Since you missed it, let me explain. First, it looks like they gave Kong and armored gauntlet, not a metal hand. As for the story, the basic premise is this: the new bad guy is a titan named Scar King, who has lived down in the hollow earth for a millennia; his anger and resentment building all the while. He’s been building an empire to strike back at both hollow earth and the surface world. King can’t fight him alone, so he gets Godzilla to help him since they’re no longer enemies before Scar King destroys everything and rules over the ashes. Hope that helps you understand what’s going on.
You forgot to mention that fact the scar king can control the first and strongest titan that is said to be a world ender

Kong apparently sustains a very bad arm / hand injury during battle with Skar King. The villian is possibly the one who started the bloody ancient war between the Gojiras ( Godzilla species) and the Kong species. Skar King probably massacred both species as well. If you notice all the skeletal remains in his Lair. Godzilla may have defeated and trapped him within the Hollow Earth. So he hell bent on revenge. Kong it appears stumbles upon this underworld kingdom of his kind. But is most likely met with anger and hatred. Im almost certain Skar King tries to destroy Kong. This movie with have some laughs and chuckles, as well as destruction, but will also showcase a torn and heartbroken Kong. Seeing for the 1st time others like him, yet the evil tyrant Skar King trying to kill him. Kong as it appears, takes the young Suko under his wing and claims him as his own, hence Son Of Kong ( apparently the original title when Wingard was writing the screenplay ). But there is not just one new threat, to not only GxK but to the entire world. There is another destructive presence that hasn’t been revealed until the movie comes out. This is my take on this.
The other threat is Shimu, the ice Titan revealed in the toys for the movie, he's blue power is seen at the start of the trailer when you see Kongs metal arm, something tells me the the Skar King and Shimu have a connection and he too has been in hibernation. Shimu is stated to be kept in the desert Monarch facility because of his ability to freeze things with his breath. I am assuming he is somehow woken up by either the Skar King or their battles with Kong and Godzilla. Shimu was believed to be the reason for the first ice age.

In case you forgot, KOTM flopped because of how much plot it gave away, GXK is avoiding this mistake, so you guys will have to wait for the second trailer to find out a bit more
I loved the Battle scenes and the Ghidorah vs Godzilla parts were fucking lit but I also believe it flopped because yeah the critics care about the human stories in movies like this. But the real fans, you know the ones that actually matter, besides a select few. Don't give one cup full of shit about the human story and human plot line in a movie where Godzilla and Kong are the main characters.

The first movie before this where Kong fought Godzilla, Godzilla was very pissed as the axe Kong holds is a spine of his ancestors godzillas that were crafted by other Kongs specimens so long ago. There are analysis videos on why they are fighting. There had been a war with the apes against godzillas millions of years ago when there were still many individuals of both species. Kong and Godzilla were fighting again in the first movie to settle the beef from the war their ancestors had for so many years. There are channels such as Dangerville and Goji Center that goes under deep analysis explaining why in movies or trailers something happens the way that it did. Skar king (the name of the giant orange orangutan looking ape) is rumoured to have been in the war against the Godzillas and very much emphasized by other theory channels that the ape PROBABLY lost his sanity and become the villain and is POSSIBLY the one behind why the war happened in the first place as he does look older than Kong. But he is also a villain towards the Kongs in the trailer as all the apes looked scared of him as he appeared in the trailer.

