I worked at a Ponderosa close to an Amish community in Illinois. Every now and then we would have a horse and buggy in our parking lot! I befriended an Amish family that invited me to their home for a day! OMG some of the BEST food I've tasted! Their bread and peanut brittle blew me away! Thanks for sharing this review! Ponderosa was the best says kid me. Also I worked at Red lobster in Wooster Ohio we had a tie down out back for Amish and their buggies. A lot of stores around town even Walmart has a special area.
You pulled on her energy and it drained her! You killed BETH!! J-K….she was predestined to leave this earth too early; as if it were written in black and white and predicted in the 1800’s.
An FYI. You call it "stuffing" when it's stuffed into the bird. "Dressing" is when it's baked separately in a casserole dish. And "broasted" is when the chicken is marinated or brined first and then pressure fried. I think it's way better than fried chicken. Wish I had an Amish restaurant close to me. Thanks for the fun video, Timmy!
Stuffing and dressing wording is regional to different areas. I've been cooking stuffing for over 40 years and never once inside the bird. Yes, your wording makes sense but it's how each of us grew up. We put dressing on a salad. You do you, everyone else will do what they grew up with, all good. Take care 💛
@@RegularJoes I've always called it stuffing, too. About 10 years ago, I was watching Barefoot Contessa and she explained the difference. It made sense to me, but it will forever be "stuffing" in my book. Seems like folks on the East Coast refer to it more as "dressing." Whichever term you use, it's my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner!

Timmy dressing and stuffing are different foods! Stuffing is usually made with bread or cereal and is stuffed inside a turkey or chicken, while dressing is made with cornbread and meat is usually added to it like turkey or chicken (chicken dressing is my favorite!). ❤️
I was born in PA, where the only difference between stuffing and dressing is what the others have commented: stuffing is cooked inside the bird, and dressing isn't. Neither has cornbread nor meat in it, as it is typically served as a accompaniment to poultry. My family didn't start adding cornbread (but not meat) until we moved to the South (well, to FL.) And now I live in AL, where they make "chicken & dressing", which is a specific dish that includes meat and cornbread (and hard-boiled eggs 🤢). But as you said, dressing in the South seems to be different than dressing in the rest of the country. My college roommate's mother, who was born and raised in the South, added beaten eggs to her cornbread dressing.
@ I was born in Chicago and also now live in AL and me and my entire family (from Chicago and Mississippi) have always added meat to our dressing, side dish or not. Also any dressing I’ve EVER had (my extended family, friends, or potlucks with random people) the dressing that was brought was ALWAYS made with cornbread. If it wasn’t then it was considered stuffing. I absolutely hate stuffing lol! Like I’ll vomit if I eat it, hence why I prefer cornbread dressing.

Omg we had a Der Dutchman here in Southern Ohio when I was younger and my family & I loved eating there. Unfortunately it burned down and they rebuilt it someplace else so I haven't eaten at one of these restaurants since.....I didn't think they still existed.....I totally forgot about them.
There's one near Columbus and it's phenomenal! You must go!!
@heathercampbell4074 oooh thank you ❤️

Timmy! Glad you liked the food! Country home cooking is some of the best out there, and it's always so hard to find a good restaurant out there.
TIMMY OMG!!!!! lol lol lol I am DYING at this. I live in Indiana, and the original Der Dutchman is called Essenhaus is in my hometown. That’s where all the Der Dutchman started. I cannot wait to show this review to everyone. You need to come up to Indiana and try the original. It’s SO good. The breakfast buffet is the best. I ADORE YOU ❤
Love you Timmy! You always brighten my day :)
Watching you while hanging out with my foster kittens. They are fascinated. Olive, Sweet Pea and Popeye say hello!
I pass by this place every day on my way to work & have been contemplating going there - the little shop upstairs has me sold.
I’m early!!!! HI TIMMY!!! thank you for making me smile.
Loved this! Love you! I have been to Pennsylvania and had Amish food. So good! I sometimes use recipes from them for my own home cooked meals. Really cool you had an opportunity to feast on the Amish meals. Love your sense of humor and sensitivity. Thank you Timmy.
Timmy, the music is sending me 😂 this might just be the funniest video you’ve ever put out 💙
omg it's been years since I've been to this restaurant despite living in Sarasota county for most of my life, but I vividly remember how much I enjoyed the food there!!! thank you for always giving such honest reviews timmy (':
