Thank you so much. My best friend just got a new camper and we had a heck of a time lighting that pilot. I would never have thought about where the pilot was. Thank you again
Thank you. This was really helpful to understand what to do. Now, what do you suggest if the pilot didn't light? I've checked the stove burners and they do light so I know there is gas.
MY HEROES!!!! OH, thank you so much. I'm a girl, I bought my first pop up and it's incredibly old and I couldn't figure this out. You're the best! I did it.
Thanks so much for the video! I know that I am really late in the game here but I had a couple questions, First, is the water supposed to be coming out of that blue handle with what looks like a water spicket attached when I lift it up, I wouldn't think so. Second, I don't have the box you use to push down the first button, mine is inside over the oven on a panel but it won't light. I'm worried it has something to do with the water that comes out. Yes, I'm a newbie and a bit nervous. Thanks so much for your reply.
I live in An Rv one of the new Wolf pup. My neighbor bang on my door this morning asking me about how to light his water heater mine has an auto Lite heater So I never had to light a water heater. We mess with it for a good 3 hours and couldn't find it. Finally after watching this video He will be able to take a nice hot shower tonight. Thank you so much.
I have a 10gal suburban.. no button to push down and hold etc all I see is a black switch for on/off .. how do I light my gas we been using Electric only plugged into shore pole
My suburban pilot light wont light, I used a new lighter till it ran out of fuel, but the pilot light would not light. It lit fine last season and has a full gas bottle. HELP PLEASE.
Why does my new hot water heater piolet not stay lit has done this ever since I bought it tired of lighting it every time I need a shower I live in jackson hole Wyoming it it a high altitude problem going nuts
Hello so this is my Fristed time camping and the gas hot water was working fine then we was the camper and it ran out of gas so we replaced both tanks of gas is there any way us washing it could have not making it light.
Thank you so much for this video. My water heater is like the first one my Park Model is a 1999 and I am always so nervous lighting that thing not to mention the prolonged squatting down. But I got it and I now have hot water thank you I can shower🎉😊
I have a 1986 aljo travel trailer and the dial to change from off, pilot and on has been working fine. but today I went in to turn it off so I can take the propane container to uhaul for a refill and the knob won't turn. It's stuck on ON and won't move or budge. do you have any advice as to what I could do? I have no hot water and would like to avoid a freezing shower :p
I have the first one and I press pilot , pilot light turns on I release pilot and turn to on and that's it, pilot light stays on and that's it. I never get the big flames . What could it be ??
I bought an RV that I only thought needed Tender Loving Care.. Well..I have fixed more than what I thought and gone through my money fast..lol.. Anyways,, I needed to learn how to or even figure out if the Hot water tank even worked. So I called my Brother.. I think you gave me the right instructions.. He failed to tell me how to light it.. Hahaha.. Anyways.. I am going to subscribing to your site..
When I light the pilot I hold down the black button for 30 seconds but it never stays lit? I have 2 full tanks of propane ? Does adjusting the pilot flame on the adjusting screw help any?
Mark Pacheco , Depends if your flame burns good or not when you hold down button. If it doesn't look like it is burning as good as you'd like to see try to get a burn tube clean and clean the burner tube and blow out that area to make sure it is clear of cob webs and such. If it is burning fine when held down then you should look into getting a pilot assembly for your model water heater. That should fix your problem, if it doesn't then you have a gas valve problem. I'd try cleaning first, then pilot assembly and if that doesn't do it, look into gas valve. I think you should have it fixed by step two. I'd suggest having someone help you with gas/furnace/water heater background. I can not tell you how to do each step in detail because of liability purposes, i am not liable for any mishap. Hope i was some help to get you and a professional to get started on getting you back on the road RVing this summer. Thank You for the question. www.tricityrv.com/RVService.aspx
I have the water heater you showed at the end of the video. On mine I also have a black box with an on and off switch. Can you tell me what that switch is for please? Thank you.
Your water heater can heat with electricity as well as propane. The switch is to turn on or off the electric heating. The black cover protects the wiring going into your electral heating element.
if my pressure relief valve drips all the time even when the heater is off ( not lite) does that mean the relief valve is bad , just bought a used camper and that's what it's doing .
please help. I have that same water heater, but when I try to light the pilot. the gas builds up and ignites in the main burner tube. I have no idea how to fix it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks
Gage, You have some type of obstruction in your burner tube or orifice area. It could be a spider web or some other piece of debris, spiders tend to use this area for a home. I can't tell you how to fix it for liability purposes, all i can tell you i try to contact your nearest certified RV repair shop. When you start trying to tear LP gas systems apart, it becomes risky business for you and your family. (Not something i'd do yourself) Thanks for checking out our video, hope i was at least some help to you. Tri City RV www.tricityrv.com/RVService.aspx
@@TriCityRV im currently in the same situation. ive taken apart that tube and cleaned it completely out. when i hold down the pilot and i have a lighter at the end of the tube and makes a pop noise as it lights but the only place that will be lit will be all the way back in the main burner tube just where the propane meets the air in the opening.
@@TriCityRV nvm i was watching someone elses vid on these heaters and noticed the pilot and main lines were switched (i got the trailer used). switched them to the correct orientation and the heater is currently heating the water. great vid
This unit doesn't take up a lot of room under my kitchen sink. I love that I have instant hot water when ever I want! Has enough capacity for my dishwasher also.
It will until the water gets up to the proper temp you have it set for. After that, the pilot light will remain burning until you use hot water again. Then it will re-fire up until the water temp is back up to set point.
Mine doesn't look like this, don't have that knob. No temperature know either. I do have the pop off, thats it. Guess I have to dig deeper. No hot water for days now. Nobody to help me.
