    Im so happy motion control is still a thing with rhe avata 2. We use the first avata for content creation, and motion control makes it possible for anyone to with confidence and precision. A full on FPV pilot wouldn't have use for motion control, but the rest of us mortals do, and it really lets you fly and put the drone where you want it.

    Thank you, man for the review. My starter FPV was the Avata, and I got rid of it because of the top load and went with the GEPRC CineLog 35 V2. Yes, I think I will go with the 25 because of the size. I'm hooked beyond belief because of the Avata. I have friends I am trying to get into FPV, and I think the Avata 2 may be the one to get them over. Thank you for this review. Keep it up, brother!!

    I am not a navy seal of FPV 🤣🤣🤣 but I’ve flown several different ones and each has its cons/pros. As for the Avata1, I can’t stand how loud it is, and how bad it flies in M-mode when compared to something like a Cinelog25 in Acro mode, but you cannot beat the convenience of traveling with an Avata compared to having to take a bunch of 4S or 6S batteries and a bulky charger with a Cinelog, another thing to mention is that if they improved the camera system on the Avata2, that alone is worth the upgrade. Having to use a naked GoPro on top of a cinelog is something else you don’t have to worry about when you have an integrated camera system that will be as good as an Action4 or better. DJI is getting better and better at making these FPV drones. GepRC may have the edge now on freestyle quads performance, but I don’t think that’s going to be the case in the future just like DJI are GoPro’s lunch after a few iterations of their action cameras. BUT the most annoying part of flying a DJI Avata is being forced to dealing with NFZ and remote ID, especially when you’re flying indoors or below 50ft which is 90% of what I do when I fly FPV

    The frame on the avata is easy to change hope they keep that way. I am glad they got rid of the so called legs where the antenna's are, that is where it always break. Thanks for the review.

    Hey, WOW, what a review! My first time watching you, this is great! I have Mini 3’s and a 4 Pro, wanted to get FPV goggles for it to learn. Will consider Avata 2 in the future, kinda felt there’d be an upgrade like it was for Mini 3-> 4 Pro! Watched lots of Avata vids. Great dialogue, real, and honest!🫡 Can’t wait to binge watch your previous posts!🇺🇸

    Yeah Ive also been flying DJI since the Naza v2 on my TBS Disco! I think I will go with a cinebot25 with naked hero for real estate in 2024, But never having flown the Avata 1 I would like to have this new one in my tool kit of drones. Maybe they will sell the whole combo with the new DJI controller 3 becasue as of right now its $200 extra so thats $1400 after tax

    Hopefully with the new design the SD card is at a more reasonable location. I would also expect an improvement in flight time. Looks like it might have a push-button flip-roll feature, in my opinion that was a mistake as gimmick buttons are better suited for the sub $100 drone market. Will I buy one? Maybe.

    Hey, as a first time drone buyer, would the Avata 1 or 2 be better? I can purchase the avata 1 for a discount or avata 2 at regular price. I would be using it for recreational use.
    I hear that the avata 1 is stronger/ easier to repair is this true? This would be a huge buy point

    With all the faults with this drone, it’s still one of my favourites, it give me confidence to go through the tiniest of gaps, to see how close I could get to something and yes it has many battle scars and it still flys and if Avata 2 is an improvement on the first I will be ordering one.

    • @arklave
      @arklave 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would speculate that the original DJI FPV will not get a 2nd generation follow-up. As stated in the video, both of DJIs' FPV style drones are not true FPV and DJIs focus has always been on cinema. The Avata really seems to embody that philosophy more than the original FPV drone does.
      This time around, they are advertising the Avata 2 to be able to pull off flips/rolls/etc. It will definitely be more freestyle friendly, but DJI will never come out with a drone that will rival or surpass true FPV drones in flight characteristics. Their products will probably never appeal to, nor are they made for hardcore FPV pilots. They are always aimed at new or casual pilots trying to get into the hobby.

    • @CjArt78
      @CjArt78 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@mattalford3932 bullshit comment. If you're out there doing crazy ass Acro yeah you run the risk of breaking your drone. Even ones that you build you will break it but the difference is if you know what you're doing you can rebuild it. Getting tired of hearing this stupid talking points still going around. I like that they gave up on the DJI fpv. It will now become a collector's item and honestly I love flying it because it can do traditional drone stuff and regular fpv type stuff. Not to mention the price has come down a lot so I'll probably add one or two to my collection. I unlocked mine and I can fly wherever the hell I want and it flies great still.

    I have a DJI FPV and love it for ocean work as you can fly it flat out, do a 180 around a subject, and reverse fly it away from the subject. If it crashes, no matter what drone I was flying, they sink and are lost in the ocean, so I don't care other than the footage is meh. But what drone do you know can do that? Huge altitude and such. Viva le potatoes. I have 13-inch, 15-inch, 5, even 6,7,8, and 10s flywoo tiny drones, but I gotta say the potatoes. I love to hate the OG DJI fpv for Ocean. Oh, not to forget you can fly it backwards whilst maintaining a low altitude just above the water to make a wave look bigger when it's being surfed
    but the Avata I have one with 7 batteries, and it's a terrible thing. Even indoors, the sensors go crazy, and they are only underneath, and they try to fly upward and hit ceilings. It suites that motion controller. as a Christmas stuffer

    I agree. After seeing the specs, the Avata 3.5 is just about the same as the Avata 2 .. IMO. You will be paying over $800 for the drone + $600 for the goggles, + another $250 for the Motion 3 and Batteries!(just guessing) You're only getting a bit longer flight time and D-log, and did I say O4 and will not work with your current goggles and controllers... Humm.. I'm not sold. ... Let's buy more duplicate controllers. Buy a drone, get a contoller .. I need more controllers LOL!

    It’s kind of sad a multi billion dollar company can create awesome cameras and awesome electronics but they can’t make a good fpv drone. I mean there’s 100s of fpv drones they could copy out there. Or they could hire fpv pilots as consultants. I guess if you can sell camera drones for 1000s of dollars it doesn’t really matter. They could also make a shorter range vtx all in one flight controller that weighs about 25 grams that could be used on sub 250 fpv drones and whoops. I predict they eventually will but it will be like the Dji 06 air unit version. I like DJI but they are like Apple. They sell a little bit better product each year and charge a war price for it. Well (sorry for the rant) but all that being said the avata 2 appears to be getting closer in resemblance to a more traditional looking fpv drone. I know the fpv community isn’t their target audience. I hope they keep making the air units. If they get the weight down on them I think we can have some really nice sub250 fpv drones in the future.

I've try Avata1, and just use it about three month, because I'm often playing with fixed wing now, so avata1 dont match with my high altitude behavior ❤
