@@isaacshively6705 to be honest im not really sure just yet. Im still learning myself. Im mainly a rock crawling shop. I will say I have a Redcat Lightning Drift car. Its $170 and really its a decent car. Tons of adjustment. The MST FXX is a decent one as well. I plan to get myself one of those. Look me up on FB, Dixieland R/C and we can chat some more.
For the guys who want to start Rc drifting. Most people start with 4wd drift then to to rwd. But you can skip that and go straight to rwd but it'll be a little harder to get the feeling right. You also don't need an expensive, fully upgraded chassis like the red galm in the vid. I always recommend the stock yd2 from yokomo because you can pretty much adjust everything and it will kick ass.
Ha, got you beat, my 1979 Rough Rider is sitting on my shelf above my desk hahaha. I've got a few TL-01 chassis and a couple of nitro. I bought some TL-01 as shelf queens as I liked the body and like putting em together more than running them. I've got an 80's 959 Porsche that, if I hadn't put it together, would be worth thousands NIB. Dumbass that I am I built it hehehe
@@muskokamike127 Those are all awesome. And if you ran the 959 building it was still worth it. I have a Clodbuster in a million pieces across 3 boxes but I did just find my quick charger for those old stick packs, so progress is being made.

@@Ayushmandas They could easily do that. We do it already in RC racing at LiveRC . com where all the big venues stream their events and a lot of smaller tracks do the same. You even get the live race stats and everything. All they would need to do is set up a camera stream and have an account there at LiveRC and rep it.

@@rotten2209 you don't have to jump in and buy the best parts straight away, you can always upgrade when you feel you want to. There's a huge selection of different manufacturers at different price ranges to suit everyone's budget. Personally, I have 2 RWD RCs, one is an older chassis that I've modified and upgraded over the years and the other was a "full option" RWD car out of the box, which has also had quite a few upgrades done. Neither car would be competitive at the world championships, but i can enter local track competitons or even nationals and have fun doing it! All you need is a car that can keep up with the people you're driving with, find a local track, follow their facebook page and ask questions about what they recommend at your price range.
Dope to see y’all finally getting into this hobby. I used to mess around with rC’s as a young teenager. Once COVID hit, over a decade later, I jumped back into it and don’t regret it. I forgot how fun it is especially when you have different cars and setups for different things. I have bashers like the granite blx, “trophy trucks” like slashes, rally cars and now I’m looking for a nitro/gas 1/5-1/8 scale for full road use (possibly a rally car) lol
I'd recommend buying the mst rmx 2.0 rtr drift car it's ready to run and u can find them online or go to a rc store or other stores that have it but its rwd so it takes more practice
I had a Pawlak drift mustang setup by hpi back in like 2012-13...one of the greatest gifts I've ever received from my mom. Wore the wheels out in like a month. Took it apart with plans to upgrade...never got back to it..eventually got thrown away🤦🏽♂️🤕. 25 now, damn the nostalgia this video brought me. Think I'll get back into this hobby
Give them a chance to get on their feet and I bet daily transmission makes a come back, its only been slacking because of lock downs and it being hard to make content because they couldn't shred in long beach any more

I'm into the rc drift hobby (haven't gone to any shows or events)but I do have the flying fish awd it's about 250 and it rips it's the only awd rc car that comes thru with the claim as an AWD drift car and is exactly that. Worth it.
They shit on the RTR but thats just a goof. Get you a Traxxas or any other hobby grade RTR made for drift and you'll have a great time with an upgradable platform.
This was a TERRIBLE video for the RC community. They only boasted on their expensive chassis that dont get used and practically trashed anyone who doesnt wanna turn their RC into a 7lbs(and $3000) paper weight.

Never thought I'd see a title like this from you guys LOL! I used to drift RC and provide people with tutorials on how to do it on the smaller scale cars radioshack made called "Xmods." Glad to see people still enjoying RC drift these days! I have even seen them be RWD with crazy weight balance and tech for full counter steer drift too!

