I Bought Two Trashed Cadillac CTS-V From Salvage Auction

- The Cadillac CTS-V is a great sports sedan. The foundation being the formidable 6.2L Supercharged LSA V8 engine. With plenty of power potential and huge aftermarket support, the LSA engine is a favorite among hot rodders as well.
Unfortunately, this popularity for the engine and the other parts from the Cadillac CTS-V make them very difficult to buy from salvage auction. The Cadillac CTS-V is a popular choice for thieves and owners that simply want to keep parts before insurance takes the car. Both of these Cadillac CTS-V were incredibly cheap. Hopefully they have all the parts we are hoping they have!
#chevrolet #cadillac #v8
This is why I would do terrible in this business, I would of fixed both of these.
I agree
The only thing better would be 2 ctsv wagons
Owch
The black one looked in the best condition at least that one could of got brought back to life
They can make more money parting them out.
Thanks for keeping in the crushing part of the video. I love to watch the cars get crushed. It has always fascinated me. Thanks!
Freak
Thanks for reminding me to never bid on complete wrecks! If I can't drive it home, I'm not a player! Great video.
I was thinking the Coupe doors are worth some money but if you guys are junking it, i learned something new lol
I was thinking the same thing. Unlike the Camaro where there were a lot of V6 versions so body parts are easy to get, I don’t think there were a lot of CTS coupes period. I would have thought the doors and trunk lids had some value or will in the future.
@@cheapme1850at least here in California CTS coupe are insanely common I see at least 3 a day
@@psycogamer500 where i live you dont see any cameros, or any cts/cts-v. althought you do see alot of dts's
Doors are kinda $700 each with trunk lid being anywhere between $250 and $500. This is about $3000 sent to junk, but once again - those might be extremely unpopular and won't even sell.
@@MaxZuks they cost a ton to ship and are on the large side and would take up a bunch of their storage space, from what they have said in past videos storage space always runs kinda low there. I always questioned the amount of good glass they toss but its kinda a pain to get anything other than regular side windows out without breaking it and its a pain to store it safely too. I also personally would try to pick the cars absolutely clean, but these guys have been doing this for a while and probably know what will and won't sell quick enough to keep them from having to buy a warehouse. Must be doing something right since they can afford all of these project cars.
Damn that black one was fixable ngl
In 2013 I visited America and asked for a Cadillac hire car. My Dad owned a Cadillac back in Europe, so I thought it would be nice.
The car I was lent was gorgeous. A CTS in Black with very low miles. I loved it!
Surprised it lasted. The Value 3.6 was very well known for oil consumption.
@@ABRetroCollections It looked fantastic in 2013.
As always great content IMHO. It's interesting how much different the perspectives are between a wrecker who sees these types of cars and engine or drive trains often and knows it's very likely he'll see them again compared to a regular slob like myself who loves cars but isn't in the industry anymore.. Even when I was in the car world I sold them not built or tore them down etc. I would have been totally planning to build one awesome car out of the two then sell off whatever I didn't think I'd need in the future. I've wanted a "V" for years and to get two one which I think was the 600HP version and one that is a manual (Maybe both were from the higher HP years I'm not sure). I would have been over the moon LOL. Oh well.
I cried when they crushed them 😢
What 😂
Did you miss the part where they were already crushed from the accidents?
@@joemother1098Not to the point where they couldn’t have been fixed.
Easy fix wow
@@joemother1098 go back and pay attention please. the most amount of damage is nearly identical. no damage on the doors. besides probably dings and scratches,
Found a Caddy 06-09 NOS M -122 Supercharger (700 bucks NOS) and had it matted to an 02 LQ4 with a 4L80. It was then stuffed into a 92 GMC 1500 shorty.
Fun on the cheap.
I always like these cars the design and everything
Me too. This is my favorite generation Cadillac CTS-V. I'm glad it came in different variations from a coupe, sedan, and wagon.
my question is. dalt. what do you guys do with the tires that are still usable on bent/warped rims? do you toss them or sell them or keep them for personal use ;) *burnouts*
Parts like fenders, trunks, door and door panels aren’t worth anything?
not worth their time, I regular people like us could buy cars like these. Would totally fix it
Too many base model versions with the same body panels out there, these guys are more of a specialty shop for the more hard to find and valuable parts, most of the body parts are too big and relatively inexpensive to justify taking up storage space. Warehouse space isn't cheap and a large part that isnt super valuable is just taking up space they could use for smaller pricier parts. These guys have been doing this for quite a while and have a very good idea what is and isn't worth saving. They have explained this more than once on videos.
@@Greg1096considering they own the shop wouldn’t hurt to keep them and make a couple bucks off em instead of throwing them out and never seeing a dollar off them
@@juniortorres310 they have said in multiple videos that the parts they leave on the cars are left because they arent worth their time or limited amount of storage, their warehouse area is pretty small, and with a car like these CTS-V's they only keep the parts that are able to be sold quickly, the interior door panels and other parts are used in multiple different models and are found easily and cheaply at a local scrap yard, these guys only keep the high value or easily sold parts, if they kept every usable piece from every car that comes through their shop the shop would turn into a junkyard in no time, they obviously know what they are talking about since they can afford to build all of these personal cars for themselves
I noticed you didn’t save the doors or trunk and I am assuming it’s because they would take up too much space in the warehouse.
