A little bit left of field but i reckon Cillian Murphy (Age would be a factor but if they pumped out maybe a trilogy for 2025-2027-2029 he would be 53 same age as DC when he bowed out.

      Richard Maddison I think
He’s young, he looks great in suit, he’s got the stomach to play bond.
We could see reboot of James Bond, on how he started off as a mid 30’s agent with a OO status.

He was my favourite Bond. He was the only Bond actor who could pull off both intense violence and beautiful, emotional moments so convincingly. He was the Bond who could snap an arm and kill a man with his bare hands one minute, and make you want to give him a hug the next.

    Callbacks:
    1. The music in the Matera scene is the theme from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, which is the movie in the Bond cannon where 007 was married, but then Blofeld killed his wife in the final scene. Also the line “we have all the time in the world” was the the line 007 said to his dead wife in that final scene of OHMSS. This was the final line 007 told Madeline, only it was altered to “YOU have all the time in the world.”
    2. In Spectre, Madeline told the story of the man that came to kill her family, and how there was a gun next to the bleach under the sink. And they showed the gun next to the bleach under the sink in the opening scene.
    3. The Aston Martin in his garage, that he drove to Norway is the same model used in the Timothy Dalton movie.
    4. When at MI6, one of the scenes, you can see portraits of Judy Dench and other actors who previously played M.
    5. In Skyfall, when 007 first meets Q in the museum, Q mentions he can do more in his pajamas on a computer than 007 can do. In the final act of the movie Q is wearing Pajamas. Also you notice he inserts the flash drive in the protected computer first to check for viruses before he inserts in his actual computer, learning his lesson from Silva’s hack in Skyfall.
    6. Much of the plot themes in the movie are drawn from the You Only Live Twice novel, such as the poison garden and Bond having a child.
    7. The gunshot barrel sequence at the beginning typically ends with blood running down the screen after the gunshot. There was no blood in this gunbarrel sequence which some have taken as foreshadowing that 007 missed, which proved a deadly miss.
    9. When Bond finds the cigar in his house which he determines is Felix, the brand of cigar is the same brand references in Die Another Day.
These are some of the Easter eggs and callbacks I thought were very cool.

I appreciated that they gave Felix's death the weight it deserved for once and didn't treat him like just some side character come and gone. It was actually really sweet how Bond seemed to be really sad that Felix had died, that lingering shot of the cigar was really sweet. Felix throughout the franchise has always been that one friend that James could truly trust and rely on. I honestly would like a film of MI6’s Bond and CIA’s Felix do a mission together in the future.
Hell, License to Kill was basically Bond going on a blood-fueled rampage to avenge the mutilation of Felix and the murder of Felix’s wife.

I’ve been a James Bond’s fan since the early 60s. I read all the Fleming’s novels and went to the movies as soon as I was old enough to be admitted in a movie theatre. However I was disappointed at Goldfinger because Sean Connery’s Bond wasn’t the one Fleming had written in his novels. Though disappointed I went to see every movie as long as I liked the actor. So I watched every Connery’s Bond, Roger Moore’s and Pierce Brosnan’s but not Lazenby’s nor Dalton’s. It’s only with Daniel Craig’s Bond I found the true character Fleming had created. So I enjoyed all Craig’s Bond incarnations fromCasino Royale up to No Time to Die. That one I loved it so much I actually watched it 10 times already, 4 times in a movie theatre, 6 times streaming it. Yet each and every time I view it I notice something new. I agree wholeheartedly this last Daniel Craig’s run as James Bond is as fantastic as his first one. There’s a lot of talks about this ending but it couldn’t end any other way. It’s beautiful and tragic as it gives our favourite hero the family he thought he’d never be able to have while robbing him from the possibility to enjoy it further. He never had a reason to die other than his patriotic duty to his country. But with the family he now found out he has, now he has a reason to give his life for. That’s how James Bond becomes a true hero.

