How to Clean Resin Off Your Hands

  • Here is a little trick from one of our customers. We use it all the time now! keep some poppy seeds by your sink. If you get resin on your hands, it is super sticky - so take a pinch of seeds with some soap and DRY rub your hands. This acts like an exfoliant. Then wash with water and run away happily. Stay away from cleaning with solvents like paint thinners or vinegar - these break down the resin and make it easier to absorb into the skin. Be safe, and have fun... you crazy artists! :)

Everything I touched was affected! So lucky I did have some poppyseeds in the cupboard and this tip worked a treat instantly!! BRILLIANT!!

    I picked up some of those awesome nitrile gloves the other day. I usually work without gloves because I don't like how they feel but the nitrile are actually okay. I have been trying hard to use up all my existing resin making a bunch of 'fish ponds' so I can restock with Art Resin. :D
    My neighbor (retired vet) has been printing up a few photos lately in larger sizes. Told him to make some extras so I can give them an Art Resin treatment when I get it. :D I will also make more fish ponds and even bought some fish bowl looking small votive holders which I plan to put water dragons in that I make from clay.
    Awww was hoping you would make my day and pull that string! I am sweating buckets as the run start capacitor in my AC went out. It will be fixed today sometime. I am just waiting for the part to come in then will go buy it and come home to fix it. :p

    • @Artresin

      Often times if you just use soap and water you can still feel the sticky residue left behind. If that happens go grab some exfoliant to clean up. I wear gloves and resin gets all over me and everything else!

      It can do that! It's always important to put down drop cloths, table coverings, wear an apron, tie your hair back otherwise you can end up with sticky resin in some inconvenient places ;) I often end up changing gloves part way through if they are too sticky.

    Just grab some ACETONE! Or WD-40

    • @Artresin
      @Artresin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We don't recommend using acetone or alcohol or any other solvent to remove resin/hardener from your skin as the solvent will dissolve the resin and make it easily absorbed into your skin. Acetone is great for removing resin residue from surfaces but do not use it for skin.