Man I really want to own one of these some day. Seeing these wrecked ones makes me think i can fix them up knowing damn well I don't have the knowledge to haha
Go for it. GM parts are really everywhere, and don’t tend to be that much of a pain in the ass cosmetic wise. Just look out for damage to the trans, motor & supercharger.
The car crushing is the worst to watch 😭
OMFG. I ACTUALLY THREW UP IN MY MOUTH AT AFTER 11 MINUTES.
Why don't you guys keep doors? From what i've seen they're worth in some instances big money.
Not worth anything. same exact door as a cts coupe
@brenden221 the doors are between 250-500 each around here.
@@jeffhulsey989 I stand corrected, just checked local and ebay. You're right on your dollar figures. Maybe its not worth the space to them for how long it will take to sell? Who knows.
Cadillac body parts don't hold their value. Only the drivetrain is worth money when it comes to GM parts.
You guys should get some drain tables for the fluids it’ll keep your nice floor clean
What is a drain table if you don't mind me asking and where is it usually put in or on a vehicle?
you guys dont sell the trunks and the doors?
Same as the v6 version I believe so not really worth it
My favorite CTS-V generation.
So confused why you guys don’t part out the doors and quarters. Trunk and all that was good. I under might take a little long to sell but it’s still extra money. Maybe I’m wrong
It's because they don't have room for them/ time for the money they would get if they sold! Sure they might sell, but it's more for someone local vs shipping cost.
3:47 Almost! 🤏
hello,
why you don't keep doors, trunks, windshield and other glass parts...
Not worth much, low demand so hard to sell, cost a lot to ship, glass is easy to break, and they still get money from scrapping them
@@joemother1098 ok. Thank you
No part price breakdown???
I love these cars
So sad for the v coupe lovers 😭😭😭
Hey I need the Part between the steering wheel and the rack. Thay little bar that connects them. Took ours apart a year ago and yeah don't know what happened to it.
Dm me i have a v2 part out.
The end of this video was like watching to end of gone in sixty seconds😢
They both had a brutal end twice
Love tearing things apart
You Don't Save Doors or Good Body Panels ?
Says it cost a lot of money to ship them so basically wouldn’t make enough money off of them
Was also wondering. We had a car we couldn’t source glass for from glass suppliers and the manufacturer, thankfully this side of the world they try and salvage everything so we were able to source.
@@KiingmtkSell locally?
Do people not buy body parts or interior parts? Seems like alot got thrown away
They generally only keep the parts specific to the rarer versions of cars, the interior and most of the body panels are the same on the base model version so arent worth enough to bother storing or selling, the only keep the high value easily sold parts, on some of the rarer cars they salvage they keep basically everything, but warehouse space is expensive and they still probably doubled their money on these cars.
Why did you destroy the body of both of them???
Coulda used alot of thoes parts that went to the dump on my 08 cts 😔
I need tail lights and front headlights
wish you would have fixed the black one :/
Can I buy one of the LSA motors ?!?!?
those cars still had a lot of good parts left
Should interview the salvage claw dude. "Do you love your job?" "F!@# yea and wreck S!@#, thank you Allie."
10:47 aw man watch the paint
15k for both. I think you guys paid way to much
I agree, I've actually seen one crashed CTS-V for about 5K and the engine still ran so they definitely got ripped off.
True
15k including fees so not that far off from the 5k
Only 7.5k each. Thats a bargain in my opinion. Yeah you’d make more parting it out but if you fixed these 2 you’d easily get atleast 45k depending on where you live.
I think it’s cool to see the scrap yard smashing the junk cars up
can i get the wheels off of the black v for free?
I’d take all those good parts
Best part the final smash. Keep it up!
The Mask! 😅
2 in 1 package
Two collector cars just destroyed, they both could of been fixed.
I agree, they wasted two of the greatest cars ever made. Both of those could have been in the possession of a passionate car owner who would love to take care of them.
Hardly a collector car. They suffered from heat-soak and most of them are turned into street-drag cars.
doors aren't worth keeping? surprising.
Hey I need that.... Oh wait nevermind
Yup! 5 years from now all CTS-V models will be worth 100 Thousand or more. LOL. Just like the Camaros and Stangs from the glory days of Muscle. LOL.
How much does a pair of lsa swaps go for right before race wars????😂
There was good body parts why wouldn’t they be sold instead of crushing them
Silent mode....a few moment later do not talk while you are doing your job, then music and than just sounds of the tools.
Haha
Ouch = poor ctv
You don't keep the bodies for parts
Rip cts v’s
These 2 Died very young!🥲
Too bad you can't make one good car with too bad cars
Waste of cars could have rebuilt the both
Wow
Wassup
or either set. i can do 500 bucks
