Magnifique travail bravo 😊
Merci beaucoup 🙏🥰💚🌿
Love your videos. Thank you. Your hens are looking great!
Thank you 🤗 They're great companions 😊💚🌿
Maiju, hello from Southern California. Given enough time I would think that the roots would breakdown into compost. You live in a beautiful place. Love how your dog wants to play fetch all of the time.
Hello to sunny California 🌞 👋 Thank you for your kind comment 😊
He is extra energetic for fetch when the tractor and trailer come out as he has something to race against, then 😂😂 he loves running 🐶
I hope the grass will compost down too, its the slatted pallet sides that let sunlight in, perhaps creating perfect propagation conditions 🙈🤭
Best wishes, Maiju 💚🌿
Impressive work!
Thank you 😊💚🌿
I moved my compost up into a 200 liter drum and add pallet planks to extend to accommodate material beyond the drum, cause I like to avoid rats. I just struggle bit with rain as the compost below tends to be wet so I turn it a bit more (though it’s a bit of effort). However birds love the exposed worms it seems, hopefully that could divert them from my cherry tomatoes.
I do anything to avoid rats, but being out in the countryside you would still get an odd one looking for warmth and a compost heap is perfect for it.
I use a Hotbin composter closer to the house and that does not attract vermin 💚🌿
Hi Maiju, you made the most of a dry day.
Thank you, Ady 😀 I tried my best 😊
Just discovered your channel, subscribed obviously 😊
Hello, welcome, and thank you 😊💚🌿
Oh now Maiju i do love watching your updates - beautifully filmed and put together. You're right - things are starting to pick up apace now - just give us a bit of sunshine and there'll be no stopping us! Take care.
Thank you, Jane 🤗
A little bit of sunshine, 1 day out of the weekend even... that's all I ask 😂
The ground is swimming at the moment, it is so so so wet....
But it is all waking up 😊 Happy gardening, Maiju 💚🌿
Hi Maiju.
Lovely update. Looking forward to spring 🌱
Rach 😊👩🏼🌾
Thank you, Rach 🤗 Absolutely ready for spring 😍💚🌿
Hey Maiju!! (and hello to your hubby 👋!!) Perfect timing I just sat down to eat my dinner and got to enjoy this video!
I absolutely loved watching you bring out the big machinary 🙌 it's the start of a busy month but pace is everything for sure!! It looks like you have some beautiful kale in the back of your greenhouse 👀😍
I have two shoots of nepeta that have bounced back and totally get the satisfaction when trimming back all the previous years growth, it can get so brown and narly 😌
Irish hertiage tomatoes 😲 well that is a rabbit whole I have never been down 💚Lucky leprechaun 😍 I love that name I am going to get that variety next year for sure! Xx
Hi Laura 😀 Thank you 🤗
Sometimes, the big machinery does come handy 😅, especially when having to walk long distances and up the slope and then down the slope 😀 its even harder with a filled wheelbarrow.....
The scarifier does an amazing job at getting compacted growth out of the grass. Fingers crossed, the scarifier knocked it back enough to give the flower seeds a chance 🤞
The Nepeta branches are great at protecting the new shoots from cold weather, but as you say - they look dead and gnarly, and when cut back, it all looks clean and tidy 😊
The name for the tomato is fab, right? ❤️ 😀 it's also a dwarf, staying short at about 1m. Nice red salad tomatoes, nothing impressive, but the whole background of it makes them interesting to try - the Lucky Leprechaun 🍀😀
Have a great bank holiday weekend, Laura 🥳 I hope the weather is forecast better for you, than it is for us ☔️☔️☔️
Best wishes, Maiju 💚🌿
Hi Maiju
Fab update. 😍 Wow don't sound as if you get a break from grass cutting but really useful for compost and mulching. Isn't it great to see seedlings coming up and spring bulbs starting to flower. The ornamental cherry is really pretty and everything looking nice and healthy in the greenhouse and garden.🌷🌷🌷🌷 😀❤
Thank you, Linda 🤗🥰
Nope, no break from grass cutting 😀 during the summer, twice a week. It's a lot of time to spend on it and the cost of petrol ⛽️....so the meadow would be a great help....
The garden is starting to wake up 🥰🥰🥰
Have a great weekend 🤗💚🌿
Hi Maiju, you did work hard to sort all the materials for your compost bay . It will be so worth while when it turns into compost, brilliant job thank you for sharing with us
Thank you, Tracy 😊 I'm no expert when making compost, but I want to learn more through making it. Its all a bit of a trial and error, isn't it?
And putting the compost back into the garden is going to be worth the physical labour 🥰
Morning Maiju, it was an absolutely beautiful sunny day here 😂 at zero degrees c until it maxed out at 9. Omg your astilbe is absolutely stunning. No mass of flowers here yet 🤦🏼♀️ but soon and yes loads to get done. Yes those potatoes leaves are quite cute. Have an amazing weekend don’t overdo it, Ali 🌞🥶🇨🇦
Thank you, Ali 🤗 You're in cold weather still 😕 were mild, but wet.
We're had constant rain 🌧 warnings and the ground is just sodden with it....and more rain for the weekend, that's why I probably over-do it when its dry 🤭🤭
Have a great weekend and best wishes, Maiju 💚🌿
@@spudsandroses our weather is insane Maiju, it’s 7:45 am zero C but later and all weekend highs of mid 20’s. Next week temps tank again 😜 and rain for days 🤦🏼♀️
Love seeing you riding about on that beast of a thing 😂😂😂 Was a bit scared for Spud tho! Great composting - hard work though right?! But so worth it. One of my favourite things about gardening is composting lol.
No fear of Spud, he's mad to chaise the trailer around 😀
I don't know if composting would be as hard of a work if I would have a cousin or 2 to help me out 😉🤭🤣🤣 haha.... would be cheaper to buy the compost than plane tickets....
There's a potential of a good amount in the bays though 😊
@@spudsandroses haha you're as bad as Danny. I never say no to helping hands! 🤣
@dogontheplot 🤭🤭 surely not as bad as Danny....🤣🤗
Of course- many hands make light work 😊 its always appreciated to get help with physically demanding jobs 💚🌿
👍
Thank you, Locke 💚🌿
Maiju those Duke of York shoots are beautiful 😍 oh that’s one we will definitely try next year.
Tricia just asked me to ask you what breed is your doggy? 😊
Lovely video we both sat and really enjoyed the catch up.
Wow I love your filled compost bays, great job 👏. Nothing is more pleasing than producing your own compost. 😊
Tricia would love your sit on tractor 😂😂 she used one for mowing in Canada and loved it. Hope you had a long soak in the bath. I spent over an hour turning our compost and then realised once I got home it hadn’t recorded 😢
Ooh slug 🐌 and snail farm 😂
Have a beautiful Friday and weekend 😊

Hi girls, thank you so much for this lovely comment 🤗🥰
Spuds is a pedigree "ball obsession." 🤭 his mum was a purebred brindle Boxer (our own dog) who fell in love with a sheepdog across the hill 🤭
So he has colours and some "pawing and talking back" from his mum, but the rest of the look - long nose, longish coat, and sheepdog instincts as lying down are all from father.
The tractor lawnmower is handy as the grassed area is big. And the trailer is double handy 👌 Could not walk with wheelbarrows all the time 😀
Yes, trying to use as much of our own materials for making compost.
Fair play to you for taking it a step further with the worm composting 🙌
Have a great weekend, too🤗😊
Best wishes, Maiju 💚🌿
