I was out hiking in upstate NY and came across an Airedale who stopped me on the trail and would not let me proceed until his owner came up on us shortly thereafter. That dog was making sure his owner (an elderly woman) was safe.
Such a beautiful breed and so intelligent. Can see why they have been used as police dogs, as well as having served alongside soldiers during world wars. 🙏🤗🐕
Airedales fo anything but drive your car clowns, companions, and hard dogs that will hunt anything you'd want to hunt.Ibe had them ever since I was 17. I am now 70 . I had 7 at one time we all left ved in the same house, and it was a blast...
This Airedale looks young and probably not more than 55 lbs. He will probably put on another 8 pounds of muscle as he matures. I've seen them at 120 lbs and they can knock down the biggest targets. In Texas I watched 7 or 8 illegals climb over my backyard fence as did my airedale named Cazador, he weighed almost 70 pounds. It was not more then 5 seconds and he was on one of them then another who tried to help his buddy. Had I not called him off, it could have been fatal for at least one if not more. I let them climb back over the fence, mauled and all. I didn't delight in watching Cazador maul those guys, but praised my dog for doing what he was trained for.
Lmao i got bit by my friend's Airadale it wasn't even her fault the second she did I felt so bad for the dog and cursed my friend out for freaking out his dog 😂
Looked to me like the Airedale had good speed and courage. And one or two of them in the house would probably have your family as well protected as most folks need. However if you want to be even more sure about things, think of an Airedale catching and slowing and intruder backed by the muscle of say a Rottweiler.
If I had kids I would rather have 2 Airedales than a Rottweiler and an Airedale. The Rottweiler has a massive jaw and could inflict more harm on your child. You never know. Dogs can be unpredictable. An Airedale is intimidating enough and will alert you so you can turn to a firearm.
@@lorimav if the rottweiler is trained and socialised correctly they shouldn’t attack ur child , and an airedale can also do loads of damage to a child

Just got a new 3 month old airedale puppy yesterday...this is my second airedale.
Owned 3 airedales myself. They very capable dogs for protection work. Very nice!
I love them...mine would have just taken off into the woods and kept on going...lol.
That information is good to know.

Love my airedales! Have owned 6 over the years,❤❤❤ once you go airehead! You never go back!
Had a female Airedale/German Shepard mix in the past. She was very protective and had a low tolerance for stupid...still miss her
All I can say is I want one
My mother had an airdale that was like a bear. Very protective of us kids

That dog loves to work!
Airedales are terriers, fighters, malinois are sheep dogs.

No my 100 pound Airedale backed up by 180 pound doubullmastiff. Quite the security team I must admit.

I’d really love to see this dog in a muzzle fight
