    Thanks for the extremely informative video! I’m considering the DLZ Creator very seriously. I know the Easy Mode was not to your liking (yet), and I would consider my level between Easy and Enhanced with just enough knowledge (so far) to be dangerous, haha. Would you consider this product something that I could learn from and grow with as I progress into all these audio things you guys talk about that was foreign to me just a few months ago? To me it seems so, but I would appreciate your opinion. The microphone bug got me first so the mics I will be using are the SM7B, the RE320 and the RE20. I’m a seasoned graphic designer and I find this new medium fascinating and useful. Thanks again, I look forward to other videos on the DLZ Creator.

      To be honest...I LOVE the DLZ...and I am currently working on the XS version...you will have to wait til Monday for my opinion on that.
      As for which one?
      The RCP2 has the edge over the DLZ in my mind...but it is slim.

    Interesting piece of gear. If I was still in AM/FM radio I could see this in a production room, newsroom or auxiliary studio. But is it really appreciably better than the Rodecaster Pro (both editions)? Rode designed the original one from the ground up with podcast production in mind and by upgrades improved it. When the pandemic started I know broadcasters gobbled the Rodecaster up for staff working from home. With some tweaks it's a little radio station in a box. Mackie seems to have picked up on this as well. Is it worth more than Rode? I'm not sure (nor am I sure that the second generation Rodecaster Pro is a better value than the first). For broadcast work, it's cheaper than an Arrakis board which has dubious build quality and less features. Again, I could easily see this for auxiliary use.
    But let's get down to podcasting and remote work. I have a Rodecaster Pro, Focusrite Vocaster 2 (yet to use), Zoom P4 and an old mixer with adapters that actually works for recording MixMinus phone interviews after you get everything set up. Hands down the one that gets used the most for my national podcast is the Zoom P4 now selling for $149 USD. Is it the best build quality? Nope. Best preamps and wizardry? Nope. Best design, especially for heavy use? Also nope. That said, the little bugger simply works and turns out decent quality recordings. I toss it into a $16 case from War-Mart with a couple of SM58's, little tripod stands and short cables and I can record from almost anywhere (using a wall USB adapter is highly recommended vs. batteries). It does such a good job that my Rodecaster is seldom used. That said, yes the P4 could stand some improvements (which would drive the cost up) but they are mostly matters of convenience. It's easy to understand why and how the P4 gets overlooked but it kicks ass, especially at its price point and portability.
    If someone is starting out podcasting/streaming (the P4 can serve as an interface, too) lets look at the real numbers (USD):
    Z4 - $150
    2-SM58 - $200 (buy on sale and use the $20 savings for windscreens)
    Cables (phone and XLR) - $30
    Mic stands - $20
    SD card - $10
    Earbuds - $15
    Add my personal preference - 2 Fetheads - $180 - improve gain/sound quality, less noise.
    Pretty darn affordable. Of course the Rodecaster Pros and clones have additional features, better build quality, etc., but the dispositive question is whether you really need and will use that? To me, the real benchmark is the P4 if you're doing an audio only podcast. (For chits and grins, I'd like to see the higher end gear compared to the P4.). Yes, there are some compromises but must are easily worked around.
    (And then there's "reverse sticker shock" where something may seem too cheap to be any good. I remember when Xerox introduced a $499 multifunction printer/scanner/copier/FAX and had trouble selling them because customers thought it couldn't possibly be any good. It was.)

    • @koolpep
      @koolpep ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. Rodecaster Pro, P8 and P4 plus a Tascam Portacapture X8 and if it needs to be fast or portable, the P4 always gets the job done. It’s crazy value for money.

I love the size, however I'm 6'9 so I guess it fits. haha I think there is something wrong with your faders, mine are not tilted and seem consistent.
