This is how America 🇺🇸 was built. By determined, strong in mind, body, and soul, men and women, and their magnificent horses. Thanks for this amazing video.
Amen
The 8-mule hitch sure pulled some big logs! Impressive! Pretty sure that's the most Amish carriages and horses I've ever seen parked in one spot! Enjoy walking around with you Brenda!! Thanks for bringing us with you! See you tomorrow!
Great video. Amazing to see that many folks together, and no liter!
Another great day Brenda and Jim 😊
I love the Buggy parking lot, so many in one place, very impressive !
Does make one wonder how far they have come, lovely way to travel.
@@louisecassidy5991 Horse and Buggy is a very peaceful way to travel around a local community
Wow, exciting stuff. Thanks Miss Brenda for carrying us around this huge place with you.
wow, thats quite a gathering of buggies and carts.
This event requires some dedication for sure, Both days were brutal hot and Saturday especially with real feel temps over 105 degrees. Full sun in most places as well, I was actually concerned about the horses and their ability to function tbh. Very educational programs and its nice to see different techniques and ideas coming together. You both looked like you had a blast. Keep up the great work.
Horses seem to cope very well in extreme temperatures, heat is ok just so long as they get all the water they want. However, if you know they are very thirsty, they need to be topped up carefully. If you let them guzzle too much too quick they get an awful bellyache. Many of these rural horses have never tasted chlorinated/fluoridated town water, which can cause issues as some would rather die than touch it, so it makes me wonder now where all the supplied water has been sourced, as best pumped from a creek if it is for livestock.
@@louisecassidy5991 nice to know this. I figured since I was sweltering, all that gear and exposure would affect them similarly, this makes me feel better
@@louisecassidy5991 I disagree, horses can not cope very well in extreme temperatures, not all of them had a cover either. Have you ever been to horse auctions where these horses are sent to slaughter for meat? There is a HUGE amount of Amish horses, who are overworked and basically thrown away to these auctions. They are not all well cared for. It is inhumane to see the Amish horses after they have been run into the ground and and discarded and sent through the slaughter pipeline only to be horrifically shipped to Mexico and Canada to be tortured and killed. Not so cool.
Hey Brenda, Your video of all the wonderful activities at Horse Progress Days was amazing . The Heavy 8 Mule Hitch was incredible hauling those massive logs and 8 to 10 Amish Folks on top of the load. Those draft mules are massive and super strong . Thank You for the marvelous and entertaining video.
Thanks for. The video
Great video especially enjoyed the mule hitch. My uncle raised, trained and sold two teams of mules that were born on his farm in western Pennsylvania. I think that is where I developed my love for horses, riding on the back of his work horses when I was 8 or 10 years old.
Good job Brenda, we so appreciate and look forward to your videos. Strange enough the parking lot put it in prospective, thanks and God bless!
big mules. and eight mules!
What a great event! Ranks right up there with a county fair! America at its best.😊
Brenda and Jim, thanks for sharing your lives with us. The Amish community is amazing? Holding on to the old values, their skills . From Belgiu, thanks for sharing this with us. We always look forward to the next video. Anneke_Patrick
Thank you, Brenda, for taking all of us to horse progress days. 😀👍
Great sharing, interesting💙💙💙💙Thank you
Brenda and Jim, thank you so very much for sharing with us. We appreciate you guys!!!
Most impressive...the FREE watering station!!! Any other gatherings (rodeos, fairs, tractor pulls etc...) You get charged an arm and a leg for a bottle of water. Nice to see such generosity. Yes..as simple as water!😉🙂
Great seeing the timber frame!! Great craftsmanship!
Great video! I love watching the Amish folks working!
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Horse Progress Days! Thank you so much for sharing.
super coverage Brenda,we did enjoy seeing all of the carts. we're so glad it did not rain..safe going homeward..have a nice strawberry ice cream cone!
I could definitely see you Brenda driving one of those beautiful little buggy,s and a sweet little pony 😊
I definitely imagine Brenda driving Duke in an Amish built surrey carriage
Always amazes me how all those horses can be parked together and no drama
Brenda, thank you for these wonderful videos of Progress Days. They are fantastic. The carriage parking lot was so neat to see. It was jaw dropping to see the Amish lifestyle! Thank you so much.💖
Thank you Brenda for sharing. Especially for those of us who can't attend. ❤❤
Oh good gracious...this is so amazing..I wish I could have gone and seen ALL of this. thank you so much Brenda for not only filming this ,but; for showing us such amazing things. GOD BLESS AMERICA .lov from south alabama.
Another impressive, informative, thoroughly enjoyable video. Thank you Brenda for another "home run"! - ACD
Love the "parking " lot.
You had a long walk along those beautiful horses. All the horses and mules are so nice. It would be so fun to be at The Horse Progress Show. Your videos are very interesting. Thank you for taking us along. 😊😊😊
Thanks for sharing your Horse Progress Days experience
Brenda thank you for video taping this event and so wonderful to all the people at this event especially with the heat. Like how the water stations are set up for everyone to stay hydrated. Jim and Brenda stay safe and have a great time. Love the Amish buggy parking lot and how the horse's are taken care of too. God bless you both❤❤
Thank you for the tour I like seeing the machinery
Welcome to south central PA (a place that has been home for my fam since 1787 ) I never take for granted how great Lancaster co is all the counties surrounding Lancaster have growing populations of Amish looking for fertile farm land see those rows of buggy's at public sales, festivals etc, every weekend
Last year I took my first overseas trip from Australia to PA. And welcomed I was 🙏💖 My first drive on US soil was there, and it felt like home, like I've never felt before 💕🏡💕🐎🌳🦌🌳
One of the hardest things I've ever done was leave PA. It is so special in so many ways. A piece of my heart was left in Wellsboro and PA ❤❤❤
Hoping to get back one day to see Southern countys too🌳🐎🌳🐎🏡🦌🌳💖 Gods Country 🙏
It was very nice to watch,we are very impressed, keep up the good works
Amazing video lil lady enjoyed it very much👍
It sure is good to be able to see what is going on- looks like a beautiful day! Thank you so much for sharing with us out here! We appreciate you sharing your beautiful videos! God bless you and your family!
