      Great video. So cost calculation landed here is $2711.17AUD with free shipping? I'm about to pull the plug.

    Very well done review Tony! These amps truly can be end game for many users out there. I love my 11 channel A11, it's been working without a hitch and sounds amazing.

      Thanks brother - Aamir is such a good fellow, I can see why you speak so highly of him. Canadians are seriously the nicest people around :D

    Don't forget to mention the dual Toroidal Power Supply. 🙂 Both my Summit A-7 amp and Onkyo TX -RZ50, run lightly warm at most. Very clean and clear. It simply gets louder and louder while maintaining *original source" clarity. I was blessed to have this "pop-up" at its introductory price.

    Good review Tony, as always.
    I’m interested to know how this amp compares to the Aussie built Electra amplifiers you own.
    I’m looking to purchase an altitude 16, so I’m looking around for a decent amplifier, or two.

      I love my Elektras, they have sentimental value to me as well as sounding great, loads of power and low distortion. I don't really know how to compare them as I'm not a technical review of things like this, more subjective and I didn't test them in my main room - but they do have loads of power and similar specs to the Elektras. I dare say these are as good, but I did notice a little more noise coming from the actual unit itself than the Elektras which run a little quieter, but as it's in the rack I wouldn't know either way. Spoilt for choice to be perfectly honest, I can't see you being disappointed going either way. The Tonewinner amps are also pretty good too, and all around the same budget.

    Good review. Just wondering do you rerun room correction when adding an external amp?

      Absolutely yes you MUST run a new calibration - which I did with my system.

    Tony, at 2:18 what is that grey piece under the Epicentrix? Under the centre of the speaker.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a window packer which I used to slightly angle the speaker upward :D

    Received the amp today. I attempted to remove 2 of the Torx head screws from the top panel and the heads both snapped off using little force (Torx tool not cordless drill). I've emailed Aamir to ask for a solution before attemping any more.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh no! I had no issues at all with mine, and I removed the lid a few times for filming. Hopefully Aamir can help you resolve it quickly.

      @@BuildMontage I was able to remove all the others using a hair dryer to soften each screw just in case. I also was able to remove the thin metal bracket that the screws go into, so hopefully I can tap out the stem of each screw that broke.

    Hello. Interesting:) Is it possible to match these with a Marantz sr 7010 :) ?

      I can't see why it can't be matched with any processor. Tonnes of power in this beast.

    isn't this just a rebranded tonwinner 7 channel amp? Thr same comoany appears to be distirbuting tonewinner in NA.

      Amir commented on a recent review, and apparently he's using a different manufacturer for his summithifi amps. Makes me wonder why? The tonewinner ad7300 is a great amp.

    That is not very expensive.
    The future is class D though if you want real efficiënt power.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It's not expensive in my opinion either, however, I always get people upset when I call something "budget". I've tested Class A/B and have the Krix Elektra A/B in my dedicated room powering my Krix speakers through a Trinnov Processor and they sound great. I know Trinnov amps are class D and they have come a long way since the PA style amps but I like the A/B design - trade off in weight from pure class A but have nice amount of power and low distortion.

  • @Huskytickler
    @Huskytickler 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hate to say it mate but you show the rear of the A7 with its beefy, high quality speaker out terminals but you use the pissiest little speaker cable and banana plugs to connect such lovely Krix speakers ?????????

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      14awg speaker wire is plenty good. Maybe I should also warm the cables up before I use them too 😂
