I've been saying this for YEARS, we need more appreciation for Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, his expressions and his voice are both hilarious and they make that entire scene
Chris Evans is capable of being funny when it comes to this type of comedy. Another example is him in Not Another Teen Movie. But Hollywood prefers giving him serious roles :/ Hopefully one day he can go back to this type of genre.
I would love to see an animated version of the comic with this cast voice acting the characters. I know that they kind of did that with Scott pilgrim takes off but I’m talking about a one to one adaptation of the source material.

Absolutely. I know it's intentional (Ramona is supposed to sound distant and uninterested) but man Chris Evans has unbelievably good voice acting. Reminds me of Gundham Tanaka from Danganronpa 2, same voice style.
I didn't get that vibe at all, everyone gave a fitting performance imo. the characters who suited a more dramatic "anime" like performance got that (like Lucas, Knives, and Roxxie), the characters who suited a more grounded performance got that (like Ramona, Scott, and Wallace), and the ones who needed just a slight exaggeration of their pre-existing performance got that (like Kim, Young Neil, and Julie)
Hard disagree. Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel easily sold his character the most for me. You could really feel how invested he was in coming across as an angry theater kid lol Chris was absolute fire too, didn't expect less from him.

I think they all really loved their roles. It’s very rare that you get the ENTIRE cast coming back more than once.