This is truely amazing at the number of Amish that have come to this event. Something that would be interesting to see in the future.
A new world record for the number of straw hats per acre.
And braces to hold up the duds.
Thankyou so so much for sharing this great day with us,just wish l was with you and Jim.Maybe one day I'll meet you both fingers crossed.Best wishes dear friends 💞

yes, thanks for the walk around
Thanks for all the hard work!
105°F is more than 40°C, for your international TH-cam market. 🇲🇼🇱🇾🇱🇻🇽🇰🇯🇴😉
I hope Jim’s not thinking about getting a team of mules 😅😅Thanks for filming this and taking us along.
Very nice to see!!!
Thank You Brenda.
Such an informative look at alternative ways of living... so close to home ! Thanks
Beautiful video reminds me of when I was younger and people were better
Look like a really nice show. I think you guys probably enjoyed yourself. It’s so nice to watch some of the Amish and how they did things back many years ago before we had gas engines. I think that’s why I enjoy your channel so much. Keep up the good videos.
Lovely show thanks.
Thank you!
That one light colored horse was just prancing as they were pulling . 😊
Thank you for sharing
Fascinating, thanks Brenda.
Those high logging arches would be a killer getting on and off them all day in the woods.
Saw yall there. Lots of miles to cover to get across everything.
Fantastic Video for sure
Wow it is so interesting! Those were some of the largest mules I have ever seen. Wish I lived closer because I would have loved to be there.
Man ,I bet Jim will come back with new equipment.
Best cared for animals and right down too barn cats...I have much respect
The American way thanks Brenda !
Nice video. I was impressed with the plastic mulch remover. They can recycle that plastic or just reuse it. Very interesting show. Sort of like New York's Empire State Farm Show but with Amish Equipment and farming practices. Thank You.
👍👍👍👍
👍💯
Fun!❤
Wow, that's a LOT of buggies!
Sweet log trailer
Interesting
Fascinating!
Love the video, keep up the good work.
Great job 👍
They should make you guys honorary Amish!!
Hi Brenda, Thank you for the video! Old School! Love it! Do the Amish make kits of the sheds? Or do they always sell the sheds already built? Nice calming video! Jim loves him some everything horses! The horse whisperer!,,,,🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
Jim and Brenda This.looked like a great event in PA Jim did a great job while running a horse that h e never worked with before Is it always the same date in July Might need to put it on my bucket list
It's usually at the same time every year, but not at the same place. This is about the furtherest east this event comes, but it certainly is worth going to!
The eight mule team was impressive! Did they use an excavator to put the logs on the massive wagon, or was horse power used? Sill loving the "Log Henge" demonstrations...Timber!
What tall mules!
What nice-looking corn in that field. The mules are an impressive team. Has Jim ever worked with any?
I reckon maybe not, or not much. Mule people will tell you they never go back to horses. Mules do well in rough conditions, and have more stamina than horses. They don't startle easily, and I am told they think more like a dog. And look out if they don't like the way they are treated!
@@louisecassidy5991 Sound like characters..
Very exciting.
The horsepower testing machine needs a large LED display to show the results of every pull.
Nah, these guys are purists, although it would be interesting to get a real readout, would go with "Progress".
Cool videos
Awesome. 🙌🏼Very interesting. How do they tell who’s buggy is who’s?
Their own horses would be directly across the way, plus each buggy would have some difference, or even just something like a rug or coat or gear left on it.
What is the machine that the horses and young men pulling the cable?
It's like a dyno for testing horsepower but instead of testing engines it tests the horsepower of horses and mules!
@@baitammo4652 Great Answer
I wish you could explain the rules for the Amish, using electric tools, gas engines etc.
I have a question does Jim speak the Dutch language of the Amish ? Just curious 😊
I believe Jim has enough difficulty speaking English. Short answer " no".😅😅😅
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💝
Is this a annual event?
How can I get info about this event,?
Yes it is, but it’s at a different location every year. If you google Horse progress days 2025, you should be able to get info as we know they are already planning the event. Next year it’s in Michigan.
👍🏽👍🏽
Ik groet u als eerste jan
🙂
What I'd like to know is how do they find their own horse and carriage at the end of the day??
Just about all of the horses and most of the buggies look the same! 😅
Can someone please tell me the purpose of the collar shield/cover on the horse Jim is driving
It is mostly for looks, but if it rain or snows it protects the collar
Thankyou Jim . Rain and snow shield ,makes great sense. I always thought just for looks .😊😊😊
Where was this
Like 👍
🧐👍👏👋
stay free !
I prefer mules above horses
How is this progress?? Those poor animals in the heat working of standing in the hot sun for hours.
mules are equines....

Mules are a lot smarter then a horse that was showed to me and i never forgot it
