Things to note from the smash reveal: -Kazuya has a rage mechanic. -Kazuya has access to his rage drive. -Kazuya has access to bound mechanic moves (f+f, 3) -Kazuya can backdash. -Kazuya can wave dash. -Kazuya can EWGF, implying some execution and input. In sum, buy him.
Of course, Sakurai was shaped by the 90s fg's. That scene was probably decisive for the making of SSB on 64. But it's those SSB kids that dont have any idea of that. And in a way it's kinda ok (except when there's clear disrespect). It's was Nintendo that chose to not welcome fg's ever again since the 64 gen. So those kids who happen to be exclusive Nintendo owners from that time are more like victims of Nintendo's questionable decisions. I mean, in the Snes era any Nintendo owner had access to the hot things going on the fg arcade scene: SF, FF, AOF, SS, MK, KI, etc. Those owners werent alienated, only the younger ones.

I highly recommend checking out Sakurai Presents when that comes, that video showing of Kazuya’s moves is just 20% of what the Present video will show. Going over the history of Tekken, overview of how Kazuya plays, how the stage plays, music and even watch Sakurai himself play as the character. Trust me, he won’t disappoint on how much care he puts in the DLCs of Smash Ultimate. Update: I never felt so disappointed in my life… The arrogance of the reaction… 🤦♂️

TheMainManSWE if you can see this: As of late Smash has taken extra steps to allow guest DLC characters to have a sort of "feel" close to their actual playstyle, but while still adhering to the SMASH mechanics. So in a way they still ARE themselves for some familiarity, but they play by SMASH rules if that makes sense lol.
They do everything possible to translate the signature elements of the games they come from into their gameplay style. That's why Ryu, Ken and Terry all have arguably the most technical movesets of all the Smash characters, and become much more powerful, the more of an execution monster the player is

I know the Street Fighter characters you can execute special moves using motions. They may implement the crouch dash mechanics for him. I wouldn't be surprised. Also I think changing to Devil may be a high damage exclusive. The comeback mechanic in Smash occurs when the character reaches 80%+ and deals more damage to their opponent.

After Tekken 6 and Tag 2 failed to grab my attention, Tekken 7 did thanks to Akuma since I was a Street Fighter 4 player. Akuma is one of the least beginner-friendly characters in the game, but I loved him.

Smash trailers are almost always this good, especially for the DLC chars. Even if you don't play Smash they are worth a watch. (But you should play Smash)
Ive only played SSB nintendo 64, gamecube and Wii, damn this makes me wanna buy the switch and the game. Much respect to Sakurai, you can tell he cares for Kazuya. Heichachi had his moment in Soul Calibur series and All Stars, Jin had his in S x T and others, so it finally nice to see Kazuya my man, get to his shining moment. I love that Nintendo orchestra version of Emotionless Passion.

You know it's really cool. Smash is the fighting game I play harcore but thanks to the main man I started my tekken journey with tekken 7 and got into that game and fell in love with it. Now the main man is here with a chance to try my favorite game with a charecter we both love. Video games are awsome when It comes to bringing people into new experiences
As a smash fan I am legitimately happy about this addition. I don’t see why we shouldn’t have more fighting game characters. I’m more familiar with heihachi but kazuya deserves to be here as much as any other character.
I like how as a casual oriented game, Smash gave Kazuya a casual player's moveset : (not electric) wind god fist, hellsweep, thunder god fist, WS2, uf4444, b3141, lasers, throws and a 10 hit combo

I just found funny that the trailer looked more appealing to a casual player than a veteran player... Or perhaps it's Tekken that looks more appealing to casuals than veterans, and Smash actually did a good job translating that, not sure xD

Smash trailers usually troll or impress the audience. Sakurai is an amazing trailer director. I’ve been taking a break from Smash to play Tekken, glad a friend of mine introduced me to your channel, I would never have learned to play Tekken without your work main man.
Smash community went angry when they saw Terry Bogard, Ken, Ryu, Kazuya and calling them for boring characters and one Nintendo fan got pissed off when Kazuya throw Nintendo characters on the volcano 🌋

Smash trailers are almost always this good, especially for the DLC chars. Even if you don't play Smash they are worth a watch. (But you should play Smash)
Ive only played SSB nintendo 64, gamecube and Wii, damn this makes me wanna buy the switch and the game. Much respect to Sakurai, you can tell he cares for Kazuya. Heichachi had his moment in Soul Calibur series and All Stars, Jin had his in S x T and others, so it finally nice to see Kazuya my man, get to his shining moment. I love that Nintendo orchestra version of Emotionless Passion.
Sakurai's presentation but if you're into tekken i bet youd get a lot out of it. The video also serves as a "how to play" where he compares smash movement to tekken movement

You know it's really cool. Smash is the fighting game I play harcore but thanks to the main man I started my tekken journey with tekken 7 and got into that game and fell in love with it. Now the main man is here with a chance to try my favorite game with a charecter we both love. Video games are awsome when It comes to bringing people into new experiences

As a smash fan I am legitimately happy about this addition. I don’t see why we shouldn’t have more fighting game characters. I’m more familiar with heihachi but kazuya deserves to be here as much as any other character.
I like how as a casual oriented game, Smash gave Kazuya a casual player's moveset : (not electric) wind god fist, hellsweep, thunder god fist, WS2, uf4444, b3141, lasers, throws and a 10 hit combo
considering there’s a just frame move in the game already (Incineroar’s Alolan Whip), I’m sure we’ll get electrics
@@nassoltd Yeah there are plenty of surprisingly technical stuff in Ultimate, they'll surely give something to traditional FGC players, like they did with inputs for Ryu/Ken and Terry. I just found funny that the trailer looked more appealing to a casual player than a veteran player... Or perhaps it's Tekken that looks more appealing to casuals than veterans, and Smash actually did a good job translating that, not sure xD

I don't think it's 50/50 bc of spot dodge and faster jumps
from what ive seen in Smash games, they could jump that high. But if Electrics can also catch someone jumping it could be really good.
I don't have the system so I wasn't gonna look at the trailer until I did... But since tmm watching it, that's kinda perfect for our first time to be together
