How To Delete 'Other' Files From Mac

- Let me show you how to delete other files on your Mac. This may be taking hundreds of gigabytes of storage on your Mac. You can find it by clicking the apple logo, choosing about this Mac, and selecting storage.
Here, you’ll see a grey bar showing the amount of storage taken up by “other” storage.
If you click manage, you won’t be able to delete other files or remove anything from that section. It will only show how much storage it is taken up.
One thing I recommend before doing this. First, make sure to backup your Mac to a time machine. All you need to do this is an external hard drive.

Hi there, for some reason, I don’t see the Library folder… I have about 400 GB I’m Other files, but I am not able to locate them using the CleanMyMac app… when I started the process, i clicked on Space Lens… it scanned my computer for a long time, but it says it hate it only scanned 62.2 GB in Space lens…

!!!!!!!! in the 04:10 if you don't have the FULL VERSION of this app, you can right click on the file and you see 'REVEAL IN FINDER' click that and you'll see that file you wanna delete at you finder files

this helped alot, if you're having problems locating the folder, just rightclick the folder on clean my mac and there should be an option that locates it for you in finder

Hey, I need help my Mac says it has around 250 gb of storage in the storage menu it says that I have over 225 gb in volumes of containers. What do I do?
If my imac started with 1T and I now have 250GB left but most of the space taken up is by OTHER can my imac still run ok? (Also I went to caches but I'm not sure which caches can be removed..I use my computer for music production and most of caches folders are from my the plugins and Vst/Au that I use..)

hey this worked for me amazingly and on clean my mac it shows my storage has went down, and my settings say that the other useres and shared has also went down but my free space is still the same
Im having a problem. My other storage is taking over 60GB of storage and my laptop is saying the storage is full, but when I use cleanmymac, it says that Im only unsing 88 GB out of 121. None of my folders even show over 60 GB either.

You do have to pay for the clean my Mac option. They force you to pay to do a full clean or a small clean of the other storage

my space lens scan keeps stopping in the 80% mark, does anyone know why this might be? any help would be greatly appreciated!
The scan doesn't seem to give me access to "other files". It is showing my system files as 16GB and then it goes onto applications and lower GB files. My Mac still says I have 48GB of other storage not seen in the scans. Any advice?

Turns out that I downloaded Fortnite on my Mac then deleted it, and 92GB HAS STILL BEEN LEFT. I will get the clean my Mac x subscription now!

For me, once it showed me the files that were the problem I could right click on the file within the app and it says something like ‘reveal in finder’, clicked on that, and there it was
