  • I load up my simple shot slingshot and head out for some intense slingshot squirrel hunting action in the woods! Slingshots by Simple Shot: simple-shot.com?ref=woodedbeardsman
    Kevin's Channel: / @modernselfreliance
After, I come back to the cabin and cook up my fresh caught rare black squirrel in cast iron using apples, potatoes, olive oil, woodobo spices, and butter to make a delicious meal!
If you think hunting squirrels is easy, just because you see them in your backyard, you couldn't be more wrong. It takes a lot of skill to hunt squirrels, especially because woodsy squirrels are much more cagey and alert. You will have more luck hunting squirrels from a treestand as they seem not not look up as often as they alert when approaching from the ground.
I used regular steel ammo for hunting, but it's advised to use heavy lead as it will have much more knock down power.
It's better to use a 22 LR however, but if you're interested in a challenge, for sure try a slingshot for squirrels!

I've been fortunate in that where I squirrel hunt, they're everywhere. I barely even still hunt them when using a .22 or 12g, I just walk through the woods kicking up brush to see what runs then I follow until they decide to give me a shot or they lose me. I would have to be more patient if I wanted to use a slingshot or my blowgun.

@@rr8960 Certainly. Dad said he stopped at 6 squirrels because he figured that was enough.
Dad taught a retired old guy how to hunt sea gulls when Dad was about 60 yo. The guy was living in an old abandoned shed by my Dad's work and asked Dad for money. Dad said, "What do you need the money for?" The man said he was hungry. Dad said, "You don't have to go hungry with all these sea gulls around here." The man said, "I don't?" Dad said, "Why sure! Don't you know how to hunt!"
Dad taught him how to make a slingshot, how to shoot, how to skin it out, how to make a fire.
