'Greed' was an international cash prize game show which applied similar gameplay conventions to that of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'. Adapted from Fox's original American series, the UK version was hosted by Jerry Springer and had a £1 Million jackpot. It aired on Channel 5 from May 18th to June 9th 2001, ending after just 11 episodes.
To my knowledge the UK series has never been repeated. After sifting through various websites, I managed to locate TWO clips which I have uploaded here for entertainment purposes only; I do not intend any infringement of copyright by doing so.
This particular clip is of a short-lived team from Episode 2.

This was my favorite gameshow as an American! I'd love to see a full episode of yours too!

Oh wow, this is so much more awkward than ours. lol

The American version aired on Fox from November 1999 to July 2000, and was hosted by Chuck Woolery. For a lot of the run, the top prize was US$2,000,000. For a brief part of the run, it became "Super Greed" in an effort to boost ratings, and for that time the top prize was US$4,000,000. The top prize was never won, although during "Super Greed", the team once left with US$2,000,000, one step down from the top prize.

I knew the question they got wrong right away as soon as it appeared. I knew it would have been Oscar Hammerstein II, because some of the musicals he wrote with Richard Rodgers were adapted into films, two of which won the Oscar for Best Original Song. As for Oscar Peterson, he was better known as a jazz pianist, so the award he would have been more likely to get was a Grammy Award.

I like how on the foreign versions they also show the person's total who's the furthest away, they never do this on the US version unless it's a 2 way tie.

I wouldnt think this show would be a Greed show because of how vastly different and unfitting it is than the American version. The music and set here seem too laid back versus the intensity of the American version

£1,000,000 GBP in 2001 is equal to $1,439,600 USD. UK GDP per capita in 2001 is $27,744.51 and $1,439,600 is about 51.89 times the GBP per capita. $2,000,000 USD in 1999 is equal to £1,232,666 GBP. US GDP per capita in 1999 is $34,513.56 and $2,000,000 is about 57.95 times the GDP per capita. £1M is certainly smaller than $2M but it is quite a decent amount in the United Kingdom.

I'd rather not say, so that I don't spoil it for anyone who may watch it. I recommend you watch it; it's really good. He was on the second UK season, however the second season does give some spoilers regarding the first season, so you should watch both ;) (and the Australian ones while you're at it). I can say you see alot more of him there than you do here.

Alright. In our version the top prize was 1 000 000 marks and when euro was taken in use it was 170 000 euros.

The set from the Chuck Woolery version looks SO MUCH better than the set used in this and the other international versions. In fact the format and sounds from the American version is way better than the international versions. If Fox ever reboots Greed I would love to them to get Jerry Springer to host and use the same set, format, and sounds.

A piss easy question for £10k: Cumbria bordering Scotland
The next question: nobody has a clue and they lose everything
I swear, every show following WWTBAM was sure that the way to overthrow it was to just be unfair and unforgiving and more brutal against contestants. As if WWTBAM'S rules allowing to walk away at any point were a stupid mistake that would get it cancelled as soon as some sexy new show that barely gives out money comes along and shows off how impossible it is

One game of 'The Mole' with a single batch of contestants runs for an entire season. Both UK seasons (along with many others) are available in their entirety on TH-cam. This is the first part of the premiere of season 2: /watch?v=u0sv_7FAbb8
