This lecture just reassured my schizophrenia diagnosis is on point.
Psychosis IS NOT losing the ability to know what is reality and what is delusion. I can separate things I THINK, & my web of THEORIES I construct, to what I know are solid grounded facts of reality.
I can almost always distinguish "outside" auditory hallucinations from, say, a real person saying something in another room.
The most heart breaking part of it, is KNOWING what you are VIVIDLY experiencing is not "real"
Sometimes I think I can hear someone talking in the other room but I go check and whoever is there didn't say anything. Sometimes it happens quite a bit like as if I hear them having a full conversation with someone but I check and they're quiet.

Schizophrenia seems to be very aggressive and it is so sad to know how our treatment resources are still very limited for this disorder

I'm one of the very few people who have Schizophrenia, that can manage without medication. It took a very long time just to understand that what I experience, is not always the real case. Perception is not reality, I depend on other people's reactions and behaviours to help me see what is happening and what I can see happening. Its a fucker at times. But I am very fortunate in that way

Brief psychotic disorder pls
As someone who suffered from schizophrenia, I can tell you that when I experienced perseveration speech, it was like my brain was trying to get to the next word but my speech was hung up on and repeating the previous word. So I have to disagree about perseveration speech lacking purpose. Great video though 👍
Keep in mind that the information he puts out is in reference to the masses. It may not be the same for you but the majority it may.
Do you have a video or book about prescribing psych meds with common medical disorders and drugs? It gets a little tough at that point.
Doctors are very ignorant.... don't trust them... medical treatment is not the way... look to spirituality... it has all the answers...
I was also told that if i follow the delusions or believe they're real that they become more difficult do deal with.
Risperidone helps me a lot when it comes to my schizophrenia.
I've been on resperidone for a while and it seems to have pushed a part of my consciousness
I'm on that now too, ability gave me akathesia (a movement disorder where I can't sit or stand still, its very frustrating and embarrassing.)

"Schizophrenia" is a vague term that simply means "chronic psychosis".
On a certain level, we have a drug store in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the brain can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the brain can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.

My adult son tells me people are "3D gaming with his mind" using an Oculus. He never played video games so I'm not sure where the idea came from. When he first heard voices, he pulled up the floor boards in his house thinking someone planted speakers there. I'm desperate to get him help. Abilify injections did not help. He doesn't just hear voices, he has full conversations with them and tells them where we're going, etc. He sometimes calls the FBI, Donald Trump stole his debit card, Hillary CLINTON got him out of jail, and Adele wants to date him. He tells me he's the famous boy from Daytona Beach. How does this happen?
Some children have creative thinking. But schizophrenia can also be seen in children. It's rare so to be certain ,do visit psychiatrist or psychologist as soon as you can.

@@kanwalraja466 after 6 months of incarceration for a probation violation, he is back home. Monday evening he was hit by a truck in Port Orange, Florida which left him with some facial bone fractures. I'm blessed he's alive, but he struggles daily and spends most of his time walking and walking and walking. He refuses medication, and will soon be reincarnated for not taking it.

How do I understand what's in the ingredients to psychiatric medication? It's not like looking at the "label" and "nutrition" in food at the grocery store. Or say, it's FDA approved. How do I know that the ingredients in my psychiatric medication is KOSHER, VEGAN, or in general, "healthy"? Is it toxic? Is it poisonous? I worked at a company that use to put damaged liquids from Ensure in hazardous materials to be sent off. Is my medication, after this, mean it's most likely dangerous?
Psychiatric drugs are neurotoxins that destroy brain cells and all cells in the body. It destroys people from the inside out.

Some of these symptoms are common and everybody.
First one hearing voices most people have what is called the conscience so people think of things in their head.
That doesn't necessarily make him schizophrenic and putting people in categories makes them feel like they're less in control of themselves
That's absolutely correct! Experiences like hearing voices are common, even in people who don't have schizophrenia. That's why no one of these symptoms on their own are instantly diagnostic of a disorder. Rather, you need to look at the entire picture, including not only specific symptoms but also whether there is clear evidence of dysfunction.
My 15 yr old is in a the hospital with schizophrenia I don't know what to do? Or what is going to happen?
I have a daughter with this illness. I strongly suggest to file for guardianship before he turns 18 years old because otherwise the whole system are going to use his age as an excuse not to give him the treatment that he owned to have. Be ready to put on your viking hat, shield and spear to fight for yours and your son well being. He deserves it bc this is not his fault.

