Oh baby time to go down the Steely Dan rabbit hole baby! Check out a funky tune by them called FM and wait for it Hey Nineteen-Time Out Of Mind-Rikki Don't Lose That Number- Josie-many many more. Donald Fagan the main singer went off on his own in the 80's and thru the early 2000's made some more music. A few songs were Nightfly-New Frontier-Dunes-Snowbound-Mona-Morph The Cat to name a few. So glad your reacting to these Cats!😍☺😊

Boz Scaggs, Dusty Springfield, Righteous Brothers....we call it a "Bobby Caldwell" moment, when you think the artist is Black. Bee Gees, too.

'Blue Eyed FUNK' smooth, great bass lines, fine guitar solo.

Try "Black Cow", "The Fez", "Hey Nineteen", "Green Earrings", "Do It Again", "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" and "Home At Last". Also maybe you should try "Kid Charlemagne", "Deacon Blues", "Josie", "Aja", "Reelin' In The Years" and a few others. Steely Dan, kings of the groove. You should also listen to SD while watching their lyric video. Most of their songs need some explaining.

De la souls song is “eye know”. This band infused jazz so well. Listen to “black cow” and your head will explode. Also, the intro has been sampled.....in fact this whole album is amazing. The song Hey Nineteen is great too 🔥

Peg is my all time favorite Steely Dan song. I have listened to this song consistently since 1990. Steely Dan is one of my favorite groups ever. If you have an opportunity, watch the video online called The Making of Peg and it is absolutely great!!!! Michael McDonald puts his touch on the song!!You have to check him out with the Doobie Brothers, singing solo and singing with Kenny Loggins.

The one you'll probably most recognize because someone sampled for a rap song is "black cow". There a steely dan interview where even they were talking about it.

As far as blue-eyed soul, there are so many people that could fall in that category. But great music is pure magic no matter who sings it. Check out
Atlanta Rhythm Section - I’m So Into You
    Boz Skaggs- Lowdown
    Player-Baby Come Back
    Ace-How Long
    Ides of March - Vehicle
    George Michael- Father Figure
    Allman Brothers -Midnight Rider
    Doobie Brothers- Long Train Running
Elvin Bishop -Fooled Around And Fell in Love
    Ambrosia -You’re the Only Woman
I can go on and on. 😊😊😊

this is not blue eye soul. Its soul. Blue eye soul is more pop with a taste of soul beat. Dont get stuck on labels when you are not aware of the definition.

  • @Pablopax4

Hey, it's a genre I suppose. On backing vocals was Michael McDonald, I guess he's very representative. USA artists I like in this niche are Eddie Hinton and Tony Joe White, a lot of great singers kind of merge into Southern Rock, it get's blurry. Over the pond it starts with Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield, Joe Cocker, there's some rock in there, as with all those 60's bands. For deeper cuts, try Humble Pie - Black Coffee, or Terry Reid - Dean, both live performances.
