My dad made a splitter just like this with a hydr valve from a beet-harvester and a leverage. And with "feet" against the ground when down. With "Attachment triangle". Bad thing is the log-lifting, good is the straight back when working. Fore sure, more oil, more Speed. With a 40l/min pump at idle it's powerful and fast :)

I was a bit worried with a large number of fake reviews but I am very pleased with the results. Bit of background, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxmKn8dCAXovWn8_cLYoosGLVrVrpwlIMc I need to split approximately 1.5 cords of wood and didn't feel like destroying my back. I purchased this anticipating to have a few issues splitting wood but have only come across a few logs of elm where the stringy nature of elm made it more difficult to split. Overall its not a necessarily fast process but it also isn't a very arduous one either. I came and went fairly often to do different tasks but once I stayed and got into a system I could easily split my pieces in a fairly timely manner.

Do you think that a teflon pad under the sliding part could work here ?
It would allow to work without grease,so no grease stains for you : )
Maybe. I don't have an issue with some grease, because it's a messy job anyway. Usually wet or snow and some tar from the trees etc.

I like the design and the ram size is good. I had to chuckle at the remote lever prototype. Thanks for posting. Can I suggest that when you are cutting, that you get in the habit of holding the grinder as if you were left handed. Once you get used to it, it's easier to be accurate, and you don't burn holes in your clothes.
The cutting scene was made just for this video - so that I am not standing in the way etc. But thanks for the suggestions, I have gone through some pants with grinders before...

you could always weld another piece of steel horizontally to the post to reduce the amount of cuts.
I was thinking the same! If you have a Cross (+) type knife, it can cut the log into 4x pieces in one step. Other log splitters use this type of know arrangement. So I would definitely copy it, to make the work faster :)

I think cone screw for splitting wood on a pto would work better. Hydraulic splitter works well but just looks very slow. But + blade would make it faster.
I don't have any experience with cone screw splitters. It's not so slow. It will be hard to keep up with it with all the transport of the wood in and out. I am definitely going to test it with + blade. In part 2 for example.

Cool, but You can make a wider, cone shape of the cutter (like fiskars axe) so that logs will break earlier and You will not have to use the whole length of the piston.
I can always test it with different cutters.

Поставить на треугольник и выносной распред на раму колуна.и работа веселее пойдет и бегать никуда не надо.ну и столик разделочный нужен что бы за каждым упавшим поленом не наклоняться.

Most probably I am going to use that tri angle type mount as I really love it for quick connects (one example: th-cam.com/video/607tg3GJNjk/w-d-xo.html ). I found the hydraulic ram from local tractor store a long time ago, it was quite affordable, would love to have a longer one (1m at least) but that was the longest they had. Greetings to Ireland!

To low to the ground needs legs Needs auto return, Other than that it looks good bit on the slow side have to put the log on then go to the hydraulic lever that is time consuming

Короче чувак с моего дровокола срисовал)))) я таким давно колю дровишки. Строили с племяшом без интернета. Колит у меня на 6 частей. Тавру в одну загибается от хорошего комля ,переделали на две сваренные двутавры . и привод сделали отВОМ : редуктор с советского погрузчика на два насоса, а так один в один мой дровокол показали))))))

Ei oska öelda, suurt midagi. Kunagi oli ütlemine, et diisel võtab tühikäigul umbes sama palju kütust ööpäevas, kui palju kulub 100km läbimiseks.

Да колющий нож надо было делать сразу под раскол на четыре части да и по солярке дорого если в малых частях вести раскол то зачёт

What a great device/job - just looking at some of the joint solution - are you a trained fabricator or just clever at this stuff ?? Then I realised you did all this whilst standing on a frozen block of ice - my god you guys are tough. thanks for the video I'm going to build one for my belarus 750(I assume that is a 900) very nice job.
It's a culmination of suffering for years of splitting wood and thinking how it should and could be. Not ideal but good for the first try.
@@hrz4x4 It probably the best tractor splitter I;ve seen very very nice - one question have you upgraded the hydraulic pump on this machine or is it a stock belarus MTZ pump.

Все хорошо , только работает медленно и если день трактор будет молотить , это дорого обойдется...

Фигня все мужики про дорого, дорого кольщик нанимать, котят как попало еще и бухнуть могут, а за день не всегда и справляются с 4мя клубами, а таким дроваколом лесовозную телегу а там примерно 6-7 кубов в двоем за 4 часа с перекурами легко справляется, по цене на солярий то на то и выходит ток сам делаешь как надо, и без нерва на алкашей.
То МТЗ ? Що за колеса і диски ? 👍