They are characteristics that are present in normal people and the negative symptom is the lack of those characteristics in people with schizophrenia

@@rizwana5676 "Negative" simply means without. The a in Asociality means without. So Asociality would be without sociality.
A-logia is without logia or language
A-pathy (páthos) is without experience, misfortune, emotion
These negative symptoms describe a lack of characteristics such as sociality, language, and emotion, which are present in normal people but not present or weakly present in schizophrenics. This is why they are called negative symptoms, because these symptoms are a lack of these normal behaviors. Watch the video again, they state that it is the characteristics which are present in normal people, not the symptoms.

The voices that a schizophrenic hear are distinguishable from their own inner monologue. As if there is a disembodied person speaking to them in a negative tone. For some strange reason...5 of my childhood friends suffer from schizophrenia. One described it as six different men bullying him at all times. A doctor by the name of Dr. Terrence Palmer is doing amazing work and seemingly curing people of this incurable affliction. But his methods are frowned upon by the scientific community. I think that science needs to expand the parameters of its method to combat this particular disease. Just my opinion.
My boyfriend gets the running monologue kind (which sounds conversational). He luckily hasn't experience the command/negative voices yet, so hoping it doesn't change into that for him as the years progress. Hugs to everyone out there suffering from schizophrenia or psychosis from any other co-morbid condition.

He's affiliated with the Royal ...whatever the britainnia psychological association is called and all other groups that make him a credible psychologist. He has taken his methods to his "esteemed" Peers, but they will have nothing to do with it. So he teaches his method online for anyone who wishes to learn it effectively it. He hypnotizes the subject and speeks to the "voice directly". He works under the impression that these voice truly are disembodied voices. Not of the subjects mind. He uses a powerful medium to conduct these sessions and asks the "voice" all the questions needed to gain assesment of why this is happening. While doing this, we have learned many things. He is under the impression that these are cases of possession. Spiritual, inter and extrdimensional and more. And he works with the entity, which may be one or more of many types of entities and attempts to get them to leave the subject. And within minutes of completion of said session. The subject is no longer afflicted. Some entities are more resistant than others. Some times it isn't a disembodied entity, but a thought form or artificial elemental. If you read any Rudolph Steiner, you can learn about this concept. Regardless of what science may tell us. There are things that exist beyond our spectrum of observance. Beyond our spectrum of observable light, sound and general frequency. And they attach and feed off of us, as we feed off of cows and plants. Many feed off of a substance we produce called "loosh". In essence, he is approaching a "Hocus pocus" subject, empirically!! And he is getting results no matter what the status quo has to say about it. It deserves a deeper look by open- minded, professional practitioners. I have a BS in psych, but I am, by no means, a credible source or practitioner. But I haven't stopped studying since college. I am also educated in matters of the occult, and let me tell you...it's real. Like most information of Truth...of real truth. Actuality as opposed to reality! His video sessions are NOT sexy or entertaining. It's boring and tedious and long. But fascinating nonetheless. I hope you see the same value within it that I see. Science will make leaps and bounds when it begins to do as it is supposed to do, and study all things objectively. Instead of subjecting new findings to already pre- established and agreed upon models and notions. Science tends to put new findings in this box and if it doesn't fit, they don't acknowledge it. Until someone frames the work in a way that it can no longer be denied. By the time science changes it's opinion collectively...100 years has past. We have to do better, we can do better. And the "controllers" of information need to make a better effort so our species can further evolve. I hope you find it valuable. It's easy to find people who think that what they do t understand is garbage. Hard to find those who will take some time to understand. Or innerstand..... Onward!

My philosophy is straight edge. That means that I don't like drugs. Some people mistake illegal and recreational drugs (like alcohol and cigarettes) as medicine. They are not! Being drunk and stoned is what causes psychosis. Cannabis during their adolescent years causes schizophrenia. Some things you need to explain in plain English