@@FOXeye95 i got my traxxas for 200 bucks, it came all wheel drive, i took out the front drive shaft, got an angle kit for 40 bucks, and some 50 dollar drift wheels. Done. Its actually really cheap to get into. You dont need brushless motors and high end parts to drift.
Cool to see Hert has an MST chassis. Those are SUPER solid options. The Overdose stuff is really nice, but it's kind of like hypebeast stuff for RC drift IMO.
I just got my first rc drift car delivered yesterday. I got a carbon htx rwd with a sc300 body and some GANGSTER ass Johnnies. Brushless 540 motor, lipo battery, gyro, and a dumbo transmitter. Its kindof budget aside from the chassis but im gonna build it after work today and give 'er. Cannot wait. Cannot drive my actual drift car because i broke my ulna and radius guinea pigging a giant new step down we built in the hills. 130 feet long and like a 40 foot step down landing on the side of a big ass hill. Clicked my rear brake in the air and my bike stalled. Yes of course i pulled my clutch in. Landed and went straight over the bars. I hit it 3rd pinned on my 2020 yz450.
A few tips from someone who's spent thousands on this hobby: 1. Do your research! Do your research! a. You absolutely can spend hundreds of dollars on the wrong things that will make your experience in the hobby much much worse instead of better. 2. Stay away from ready to run cars like HPI's for example. a. If you start off with the wrong chassis and try and make it work you'll just end up buying a different chassis later down the line out of frustration, and be more in the hole than you would have been if you just bought the correct platform to begin with. 3. Spend the time painting your body. a. You only get one chance. Might as well spend the time and paint the body properly. Regular paint does not work. It will flake off. Lexan Paint is absolutely required. b. Don't forget to paint the body lines. All Cars have gaps in the panels. Outlining these gaps with a black marker Is the difference between your car looking fake and it looking totally legit. Alot of guys forget this step and their cars just don't look right.

i was pretty much addicted to rc drifting, had 3 overdose chassis fully built out, spent around $20,000 on the sport. Then sold it all, then bought back into it all again, then sold it all due to lack of use and no clubs where I lived. Just know that RC drifting is very addictive and expensive when you start competing - had a full carbon purple titanium overdose that was limited edition
My buddy got into the rc drift then switched to rc rock climbers.. those damn rc's are crazy.. has actual locking diffs, auto deflating and filling weighted tires, you can actually install the tiny spider gears to run different ratios, they got transmissions that you actually shift with clutch plates , 4 link bracing and chassis that are just scale chassis, bodies that come in panels.. only shit that they havent really done up are the scale motors.. when you build a 1/10 8 cyl motor they get up in the 10, 20k$ quick... but the physics of the whole chassis and weight ratios taking em up rock faces is legit.. crazy to watch a little rc car fall off a rock and literally break axles and bend up body panels...

the rtr is a MST of some variety i think they said....which is a good brand for drift cars. i have a old mst ms01 d, good chassis very upgradeable.

a. You absolutely can spend hundreds of dollars on the wrong things that will make your experience in the hobby much much worse instead of better.
2. Stay away from ready to run cars like HPI's for example.
a. If you start off with the wrong chassis and try and make it work you'll just end up buying a different chassis later down the line out of frustration, and be more in the hole than you would have been if you just bought the correct platform to begin with.
3. Spend the time painting your body.
a. You only get one chance. Might as well spend the time and paint the body properly. Regular paint does not work. It will flake off. Lexan Paint is absolutely required.
b. Don't forget to paint the body lines. All Cars have gaps in the panels. Outlining these gaps with a black marker Is the difference between your car looking fake and it looking totally legit. Alot of guys forget this step and their cars just don't look right.

i was pretty much addicted to rc drifting, had 3 overdose chassis fully built out, spent around $20,000 on the sport. Then sold it all, then bought back into it all again, then sold it all due to lack of use and no clubs where I lived. Just know that RC drifting is very addictive and expensive when you start competing - had a full carbon purple titanium overdose that was limited edition

My buddy got into the rc drift then switched to rc rock climbers.. those damn rc's are crazy.. has actual locking diffs, auto deflating and filling weighted tires, you can actually install the tiny spider gears to run different ratios, they got transmissions that you actually shift with clutch plates , 4 link bracing and chassis that are just scale chassis, bodies that come in panels.. only shit that they havent really done up are the scale motors.. when you build a 1/10 8 cyl motor they get up in the 10, 20k$ quick... but the physics of the whole chassis and weight ratios taking em up rock faces is legit.. crazy to watch a little rc car fall off a rock and literally break axles and bend up body panels...