So you're one of those..... "what's the story? What's the drama? Where the backstory? Why is Kong mad? Who is Godzillas mom? Like what was her favorite Tuesday night meal? How long does Kong sleep? What's the new villains name. Not just first like WHAT'S his full fucking name? Did he fight in wars before this? How many wars did he fight? What was his weapon of choice? Did he pray before battle? I also want to know his blood type and how many times he wipes his ass. What is every species he is mixed with? I want his DNA background down to the 1%." No lol. Give us enough background to work off of. Then have them go fucking blow for blow the whole damn movie. It's a kaiju on kaiju movie. It's just as bad as those critics that talked shit on King of Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong for not having a cohesive enough human element to the movie. I could give two bubbling shits about the human and oscar worthy story behind movies that's biggest pull is 2, 3, 4, 5, shit even 6 kaiju/titans fighting. Millie's character, the dad, mom, the deaf girl, skarsgaards character, and lady that works Kong could all have gotten fucking squashed in a single scene by a falling building and it wouldn't have hurt the movie at all.
I’m just sharing little pieces of information I’ve learned and the rest is purely hypothetical not the actual script.
They need to team up for this new bad guy Scar king is basically the being responsible for wiping out kongs clan and Godzillas race. Also seems to have another clan of kongs enslaved in the hollow earth.
Scar kings special powers I’m guessing are something energy/radiation based hence the blue shine in his eyes. He’s also got some sort of mental power as he’s able to control the supposed 1st or most powerful titan called Shimu who has the ability to freeze things. Zilla was in ice before he evolved his new power which leads me to think he and kong have met each of their opposing numbers and have both been on the receiving end of a beat down kongs wearing a gauntlet but it looks more like a brace.
I think Godzilla fought and got trapped by shimu and kong got his arm broken by scar. He’d be easily able to do that as he’s around 400ft tall at least somewhere between 70 to 100ft bigger than kong and thus probably 10ft taller than Godzilla.
Shimu is said to be the largest monster in the movie though around 500ft tall. Shimus power is so great it supposedly caused the ice age and I presume that was when it had free reign in the hollow earth.
The motive for scar king is apparently his hatred for Godzilla who he sees as true threat to the new empire as imagine scar wasn’t alone when he fought the Godzillas he possibly had more of his own kind or he used the kongs to help him. Either way he knows how dangerous even 1 Godzilla is hence why needs Shimu. I’m going to assume scar isn’t taking into account that zilla is generating new power to break himself free. If Godzilla isn’t making that power himself then it definitely has something to do with gia and that underground pyramid as the light seems a similar colour to the that of Godzillas new power. This scar king is about to be on some ghidorah level of hassle probably even more than that.
I would like to say there is more to this trailer, mainly the Red Kong, also known as Scar King, we don't believe is actually the main antagonist. but personally i just think this trailer was kinda rushed and that maybe the cgi will be updated upon release and that we'll probably, hopefully get another trailer with more explained or more content. But I will add that Minus One is one of the best godzilla movies to date and it used like a fourth or fifth of the buget they have for Godzilla x Kong so they're going to really have to show us something soon about this to peak our interests or idk if its gonna be a success.
Edit:Minus One's budget was around $15 Million dollars supposedly.

Kong vs Scar King's right hand (bald head monkey) and Kong lost with his arm injury(again lmao poor kong)
Godzilla seems to fight Shimu(Ice titan) and lost but he adapted and evolved then fight Shimu again and win. Later he join Kong to fight Scar King. Godzilla will be busy fighting SK's army while Kong did the same but then meet SK's right hand then battle for the second time and win. Kong then fight Scar King and almost lost badly until Godzilla came join the battle and help Kong win his fight.
The story seems to be telling more about the world of hollow earth and the history of kong and the first titan(Ice titan a.kma Shimu)
Looks like the technology has evolved, mean there is a huge possibility that Legendary Pictures gonna bring one of the OG titan from Toho(I hope it's Space Godzilla or a replacement of it like Spacezilla or something)

People somehow also forget Shin Godzilla was originally a red/pink. Granted this isn't Shin but other Zillas have had pink. Anything that even looks like pink at a glance now. People start flicking their fucking beans and referencing barbie. Don't worry, things can have pink in them and not be a barbie reference.

The red gorilla is ‘Scar’ the Villian of King Kong in the comics/books. He’s a bad guy leading an evil team of gorillas that wants to destroy everything.

I don't think Godzilla hybernates to fight Shimu, It takes a very long time for Godzilla to recharge unless forced on by a nuke and you can see the ice formation around him is not new. I think he's just evolving as normal and I don't think we will see him till later in the movie when Shimu wakes up as a result of Kong and Skar Kings battles - you can see Kongs metal hand come out when Shimu is waking up at the beginning of the trailer, then he will come to the aid of Kong because this is a hollow earth battle that has been brought to the surface which is Godzillas domain.
The war already happend first off. Second off still our same big g from 2014 all the way up too GvK. 3rd just from the trailer i assume scar king is just enslaving what remains of kong's species and godzilla is going to help kong defeat him cause eithas a powerful titan under its control that kong will need help with that threatens the balance. But again that's me just assuming.

Whats confusing? I have watched a lot of reacts for this trailer and even not being a fan or knowing nothing about the verse, how is this confusing? Its a team-up not a VS. hence Godzilla x Kong and not VS and yeah Kong has a gauntlet clearly man made for him either as a way to help him in combat or its like a cast cause his arm got messed up. Ugh and finally the lack of excitement seeing these 2 monsters running side by side, its legit the MOST epic cinematic moment since the first Avengers movie when you see them together for the first time and the reaction is🤨yeah no appreciation for cinematic masterpieces. 😐

Not in a kaiju movie. Regular people want to see big lizard and big ape punch big other ape. If you want an oscar level story. Go watch a Scorsese or Dicaprio movie. For this, give us enough background to know who the villain is, what he wants, give it some stakes and have them go at it.
