Took east I-80 across the Red Desert around the same date in 1975. Solid sheet of ice with wicked winds. Held steering wheel to the left and crabbed down the highway. Many trucks in the median with some that didn't even break through the ice! No faster than 20 mph. Quite a ride!

I was in Laramie in 1973-4 trying to get an engineering degree. I 80 was affectionally known as the "sno chi min trail". As a native who has worked all over the state, I love your videos of Wyoming. The drifting snow across the highway makes me homesick. Live in OK now.

Living on gas station food for 15 yrs destroyed my health. I can never drive again. One winter I was stuck on I-80 for 3 days in Wy. I thank all of you that drive for our country. Most people don't realize what it cost us to be successful in delivering all the things they want and need. I can relate to everything you've said. Been there and had it done to me. Thanks for my new toothbrush and all of my cloths, shoes, food....
Your health is not destroyed until you die. Been there.... You need an airdyne bike and a heart rate monitor. Then you need to ride that thing every day and keep your heart rate at 135 for ten min. When you buy the heart rate monitor make sure it is the kind that goes around your chest....... Note: for 50 bucks and 10 min per day you can live to be 90yrs old..... Take that for what it is worth my fellow trucker, and good luck

hi all you Truckers.I used to be a Trucker started in 1978 quit in 1983.I drove gas and linseed oil tankers with no baffles. I was just in my late 20s.their was this older guy a vet he was my friend.he dyed 2 weeks from his retirement got hit head on with his new white brand cabover 3 million some miles he had. I cant even explain how nice he was to me and helped me.thats when i quit.I cryed for weeks and decided after my 6 years it wasnt worth it.But i respect you guys so much!!j2 summers ago trucking was far from my mind different career.but i had a fireman friend downtown and was going to go to his house to do paintless dent repair on his yellow camaro.His wife told me not now not a good time.he had a kenworth and a young kid wanted to commit suicide on his way to work and aimed for the nose of that kenworth when it was over you couldn't tell it was a kenworth or a truck it was bad early morning.i have pictures it was awful.he was just a part time local driver
