If anything like my Mackie mixers - will be on my list of future upgrades. Always been a Mackie fan since my DJing days and remote broadcasting - and based on your review here sounds like they are off to actually a solid start into the podcasting and such arena.

I didn't know anything about Mackie, only knew the name. I'm currently digging into their catalog and discovering the diversity of products they are offering.
I am quite amazed. Best part is it's an American Cie, which I like a lot. (French Canadian here :)

Thanks for the detailed review! I am considering buying the DLZ but have heard some people talking about this mixer does have some latency up to 5ms. Have you experienced any noticable latency? And how does this mixer do for music production / karaoke?

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's fine.
      5ms is stunningly low.
I highly doubt ANYONE could perceive that.
And while I know there are people that claim to...I do NOT believe them.
I have known some of the best ears in audio...and they struggle to pick up on 10ms.
So...do with that info what you like

@@DarkCornerStudios Good to know, thank you!
Do you happen to know if the FX/EQ on each input channel can be turned on/off independently for each output? (for example say if I want headphone #1 to play audio mix including EQ and Effects, and headphone #2 to not include any EQ from any of the inputs, would that be possible?)
Also do you know if the parameters of auto ducking (like delay or volume) can be adjusted?

Thanks for the extremely informative video! I’m considering the DLZ Creator very seriously. I know the Easy Mode was not to your liking (yet), and I would consider my level between Easy and Enhanced with just enough knowledge (so far) to be dangerous, haha. Would you consider this product something that I could learn from and grow with as I progress into all these audio things you guys talk about that was foreign to me just a few months ago? To me it seems so, but I would appreciate your opinion. The microphone bug got me first so the mics I will be using are the SM7B, the RE320 and the RE20. I’m a seasoned graphic designer and I find this new medium fascinating and useful. Thanks again, I look forward to other videos on the DLZ Creator.

Soooo, you and I have the same things in common, I am using the same mic and I have mine at about 70db. I actually bought it for doing voice-over work. I worry about having to have my gain up to 70db I would love to be able to get a good sound in the neighborhood about -6db on my daw.

      Glad I can be helpful!
To be honest...I LOVE the DLZ...and I am currently working on the XS version...you will have to wait til Monday for my opinion on that.
      As for which one?
The RCP2 has the edge over the DLZ in my mind...but it is slim.
Also...they both offer a few different things that might be the sell for you.
But if you think the DLZ is the right one for you...yes...it is a fantastic piece of gear

Needs more combo jack inputs. 4 with preamps is not enough for a mixer. I need at least 10. The Yamaha DM3S or DM3D is a peg above this albeit a bit more expensive but I like the Mackie UI better.

It is $1079 Canadian and Amazon is making a hard push to pair it with multiple SM7bs. Let's assume you go with their suggestion and buy the unit and two SM7bs. That's well over $2000 to start.

Great video. I bought the DLZ and I love it. There are some quirks but I'm sure they will get ironed out. I love the size, however I'm 6'9 so I guess it fits. haha I think there is something wrong with your faders, mine are not tilted and seem consistent. I have the original RCP which is no comparison obviously. I think the RCP II and DLZ are just different beasts. Like you said we'll just have to see how the DLZ develops and how well they support it. One thing for sure competition is a good thing. Let's face it Rode made the DLZ possible.