    Details from the movie:-
    1. Scene where Madeline tells she has something to tell and when she touches her stomach while on train is when she wanted to say she’s pregnant to James
    2. Scene where Mathilda asks Madeline do misquotes have friends is tiny detail how she chose to protect her daughter from her past & not to hurt James knowing she didn’t do anything
    3. Scene where Paloma says it’s her stop & asks bond to stay longer next time - it’s the only bond movie I feel where bond is working without actually flirting with a woman on mission. You could actually understand why James enjoyed his company with her as a colleague & that she was brilliant. It’s one of the sweetest scenes in the film
    4. The scene where we see that silver spring toy, is a detailing that time has jumped & that Mathilda, is the biggest leap of change in James’ life since James left Madeline (I could be wrong)
    5. Scene where Safin leaves Mathilda is because he couldn’t stand the fact that she chose to bite him (not like him) even when he proved to negotiate the best he could, choosing to turn her to James

Great observations. On point 5 my take (after a second viewing) was that she didn't "need" him. She didnt want his protection. I felt it was a callback to when he turned up at Madelines office and reminisced about his connection to Madeline by explaining that there was a time she needed him. That connection wasnt there with Mathilde so there was nothing to gain for him personally. He didnt "need" her the way he needed Madeline. She was his only connection to any kind of humanity.

Ana de Armas was great. She said in an interview that she only had three weeks of training with the stunt crew. She said it so many times on set that the director told her to use it in her conversation with Bond regarding her CIA training.

I disagee. It was the worst they could do. She had one purpose and that was to make it ‘woke’ , make it 2020, ( Q being gay, a dark woman who’s playing 007 etc) I don’t mind those things but they did it so clearly that it annoyed me.
James Bond is cold, sarcastic and egocentric, he’s no family man. I’m sorry, but this was a great action movie, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t a bond! Bond would have slept with Paloma, made more fun of the bad guy, killed him way better than he did. And the end… I know they had to ‘close’ the DC part, but this wasn’t it.

This was great for the future of the franchise as well because now they can go in any direction they want with the next actor to take on the role.

I enjoyed your reviews of the Craig era, guys. Here's some classic references I noticed...
    1. The car driven into the scaffold by Paloma is the same model as the car from the first ever pursuit in a Bond movie when Connery gets picked up by the enemy from the airport in Dr No. Although, the original was a convertible.
    2. The score heavily references John Barry's score from OHMSS and also references David Arnold's music from Casino Royale and Quantum with "Vespers Theme".
    3. "We have all the time in the world" by Louis Armstrong was used originally in OHMSS as was the line of dialogue when Bond's wife is murdered by Spectre on their wedding day.
    4. There are several references to Ken Adam's iconic set design from the 60's and 70's especially Dr No, The Spy who Loved Me, Moonraker and You Only Live Twice.
    5. The film is heavily influenced by the novel You Only Live Twice which features a "Garden of Death" on the coast of Japan. The line "Die Blofeld, Die" is also taken directly from the book when Bond kills Blofeld by strangulation.
    6. M's tribute speech at the end is taken from Jack London who was a big influence on Ian Fleming's work.
    7. The classic 80's Aston used in the film was first used in The Living Daylights (1987).. 10 years ago you could have bought one for as little as £6000 pounds.. not any more!
I think they did a great job on this movie considering that the production had some issues with delays, getting some of the actors they wanted due to their busy schedules and that the writer/director was apparently rewriting some of the scenes when they were on set shooting.
You guys should go back to the beginning and do the 60's Bond's. Of course they are dated but Bond is still a badass and Connery is perfect in the role.

Saw it myself on opening night. (Which in Australia, was November 11th). I liked it! There's some rewatch value it that I thought Spectre sorely lacked. I rank it in the middle of Craig's films, below Casino Royale & Skyfall, but above Quantum of Solace & Spectre.
Hans Zimmer was an interesting choice for composer, as was Billie Eilish for the theme song. Whether or not it worked is debatable. But Cary Joji Fukunaga was killer as the films' director!

