- „Dark Eyes“ (Dunkle Augen) ist eine bekannte Romanze, die der ukrainische Dichter Yevhen Hrebinka geschrieben hat.
Die nachfolgenden Zeilen sind eine freie Übersetzung des Textes.
"Dunkle Augen, flammende Augen
Brennende und schöne Augen
Wie ich dich liebe, wie ich dich fürchte!
Es scheint, ich sah dich in einer unglücklichen Stunde.
Dunkle Augen, flammende Augen
Sie flehen mich an in ferne Länder
Wo Liebe herrscht, wo Frieden herrscht
Wo es kein Leiden gibt, wo Krieg verboten ist."
Ich wünschte, überall auf dieser Welt wäre Krieg für immer verboten!

Schöne Interpretation, aber wenn Sie „Dark eyes“ spielen wollen, geben Sie mir Models mit dunklen Augen, nicht grün und blau wie in Ihrem Video, es sieht immer noch gut aus
Vielen Dank für deinen Kommentar! Mir ging es erster Linie um die Musik. Für die dazu passenden Videos brauche ich lizenzfreie Bilder. Es ist nicht immer leicht, die passenden Bilder zu finden. Da muss ich manchmal Kompromisse machen. Ich hoffe, du magst die Musik und die Models trotzdem.

a wonderful performance of the Ukrainian romance by Hrebinka - Dark Eyes. when the Russians started passing it off as their own, they couldn't translate Ukrainian word - OCHI - eyes, so they left it like that

Grebenka was born and lived in the Russian Empire in the 19th century, he wrote poetry in both RUSSIAN and UKRAINIAN.
The poem "Black eyes... in RUSSIAN was originally written, because it was dedicated to the his future wife of Maria Rastenberg, the daughter of a landowner neighbor, a former officer of the Russian army and a GERMAN by nationality!
The romance became popular due to the performance by the GYPSY choir in the Moscow restaurant "YAR".
The romance is performed to the music of Florian Herman's waltz "Hommage" in the treatment of Sophus Gerdal. He was a JEW by nationality, originally from Berdichev and worked as a bandmaster in the Moscow restaurant "YAR".
Later the romance entered in the repertoire of the great RUSSIAN singer Fyodor Shaliapin.
That's how the poems of the Ukrainian poet turned into the world-famous Russian romance of people of many nationalities!
The word "ОКО" - "GLAZ", ("Ochi" in the plural) in Russian has the same meaning, only it is considered obsolete!
