  • Vaccines have gone from experimental cures to saving more than 4 million lives around the world every year. Even in times of a global pandemic, it appears vaccines have met their match - hesitation. So why, at a time of such great need, has faith in vaccines fallen so low?

    I mean i get the concerns about all the side effects that may occur. But we live in the era where strict regulations are being put on almost anything. And lot's of that regulations are put from first-hand experience or preventive action. Simply put, almost anything that have been made today & may have substantial effect (including vaccines) is made thoroughly and carefully to make sure it works as best as possible.

      @@Zethyzingerrooo I understand the concern because it does feel like theyve developed this vaccine very quickly, but upon further research into inflammation of the heart in young boys, it seems the number of reported cases of this is no different to the number of cases reported in the general population. However, as someone with health anxiety, I understand how scary it is putting something in your body when side effects can occur, to remain confident I remind myself that the effects of covid would be far worse than any official effect of the vaccine. I am willing to get the vaccine to protect others and myself.

I’m retired now but I do remember that huge frightening IRON LUNG ! So many times I thought that I would rather die than to live like that for the rest of my life ! The gentleman in it was a 46 year old very kind man but he still wanted to live even though all he could do was lay in the iron lung with his head sticking out and watch the ceiling ! It was dreadful ! My cousin had a boyfriend and he had been a victim of polio as a child but I met him when we were 17 and 18 years old ! His right lower arm and leg had been affected so he wore a leg brace but his lower right arm had become contracted and his right hand was in a fist and drooped from the wrist ! He eventually killed him self ! 😔😔😔😔😔😢😢😢😢😢

Would they refuse treatment for MS if that disease was in their future? It seems to me it takes a sort of willful blindness and a degree of selfishness to wish something like COVID on people and herd immunity that would mean the end of life for so many.

    If the government required companies to provide liability and be open to claims there would be far less hesitancy. But to offer only £120,000 government-backed payment for a life-changing injury is an insult and the 70% uptake will never be reached. Then there also needs to be an open discussion about and including those, suffering adverse reactions, as they are small in number in the grand scheme of things. With scrutiny of other illnesses that have suddenly emerged within the wider population, which are themselves virus-based and could be linked to vaccination. Viral meningitis, Polio, Monkey Pox, as well as the longer-term effects of myocarditis and heart and DVT issues. Social media is responsible for hesitancy, not because of misinformation, but rather censorship and cover-up cancelling! Deal with these and the hesitancy has a chance of being overcome. . . Gov't there worked mainly to teach people to save national Medicare from going bankrupt or burning out & or infecting health care workers.
      Before vax came along, it meant convincing folks to mask up and isolate. Later, there was still vax hesitation because so many Brits follow US news & social media. But., in the end, compliance rates were higher sooner.

    Of course I’m super nervous about getting it. I don’t know whats in this thing and I’m putting it into my body. I don’t know if I might be allergic to any of it’s ingredients and I don’t know how I will react to it. I’m a young, healthy girl who hasn’t been infected by covid yet (i think?) and I honestly think that I would be completely fine without it. It’s my friends and family that I’m worried about, and even though most of my family is vaccinated, it still doesn’t completely eliminate the chance of being infected. If I get the vaccine, I know that I will reduce the chance of them getting infected even more.
    So even though I don’t need it, others need me to get it for their sake

    • @Kenhraim
      @Kenhraim 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I share your feelings, I still took the vaccine recently. The vaccine also protects you from potential mutations and the most important thing about it is to actually prevent you from going to the hospital (after catching covid) and getting really sick.
      Also conspiracy theorist are really crazy, by their logic. Why would the government want to harm the people who are "obedient" and take the vaccine.

      Have you considered looking up whats inside of the vaccine? Knowledge is power, and you can figure it out with research. How do you know that your specific vaccine has what they say it does in it? The amazing thing about science, is that you can figure it out from the ground up. The only limitation is how much you really care.

    • @CATsissta
      @CATsissta 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LammySammy I’ve considered it but part of me doesn’t want to. I’m not a chemist, I don’t know how chemical A would react to chemical B. Sodium is highly reactive and can cause explosions, and chloride is a deadly gas that can cause severe respiratory issues. However, put the two together, they make sodium chloride which is salt. The point is that since I don’t know how certain chemicals may react to each other, it’s best not to scare myself into thinking they’re injecting pure mercury into my blood. Mercury may be reacting to another chemical to produce something else, something completely harmless.
      Knowledge is power, but ignorance is bliss :)

    I'm not against vaccines, I'm just not sure about a new vaccine that hasn't had time to see about long term effects. If covid had a 10% mortality or 25% I would just take it. If it is less than 1% I'm going to wait until more information is available. I feel as if I'm being prudent. If small pox makes a come back i would take that vaccine in a second.

    • @AmbientMorality
      @AmbientMorality 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      i don't see how it would have long term effects? it's been 6 months and proteins last in the body for a month or so. there's no plausible way that new long term effects show up. like i can see incredibly rare reactions as a concern (astrazeneca blood clotting issues came up there) but the vaccine has been deployed so broadly at this point..

    • @dustanddeath3985
      @dustanddeath3985 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      mRNA vaccines had already been around for a decade (and for very similar diseases, no less), they just processed the covid-19 proteins through it. There are virtually no long-term effects from the vaccine, whereas there are a shitload of grave long-term effects from getting covid without any vaccine protection. Your doubts are based on lies, misinformation, and woo - and your doubts have been proved wrong.