I really loved this film. I know some hate the ending, but it seemed fitting for Craig’s Bond to have such a moving ending. Daniel is superb in this but his acting will, as usual get overlooked just because it’s a Bond film. Really enjoyed Madeleine more in this one too. The set pieces were incredible. The horror-like start is chilling. I loved the score (especially the end) and the callbacks to OHMSS although it made it clear this wouldn’t end well right from the start. The MI-6 gang were great here, Felix was great to have back and Paloma was a highlight. My biggest grumble in not enough clarity as to why Savin wanted to kill ordinary people. Wiping out Spectre made sense, but the rest not so much. Also he’s not 10 ish years older than Madeleine is he? I’ll miss my favourite Bond, but intrigued how they reboot it next time.
    Rankings for me:
    1. Casino Royale
    2. No Time To Die
    3. Skyfall (it’s almost a tie for 2)

Something I love about the Daniel Craig Bond movies is actually something that I love about the DCEU movies. The criticisms of each movie's plot in the real world become the inspiration for the follow-up entry's story. The real-world public is holding these charcters accountable to their story arcs, and those deconstructions become the foundation of character development to build the next entry's conflict around. That's the only commonality, the two film franchises are otherwise incomparable.
It's almost as if MI6 is hot or cold on Bond depending on if Daniel Craig was hot or cold on "doing another James Bond movie" during the promotional tours of the last one. There's a very subtle sense of Behind-The-Scenes passive aggression (which is damn good artistry, they USED it - take notes, Disney Lucasfilm) throughout the movies, if you follow it.

I have a lot of mixed feelings on that ending, on one hand I can understand why Bond would choose to stay on that island rather than risk exposing Madeleine or their daughter to the nanobots; but one the other hand I’m pretty sure Q could have figured out an antidote and they could have just kept Bond in isolation until then. Or the watch alone could have/should have shorted out the nanobots. Honestly would it have killed them to let this Bond just have a happy ending with his “wife” and daughter because out of all the Bonds he’s had the most tragedy and heartbreak. Also that ending pretty much goes against everything Flemming wrote the character to be, as in Bond always gets away. After killing all of Spectre for his revenge, I’m still confused on Safin’s whole plan. He had a creepy obsession with Madeleine and knew pretty much everything about her; he knew she loved Bond, knew she she was pregnant, knew she had his child, and knew where to find her in London. It almost seemed like he was jealous she loved Bond and not him because in Safin’s mind he and James are so similar, so he seemed jealous of the her loving Bond, then having a child together; even the scientist makes mention of that when Safin brings Madeleine and Mathilde to the island, he says something like “welcome to you and your family” and gestures to Madeleine. I think he really just wanted to keep Madeleine in the hopes she’d fall in love with him or he’d force her to fall in love with him. Zimmer’s soundtrack is phenomenal, the Matera, Square Escape, and Final Ascent are beautiful and probably my favorite pieces. Aside from the ending I’d give the movie a solid 8.

Daniel Craig was the Bond with whom I grew up with and the ending of No time to die left me with a lot of thoughts and I couldn’t quite handle it for some time. And I totally agree with you, the soundtrack of Hans Zimmer has extremely affected the movie in the most positive way.
Nevertheless, Craig has given Bond’s character the opportunity to develop and I like that we see him as a very vulnerable and broken person. I also liked that we’ve had so much more insights of the “classic” Bond characters, like Q and Moneypenny.

In the 58 year at the time when No time to Die was being filmed or in Post Production, the bond producers BB and MGW fired the original composer Dan Romer, Cary F. Used in him in the majority of his stuff he has directed. The producers didn’t like the music he was created for the film and it was decided to bring Hans Zimmer in at the 11th hour because they needed it scored, he’d composed the music in like month and half in it’s entirety. There’s a documentary called the The sound of 007, you all should check it out. It was great!! Another side note, this to diamond Dave, so you hear a musical cue in the track “I’ll be right back” it was used in during the car chase in Batman Begins, it was originally composed by Hans Zimmer for a Film called Black Rain back in 1989, film came out in 1989, so Hans Zimmer has been using this cue for over 30 years and it still has the emotional weight and even sounds better now with musical upgrades since he first wrote. Also Hans is self taught.

