When we was kids my friend got a Zebco 77 for Christmas we fished some private ponds the ol 77 the gears couldn't handle a continuous amount of 3+ pound bass good crappie poles, Thanks for the memories.
Glad you enjoyed the video. The old black & white 77 was my very first fishing pole back in the mid 70s. Every time I fish with one now, it's a trip down memory lane. These days, I keep the drag set lightly to reduce the wear and tear on the gears. I don't think I really understood what the drag did when I was a kid.
My Dad came hom one wet snowy dad in 1969 and he had a zebco 77 for me. A "grown up" rod and reel. Prcticed in the yard with the included casting plug until spring came. Bobbers and hand dug worms. My first fish was a 19 inch channel cat. Still have the picture on my wall. Two front teeth missing and all.
I love to hear stories like that. I got my 77 (my first fishing pole) around 1974. One nasty rainy day when I was about 6 years old, I caught an 18-inch pike on it. I was lucky it didn't cut my line, as I didn't have a leader. I believe I was fishing with a red and black Lazy Ike.

That was a joy watching that 77 go to work. Fun video!!
Thanks, Tommy. Hopefully, it inspires you to take one of yours out this year and bring back some memories.

The 33s are great reels. I can't get enough of them. I may be a 33 hoarder...
