  • Shooting my old Swede #M40 handgun, clone of Finland's L-35, built by #Husqvarna. I've had this for a while, but unfortunately the original barrel extension cracked in the rear and had to build a new barrel extension from parts I bought even longer ago.
With some help from friends in higher places, I managed to get this gun back in action and now she shoots well and straight!

The Pistol you show in the video with Serial number 56837 was originally shipped the 3rd of August 1944 in a batch of 150 to the Swedish Airforce with destination F14 (Flygvapnet 14) which was the military airfield in the city of Halmstad on the Swedish west coast.
Cracked barrel extensions are quite common. The ammo to be used was the 9mm m/39. However, the majority of the ammo used was m/39B which was supposed to be used in the m/45 sub machine gun. the +P+ pressure and the extremely thick FMJ built up far too much pressure for the pistol.

Thanks! Good info! I've got the original barrel extension marked "F14" over "30" as you can see in the still images towards the end. Unfortunately and expectedly, this had a crack on the rear where bolt meets the extension. Fortunately, I bought a very cheap barrel extension and parts kit a few years prior to buying the handgun. Always good to be prepared!

Your welcome, I have done some reserach on the m/40 and have compiled the delivery info on the aprox first 83000 pistols.
I have seen some successful weldings on the barrel extensions, but it needs to be done by a qualified welder/gunsmith. Just as when fixing cracks on the Sig-Neuhausen P210.
I came across your video and thought you might be interested of the info. Besides the Airforce marking and Infantry, I have a more rare K.FL marked (Navy) in my collection.
30 is most likely the internal Airforce F14 serial marking.

@dave houk My information on m40 With D-prefix is not complete. However, my research can verify that a minimum of 10000 pistols, Serial number range D5000-D15999 was ordered in April 1945, slightly before the end of the war. Order was placed by Danish Government in exile, with the purpose to arm the danish police. I have not managed to find reliable dates of shipments except for 2500 pistols in september and october 1945 and a larger number in 1946. All prefix D are marked HV (Haerens Våpenkammer/Army depot) with Crown above the letters, at the back end of the receiver while Swedish marking is S.S. (Sten Stenmo who was the control officer in the swedish army at the time)
Pistols bought and brought to Denmark with the danish brigade (police trained in Sweden) and shipped to Denmark on may 5th, 1945 when german army capitulated, were all of standard Swedish army model and with Swedish markings. These pistols were marked Rplt (Rigspolitiet/federal police) and serial number.
Sorry for not being able to give you more details

@@lt.torstenson It's truly laughable that in 2021 you're still trying to make Germans look like the villains. I wonder if white don't deserve to indeed die off due to their weakness and cowardice. The race that used to be the strongest, has become the most pathetic and weakest race of humans
Well I'm Swedish and my family fought in the Wehrmacht as volunteers in the Eastern front against the red cancer, the same evil that the allies sided with and collaborated in their crimes and genocides. You have no idea the horrors that people in the Baltics went through trying to ward off bolsheviks, who had many truly psychotic criminals, that worse, were brainwashed with bolshevik diseased ideologies, to kill European civilians. And if you know anything about communists, they're more than happy and willing to murder children for their sick ideology.
Germany was the bravest nation in the world defending us Europeans, yet the allied/zionist false narrative accuses Germans of commiting exactly what THEY did against Europeans. while not a single word is said about the allied war crimes and the communist genocidal end ethnic cleaning campaign's, and You're buying into that shit
But I guess the inevitable course of history will give you the rude awakening you bought yourself with your ideological choices and decisions, once you start feeling the effects of the ethnic replacement plans that globalists are putting in motion in Denmark, the social decay, violence, sexual degeneration and turmoil, I wonder if ppl like you are still going to keep your perceived moral high ground against "ignorant evil nationalists"
America is a complete trash fire now. The most degenerate country in the world, no longer Christian, conservative and white. It's the center of all depraved and immoral agenda being pushed onto the West, race mixing, porn, transgender bullshit and emasculation of white men, and all similar sick Marxist ideas planted to gradually destroy the white race from within

Strange that such a heavy pistol still generates so much recoil, I guess it must be the bolt accelerator that adds some hump.

Yes, extended use of the Swedish m/39b submachine gun ammo killed a lot of these (cracks in the frame) and should be avoided.
They are otherwise not so fussy with ammo - any modern European 115 or 124gr ammo (S&B, Fiocchi, Geco etc.) is fine, and so is Swedish m/39 (without the b suffix)
