arcade in Ohio and Pinball PA/ Pinball Perfection soon enough which I also recommend for their massive pinball collection!
I love arcades and coasters so this video was a welcome surprise! If you visit any other places that might be of interest to anyone I would love to hear your thoughts!
I love arcade games, especially pinball. I don't know what reason I would have for visiting Rhode Island, but if I was there, I'd go out of the way for this.
I was in aikan Georgia because we were supposed to go to a rowing event but it got cancelled for weather, and since we couldn't cancel our hotel in time we had to stay. Since I was touring I checked out some of the things they had. They had a pinball museum very similar to this one. I think it was radioactive pinball or something
I saw Comet and Cyclone (Williams Classics), Earthshaker & funhouse (Pat Lawler), Rollergames, High Speed, Big Guns (Debut of the catapult mechanic in pinball), T2 JD, No Fear, LW3, LP (Data East) and Gorgar amongst other legendary pinball games from the 80s and 90s
New England is actually a pretty good region for classic arcade fans--the other must-visit is Funspot (no relation to the amusement-park chain) in Weirs Beach, Laconia, NH, which has a vast collection of Golden Age arcade videogames on the top floor. It has a decent pinball collection too, though for that it's been beaten soundly by Electromagnetic Pinball. Canobie Lake Park's pinball parlor back by Untamed is good too, though the machines do get heavy use and they can struggle to keep them working. And there are smaller but respectable places like BitBar in Salem, MA. There used to be a fantastic arcade in Pelham, NH called Pinball Wizard that had somewhere around 100 pinballs and a big classic arcade videogame collection too, but it closed down years ago. I think Funspot and other venues around the area got some of their machines--Funspot did hire the former proprietor to service their pins.
No Good Gofers isn't my favorite pinball machine, but it does have a shot you can make (if you time it exactly right) where the ball genuinely gets air.

I agree it's a great price!

I've been there twice (both as side quests for business trips to the Windy City). Loved my visits there!
I'll have to look that place up.

Awesome! I prefer this type of arcade.
Pinball museums are always a bunch of fun. I've been to one in Seattle and Vegas
Need to visit those ones.
The Seattle one is great, has a nice and well-curated collection of historic machines, but Electromagnetic Pinball actually dwarfs it. The Vegas one looks huge--I haven't been there.
This reminds me of the National Videogame Museum in Sheffield, they have a similar setup with consoles and arcade machines.
Sounds awesome!
You should do a video on Free Play Arcade in Providence. It has a huge collection of games that are all free with a small cover charge.
Potentially in the future.

All those places sound cool.

I may make some more videos like this.

It's nice having this place near me.

They have a full list of games online.
Will you do more Museum videos in the near future?
On occasion.
This place gives me a strong desire to visit New England!
It's great!

i love pinball this was a cool video to see
I like pinball too.
Reminds me of Ironblast game zone in wash pa
Nice!
Which arcade game do you think has the most airtime moments?
Pinball when you go off the ramps.
No Good Gofers isn't my favorite pinball machine, but it does have a shot you can make (if you time it exactly right) where the ball genuinely gets air.
Be cool if you do some pin/arcade videos. Top theme park pinball machines. Ride the COMET.
This was a unique case, but I may make a few more.
I happen to have two pinball machines in my basement
Cool! Which ones?
Glad i dont do that. Looks fun though.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like arcades like this.