For little Easter eggs and that I'm not sure if most people know this but the scene where Bond strangles Blofeld in Belmarsh prison is exactly how Bond kills Blofeld while in a fit of rage in the novelisation of You Only Live Twice...without the Nanobots obviously.

I just want to add to what you were saying about the music. Hans Zimmer used snippets of I think every Bond actor from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig. for example, in there scene where M and Bond are talking by the Themes, a song from Dr. No (first ever Bond film) is playing. What I loved about this film is that they had a little bit of each Bond in it. It's a callback but at the same time a tribute.

Yah, that end credit scene kind of implies that long-running fan theory that the name "James Bond" is just like a codename they give to their new 007 agent. And with that, it would mean Daniel Craig's James Bond is the original, since this rebooted all of the old Bond movies.

I watched this Bond movie in the theatre with my dad. Leading up to the release, we watched all 4 movies as we hadn't seen any (I saw Quantum of Solace a LONG time ago tho). I was dressing up to go to the theatre, put on black sweater, and then a dumb thought came to my mind: Should I wear a suit jacket to the movie? lol
But then I remembered that one of the posters for NTTD showed Bond in a cool tactical knit-sweater (the one he wears in the finale). i realized that my black sweater was already a good match lol
I had a blast watching this movie. Never expected to tear up/cry at a Bond movie but here we are.
Craig's run of Bond films has been fantastic. Looking forward to seeing him in Knives Out 2. Also, Paloma and Nomi movie when?? lol

Speaking of sugar, they used soda to make the tiles more sticky so the could pull of these driving stunts.

Don't hate.... It's such a fantastic track! And not going to lie, I listen to that square escape, Norway Chase, well the whole thing. I recommend not listening to square escape while driving 🤣 in my case, I immediately think I'm Bond doing the burn out 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I guess I meant that I get a little emotional with that song but I like Hans Zimmer so I know the score is always good when he is apart of any movie

The writers and producers literally said, "Screw it, we're going there" and chucked the formula out the window. Honestly, besides Bond dying, I am okay with it. I mean, would I like to go more back to formula for the next Bond film? Yes, but for this final chapter I was mostly okay with it. Again, besides Bond dying, that's still a tough pill. I mean I'm more okay with after rewatching and sitting on it more, but still, it's hard.
Safin letting Mathilde go didn't sit right with me the first time. However, rewatching several times now and thinking it over, it kind of makes sense and is in character. I mean Safin let Madeleine go when he freed her from the ice in the beginning of the movie. Also, Safin understands Mathilde won't ever like or accept him at that moment. I mean I'm sure a lot of people haven't liked and judged him throughout his life.

Yeah, maybe that was like a callback of sorts

Even in this reaction video, watching his death is tough. As you guys said, been watching Bond since I was a kid and Craig has been Bond for half my life. So yeah, it's tough. I mean there were rumors and a reviewer made a vague reference to Harrison Ford/The Force Awakens prior to my first viewing. Even still, I was like, "No...no, they're not gonna do that." And they did.
I have a love, and a bit of a hate relationship with this movie. It's not the ending I wanted. I mean you want to leave the theater, end the movie, and close Craig's run with a positive vibe. But as Billie Eilish sings in the opening song, "Life is far away from fair," and sometimes CIA/MI-6 agents really don't come home, but still. * sighs *

I get it. It's tough. I'm surprised they did it too. But didn't mind it. But I do see why don't wouldn't like it. 🤙

One thing that doesn't make sense is that we're supposed to believe that Safin is wayyyy older than Madeline .. he was a full grown adult when he was in that first scene and she was like 9..... Makes no sense
